I’ve just realized while watching your video that I never gave my nails a second to “blend/bond” again before putting it under the lamp. Causing my nails to look streaky. I’ll have to try that now and see how it looks. ❤
Ah I hope so too! Am planning a real time ombré video soon, so check back for that. Different ombré techniques work differently for different people, so hopefully this helps for you!
Attempting to master ombrés for several years makes it a lot easier than it used to be 😆 When in doubt, blend more...and more...and a bit more...then some more!
What a beautiful blend! I have struggled with the baby boomer ombré. Thanks so much. Are you guys still on lockdown out there? Hope your allergies clear up soon. We are having the same out here💕
Thank you! Hope this helps! We're in an unclear phase of 'work if you can, but don't go to work, unless you can't work from home, in which case go to work, but don't use public transport, unless you need to use public transport, but stay home, unless you need to go out, and socially distance, but you can meet 1 friend, but stay in, and stay alert to prevent the spread. Because being 'alert' apparently means you are able to dodge an invisible airborne virus and/or detect its presence even though it is often undetectable. Salons and the such have been told the earliest we'll be able to work is July 4th, but only if a long list of requirements are met such as infection rates etc. It's all very unclear and not half as specific as it needs to be! 🤣🤣
Ah that's great!! Gel polish baby boomers are a pain in the arse, so well done!! Feel free to tag me if you post on Insta (look at me talking like I know sh!t about Instagram 🤣🤷🏼♀️)
My friend wants these with some nail art. I feel like my inexperience will take me so long. Buffing the base coat? Do you buff the entire nail. Why do you do this? Another friend gets her boomer done with dip powder. Do you ever use that? I got some to try, but I’ve only used it once.
I buffed the base because I'd wiped off the sheer pink to use a different pink instead, and a wiped surface isn't the best