Suzie, I am a chemical engineer and work for a fertilizer company. Your videos always improve my mood because I love learning things, even if it's things I will never directly use. Your videos are awesome!
Nail Career Education Hi suzie, I have a question, Can I use the Orly Bonder for a primer? Will it work, if not what primer do you recommend? Thank you!!
After raising my kids, I am ready to go back to work. Thing is, I don't have many skills. But I love nails. I would love to start doing nails as a profession. I know it's competitive, and I am 44. But at my age, I don't want to start a job I hate. I hope to find a good accredited school where I live. Even at my age, I think I can find success as long as I work hard and love what I do. Watching you on RUclips has been an inspiration. I know you have been successful in the business for many years ( I mean that in a good way, lol) but the fact that you brought your brand to RUclips and you aren't a 20 something woman is inspiring. Thank you. (It's hard for me to put into words what I am trying to say. I hope this came across ok!)
Pdx Paula go for it!! I just started in april and we are always talking about this channel in my class. Do what you love and love what you do! Also i have 2 small kids, but i truly believe anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
It's NEVER too late. I waited until I had 3 kids and an Army career to decide that I wanted to be a cosmetologist. Best decision I ever made. Nail tech school isn't that long AT ALL. You will LOVE IT, this is the best industry to be in. So creative and ever-changing! Dive in, girl!
Pdx Paula I’m 43 I just got into nails this past year & I pretty much was self taught from RUclips I’m enrolled in school now I want that license & my 2 boys are also grown 1 has a baby 7 months old .. so I’m a grandma back in school..😂
I'm 38, have been divorced twice and have 3 children and most recently I was engaged to the man I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with but that didn't end up being the case. I fight the thoughts all the time that it's too late for me to be happy and do the things I love, but I'm picking myself back up, I've enrolled in school, not for nails sadly, although I super enjoy learning about them and it's such a beautiful art, but I'll be a history major and I start in January 🙌 😊 Focusing my energy into being the best Mom that I can be and finally doing something for myself instead of living for someone else is the best decision I will ever make. I hope that all of you find success in all you do!! ❤
same! im 32, single mom with 2 kids a 4 year old with ASD and fostering a baby soon to be 1yr. I sometimes worry that ive waited too long to go back to school but Im doing it. starting 2019 im going to study to become a paralegal. I want to be independent and be a good mom and I think by getting a good career and investing in myself thats totally possible. supporting my family IS being a good mom. no matter the age.
I'm having such a terribly difficult day and watching a nail video seemed like it would help be a distraction, and I swear just Suzie's voice alone is soo soothing. I love your videos Suzie but today esp. I'm finding a sense of calm wash over me by the gentle soothing tones of your voice. ❤️ you are amazing in every sense of the word! Love you Suzie!
I can totally relate! I truly hope you feel better!! Yes! I was so tense when this video first started and my shoulders immediately relaxed and I feel a bit better! Thank you Suzie! Great video!!
Suzie! You are the reason I became a nail tech. Ive been watching you for 2 years now and people always ask me why I wanted to become a nail tech and I say for them to check you out :) Your videos inspire me so much and to create new fun things! Im not perfect but people enjoy then nails I do for them :) thank you for your amazing videos.
Can you just come to my house with your therapeutic voice and put everyone to bed every night? Lol! Love your videos. I am not even a nail person but am mesmerized by these videos!
@@NailCareerEducation I agree as well - I love nails though I don't much like nail extensions, but I still love watching your videos 'cause they're so relaxing. I find the high-energy of most RUclips videos exhausts me, so I come here for some rest.
The reason youre my fave nail channel is because you show us your learning curve and mistakes that are useful to see as we get to see how you fix them if that makes sense. Its better than watching some 'perfect' know-it-all 💖
I truly agree. I do nails, but I don't know how to fix my mistakes. I go to classes and they show you how to do nails, but they never tell you how to fix them like side where you file straight ,but when you're filing straight you put a notch in where the free edge and the side is or how to make the Apex look like an apex instead of a hump I appreciate you so much Susie I wish I could come to your classes I live in California and I think you're in Canada I could never afford to pay a class ,pay airfare, pay hotels, so I just thank you so much for doing the videos cuz this is the only way I get to see you and love you and I just appreciate you and your husband so much for helping us new nail techs and old nail techs and just anyone who wants to watch your videos.thank you so much ❤️😊😊
OMG....I halfway fell asleep, your voice is so soothing to my ears very therapeutic 😊I wish you were in the Georgia area(Atlanta) so you can teach these ladies how to properly do nails, they’re ripping us all off they’re not using this technique when getting gel nails, they’re using acrylic tips then applying gel polish and saying they’re gel nails and charging us an arm and a leg. I’ve been getting my nails done well over 20 plus years I know gel nails I’m from New York and that’s how it’s done there only here in the south...Ga.Sc,NC they wanna do nail tips then gel polish and say it’s gel nails. Please help us!!!lol. Your videos are a God sent. Thank you so much. 🙏
It's always amazing to see how Suzy transforms raw materials inside of little jars into very beautiful and elegant nails. I hope one day I could be as skilled and talented as you are!
I love working with hybrid gel! I did my first pair of baby boomer stiletto nails yesterday and it was so much fun! For me who is not a professional I feel that the hybrid gel offers a bigger room for mistakes and because of that I feel more free and encouraged in my creativity. I'm sorry for my bad english 🙈 You are the best youtuber and your videos are always so helpful, I've learned so much from you and you always makes me laugh🌹 Have a great day!
Nails of Interest wow really 😱 Omg this just made me day 😄 Thank you so much 🌹 Btw I was thinking I recognize your name from somewhere, and now I know why. I checked out your channel the other day for your "regular polish with gel polish" video. It was very good and informative!! You got a new swedish subscriber over here 👋🏻😊
Thank you for being so honest and real. You are helping me get through my fears and mistakes. What a wonderful and thoughtful teacher. You sure do help me through a lot of frustrations. Thank you with all my heart and soul. Great video.
Tiffany Galyean I do not. I prep my nails, and apply one coat of a nude polish. I normally use Dolce de Leche by OPI. Then using the sponging method of blending I apply the white!
Britt H for me I can do gels not wear clear over my natural but I couldn't commit to a color so long but I do want to do a French hard gel one day.. as i do have the supplies .. when I'll keep it longer!! I have a channel but still don't change my color very often!! I'd just use polishes or pigments to get same effect.. easier to change your mind! You can still add in some bling or something to add a bit extra to it too.. don't forget to wet the sponge first with water it makes it much easier to do!! Good luck come back next tell us how it went!!
A 45 minute video on a Thursday afternoon?! Way to perk up my day! This is so helpful and beautiful. The editing was ON POINT, Camera Man! Thanks, Suzie!
I did my first set of polygel nails on myself! I'm so happy with how they turned out. Thanks to you, I had an awesome base knowledge to start with. Even when I got a bubble, or anything unplanned, I knew exactly what to do to fix it! Your video on how to create nails on a nail biter was exactly what I needed to dive in!
You are a great teacher! Since the pandemic I've had to do my own nails. I have a new respect for my nail lady for sure! Thank you so much for being authentic.
I love this! I have this exact product, but never made a French fade. Some tips/information I learned about this product. - The color Extender is actually a little less opaque than Nude. And it's a more cooltoned color. - I was told to scoop up product from the side of the jar to avoid air bubbles. - If you see "spots" on the product, your brush is too wet. If the product sticks to the brush, the brush is too dry. - Everytime you put on a new set, first lay down a thin layer of Clear where the extended nail is going to be (so a little bit on the tip of the nailbed all the way to the tip of your new nail). This is supposed to help with the durability, because the other colors are more poreus. Hope this helps anyone. ♡
She’s the type of person who’d be nice to have a girls night with 😭✨ imagine yall be chillin’ and stuff, talking about life and shizz while she doing yor nails ❤️❤️❤️
Also, I know most nail RUclipsrs change their nails very often, I'm so impressed with the conditions of your nails every time you have removed a set. Can you please please make a video with how you, personally, take your nails off and keep them strong enough to put on new nails over and over?
The only reason I'm learning UV/LED gel is for this design!! I saw it once on here and I'm in love. Much thanks to Suzie for introducing me to this technique and for her incredibly helpful videos!!
the acrylic version of this is what i watch to calm down from crying or even panic attacks and this version is fantastic too thank you so much these videos are so relaxing
Hi there Suzie my name is Jannie am 62 and i adore you for the simple fact that you explain every step in having beautiful nails you take your time in doing these steps so that we will get the understanding of what we need to do and must do to have beautiful.nails!! I just love the way you and camera man has such a close connection .....it's very loving! I get a hell of a kick when you throw things behind you!! In all Suzie you have amazing talent .......never let go of it!!! Take care!!
I totally only do my own nails, but I love watching your videos and seeing new techniques I hope to try. Thanks Suzie and camera man for great quality videos. Love form Alberta.
It is honestly such a relief to see that Suzie doesn’t always create a perfect nail on the first go. That sometimes they’re too high or thick or bumpy or discoloured. It reminds the beginner nail artist that even the absolute best make mistakes and are still learning sometimes. It’s really comforting actually. And quite encouraging! :)
I would love to see you do a whole tutorial using your personal favorite acrylics. And hear you talk about why there are your favorites and the best way to work with them etc. That would be so great for those of us who wants to work with good acrylics and wanting to know from a professional which ones to use. Maybe list your top 3 or 5 acrylic brands. Would be really awesome. You’re the best, I love your videos. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE
NErnstsson But that's only based off of preference and what you'd want you work to look like. For example, I'm not a huge fan of ENail Couture, but I LOVE products from Naio Nails, EMi, and Tonez. You just have to experiment with what you want. Plus, you'd have to get acustomed to working with acrylic or gel *first* before you start investing on better brands and work your way up. Suzie could give a recommendation, but it won't mean YOU'D like it.
besides your wonderful educating voice (it's so soothing, positive and sweet) and all the do's and don'ts you show us, I have to say I love the music choice in your vids.
So.. I’m not likely to ever do your beautiful nail designs myself, but I adore your channel. Your voice and vocal inflections are perfect. Watching you create your art is so soothing; meditative even. If I’m having a bad day I can just watch your content to calm down and turn my logic brain back on. I guess my point is that I’m glad you are making your videos and I really enjoy them. Thank you.
I love this video 💗 When you talk about making mistakes and learning from them you not only teach us about nails but you also teach us about life. This is pure gold right there, something everyone should hear.
Suzie, this was such a great tutorial. I'm glad that your ego didn't get the best you and we got to learn along with you 😀 This set turned out so beautiful...I love baby boomer nails. Thank you for sharing you work of art with us Suzie 💕💕
I couldn't rush home fast enough to see this video, I always get excited when you post a new video. Love how you're so inspirational with each video you do 😍 i watch you're videos more then once to make sure I didn't miss anything the first time since I'm so amazed. 🤓 always studying
My struggle to do these fades in gel, acrylic, or gel polish is real. Thank you for breaking it down. I always think im not doing it well. Thank you for saying we shouldn't be to hard on ourself. Stay healthy and happy!
Thank you for having a learner’s spirit when it comes to doing nails! Even though you have 30 years of experience, you’re not afraid to show us every little step of the way on how to do techniques. I’ve failed so many times trying different techniques from videos I watch, and I realized that I didn’t always know what mistakes I kept making (because the videos I watched went straight to perfection). Thank you for showing us not just want to do, but also what not to do (and why!). Your transparency and detailed explanations make it so easy and fun to learn from you. You’re such a blessing to all of us! ❤️
Awwwww- thank you - its nice to hear someone break down why they find my videos good to watch/ helps me understand how we can make them better and improve everytime we do a new one
I love her Videos!!! The voice is very warm and I really find it helpful that she shows humility by saying some days it just doesn't look the same because this is ART. Love it
Thanks for showing the learning and more importantly, how to correct it! You have taught me so much through your videos and it’s made me a better nail tech 😊😊😊
I love these videos! I'm self taught started this past winter now I'm hooked. I'm 55 single and I want to get my certification to do this now. I have to say that I don't care for the pointy nails, I love the old school square 😀
I love these. I would get the pink and white acrylics for years but the filling and filing process was so long this is such a wonderful alternative... Beautiful nails
oh man your level of skill and precision is too much! the way you went back and fixed those first two and then KNOWING what you needed to go back and do.....just wow!
I just finished my nails today and I'm feeling kind of rough about my abilities. Thank you for the reminder about it being an art. Even the best aren't perfect every time. I really needed that.
I love how you show all the things that can go wrong and what to do about it,,,,and there are so many things that can go wrong in a nail service lolol. It really is an art form.
every time i watch one of your videos i always fall asleep in a good way cause your voice is so soft and relaxing and then the background music adds to that relaxation feeling and i just love your videos and i love learning about how to do different nails with your videos thank you very much.
Nor I'm a nail tech, neither I have my nails done often... but watching your videos is so soothing that I wanna become one! You make it look soooooo easy. 💕💕 Love, love, LOVE watching a Master at work! 💕💕 AND I ALSO LOVE YOUR CHOICE OF MUSIC!
Suzie, you truly are like a fairy godmother or something. I suffer from bad anxiety and panic attacks. Somehow, just listening to your voice, and watching you gives me some relief. I thank you soooooo much. Nails r my life right now. I have gained a lot of weight and feel pretty terrible about myself😖 however, I always have great nails. They never go out of style😊
Thank you! I tried this technique on myself using this tutorial and it turned out pretty decent but my pink was a little more sheer than I liked. I also learn from your other videos on structure and shaping which have helped me get better. Your positive attitude on always improving kept me from throwing in the towel. 😀
I know this is totally unrelated to nail art but I am going through the biggest heart break of my entire life right now and your videos are so visually beautiful and relaxing. It is really helping my anxiety and oddly enough making me feel like I'm not so alone right now. Thank you for that ❤
Being a fan of acrylic and prior oldie but goodie nail tech, I have to say that so far at least with the white, I’m loving the thickness to the gel in that it won’t run so easily. I LOVE how it’s staying put. It’s seems softer than poly but much more firm than soft gel! I’m only doing my own nails now and opted for gel for ease of use, but I have to say, with nail plates like mine which are high in the C-curve snd the sides are almost straight up snd down, having a tick gel is proving to be paramount! The regular gel out of a bottle is far too thin and I have great difficulty in repairing the end of my nail when it simply wears snd needs to be rebuilt up in just those areas! I’ll see what the other colors look like but this looks like a possibility for me. I was going to mix poly gel with the soft gel snd use that on the ends at the wear sites. I haven’t tried it yet. Any suggestions would be welcomed!
you bring me so much peace, I'm struggling so much with my mental health and I have no maternal or female figures in my life and you make me feel so calm and comforted, so thank you :)
i'm not sure if you did on purpose for teaching reasons but it was nice to see that everything you do isn't always perfect on the 1st try. either way it was a great learning experience. thanks for showing this.
Ihave been doing my own polygel nails for the past 7 months always following your shaping tips ♥️ I'm learning thank you so so so much like i couldn't thank you enough !
You are such a perfectionist! It’s beautiful and inspiring! I love the videos you do on yourself, on my days off I sit and watch them, and I feel like we’re hanging out together. This video is a great example of your skill, professionalism, and of how personable you are. The way you talk to the listener is amazing and makes me feel very included. You inspire me with every video to return to what I call my “functional creative outlet.” You are amazing, and I love when you point out your flaws! Being a perfectionist isn’t easy!
I really love how calm and pleasant your videos are. Sometimes I watch one just to calm down after a long day, while also learning something new. The funny thing is that I don’t even do nails.
i got into ebay - cheap hybrid gel - go asian because thier the cheapest - free shipping and buy now -- you get a 30ml tube of a colour pink - gray - white - clear and you dont have to use the slip solution just use acetone and my nails are rocking -- you need a lamp but after that your away
idk what it is about your videos. You're so good at making these tutorials. And your voice is calm. Good for teaching. lol I'm sure you've heard that before.
as a ceramic artist, it's so interesting to see that nail artists use such similar sculptural techniques. i would love to apply my sculpture skills to some nail art, but i can't have long nails BECAUSE i do ceramic art! booooo! i love your videos!
I love the way you do nail I wish our nails do stuff the way you do but they don’t so I just watch videos that you do and love ❤️ the care that you give your clients
You really are a sweetie thank you for showing me everything I need to no. I'm just starting at home to save me money I am starting out with acrylics but gel seems easier. I've never had gel nails but thank you I'm here every step of they way God bless teola x
i cannot stop watching this. it's so relaxing! i especially love that youre so free about sharing the learning process with us. thank you so much!! i really want to try hybrid gel now, ive only ever worked with gel!
Thank you for your vulnerability showing us that it’s ok not to be perfect the first try! I’m a new-ish nail tech, and I struggle with a lot of these kinds of techniques! I absolutely love watching your videos! I’m coming to Victoria this summer and I want to come check your salon out! ❤️

I love the chic look of a french fade! I love it so much Ive mastered the look with polish using the sponging technique!
thederpypug do you have a video of that?
Tiffany Galyean I do not. I prep my nails, and apply one coat of a nude polish. I normally use Dolce de Leche by OPI. Then using the sponging method of blending I apply the white!
Tiffany Galyean pigments powders also work if you want a super easy way.. I did them with neon before
thederpypug I have natural nails and will try your method. I love to watch Suze but prefer natural nails.... so much easier!

Me and my daughter love watching your channel. She's 8 and loves doing her nails!

But that's only based off of preference and what you'd want you work to look like.
I love how she makes mistakes and correcting them!!! Seriously she is the best and real
besides your wonderful educating voice (it's so soothing, positive and sweet) and all the do's and don'ts you show us, I have to say I love the music choice in your vids.
This French Fade Nail is the most beautiful of all, in my opinion. You do a wonderful job creating these nails! BRAVO👏👏👏
Suzie, this was such a great tutorial. I'm glad that your ego didn't get the best you and we got to learn along with you 😀
This set turned out so beautiful...I love baby boomer nails.
I have none of the tools to do literally any of Suzie's videos but I'll watch every single one because she's so lovely and easy to listen to
My struggle to do these fades in gel, acrylic, or gel polish is real.
I love how you showed your mistakes and how to fix them ! Great humility !
I love her Videos!!! The voice is very warm and I really find it helpful that she shows humility by saying some days it just doesn't look the same because this is ART. Love it
She is definitely cool. And so thorough! All the tiny tips she gives that answer all our questions.
Thanks for showing the learning and more importantly, how to correct it! You have taught me so much through your videos and it’s made me a better nail tech 😊😊😊
45 minute video?!?! What did we do to deserve this awesomeness?!?!!!😍😍😍
I always skim comments while watching videos and I had no clue I was 20 minutes into this video. I thought I was her for 5 minutes.
Suzie you are SUCH a good teacher! I love seeing your mistakes and how you learn from them and correct them.
I just finished my nails today and I'm feeling kind of rough about my abilities. Thank you for the reminder about it being an art. Even the best aren't perfect every time. I really needed that.
I hated my nails when i first started doing them! It’s 2 years later, do you still do your own nails? I hope so!!!
Lol! Did I say how I love this product? I can’t wait to see where to get this and try to learn as much as I can about just this product!!!! Fantastic!
Suzie I just LOVE your tutorials!
Such a Amazing Talented Woman!
Thank You For Doing This Video! 💕
Thank you so much for accepting my request for french fade tutorial. I love it ❤
Nor I'm a nail tech, neither I have my nails done often... but watching your videos is so soothing that I wanna become one!
I am also a sucker for LIGHTS. Any kind of lights. Somehow they r just comforting to me. Your studio is so zen, and relaxing. ✌
Thank you! I tried this technique on myself using this tutorial and it turned out pretty decent but my pink was a little more sheer than I liked. I also learn from your other videos on structure and shaping which have helped me get better. Your positive attitude on always improving kept me from throwing in the towel. 😀
Really helpful you showing us so clearly step by step. Actually very much appreciated your mini-mistakes and how you corrected them. Super helpful. 😊👍
You are absolutely the Bob Ross of the nail world, thank you. 🙌🏻
I know this is totally unrelated to nail art but I am going through the biggest heart break of my entire life right now and your videos are so visually beautiful and relaxing. It is really helping my anxiety and oddly enough making me feel like I'm not so alone right now. Thank you for that ❤
I'm writing the most stressful paper right now and I have her on in the background because her voice is so soothing. I miss getting my nails done.
Thank you Suzie ❤ needed this on my sickday, you are a joy to watch and learn from!
you bring me so much peace, I'm struggling so much with my mental health and I have no maternal or female figures in my life and you make me feel so calm and comforted, so thank you :)
You are an excellent teacher, wish my instructor had been as great as you. You can tell you love your art work
Ugh I can't do my nails right now and this is letting me live vicariously through you, thank you Suzie!!!
The Ugly Duckling lamp is BEAUTIFUL 😍
i'm not sure if you did on purpose for teaching reasons but it was nice to see that everything you do isn't always perfect on the 1st try. either way it was a great learning experience. thanks for showing this.
I love your videos so much Suzie, I'm only 12 and you're a real inspiration 💙
Ihave been doing my own polygel nails for the past 7 months always following your shaping tips ♥️ I'm learning thank you so so so much like i couldn't thank you enough !
So much talent, I used to do nails in the 90’s, I was also a teacher at a beauty academy, loved every minute of it.
It’s just so satisfying how you scoop the hybrid gel
You are such a perfectionist! It’s beautiful and inspiring! I love the videos you do on yourself, on my days off I sit and watch them, and I feel like we’re hanging out together. This video is a great example of your skill, professionalism, and of how personable you are. The way you talk to the listener is amazing and makes me feel very included. You inspire me with every video to return to what I call my “functional creative outlet.” You are amazing, and I love when you point out your flaws! Being a perfectionist isn’t easy!
Shout out to Suzie for giving life lessons during nail lessons.
Suzie is a delight--and a fellow artist, always eager to learn more about her medium. These videos are so helpful.
I really love how calm and pleasant your videos are. Sometimes I watch one just to calm down after a long day, while also learning something new. The funny thing is that I don’t even do nails.
On top of being very informative, your channel is very relaxing. I literally fell asleep watching because your voice is sooo soothing. You’re amazing
Saw these on IG and was anxious to see the video! Thank you Suzie! These are gorgeous!

Every one does that even me
Honestly I've never had my nails done and probably never will but I just freaking love Suzie and her videos I can't stop watching
i got into ebay - cheap hybrid gel - go asian because thier the cheapest - free shipping and buy now -- you get a 30ml tube of a colour pink - gray - white - clear and you dont have to use the slip solution just use acetone and my nails are rocking -- you need a lamp but after that your away
I love your channel. I did my own nails for many years, your channel has convinced me to branch out and look into nail school. Thank you.
I love how hard gel can look a hot mess and be filed to perfection 🥰
Lol👍🏼
idk what it is about your videos. You're so good at making these tutorials. And your voice is calm. Good for teaching. lol I'm sure you've heard that before.
@ Rachel Jackson I agree with you, Suzie's voice is so calm & collected. Suzie is like Bod Ross of nail art.
A 44 minutes video? Suzie, you are spoiling us
You're amazing! Thank you so much for sharing all your wisdom.
as a ceramic artist, it's so interesting to see that nail artists use such similar sculptural techniques. i would love to apply my sculpture skills to some nail art, but i can't have long nails BECAUSE i do ceramic art! booooo! i love your videos!
I love the way you do nail I wish our nails do stuff the way you do but they don’t so I just watch videos that you do and love ❤️ the care that you give your clients

You are a great teacher. Great job. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you for your vulnerability showing us that it’s ok not to be perfect the first try! I’m a new-ish nail tech, and I struggle with a lot of these kinds of techniques! I absolutely love watching your videos! I’m coming to Victoria this summer and I want to come check your salon out! ❤️
Thanks for showing what everyday techs go through. It doesn't make those learning they arent doing so great when they see realistic videos.
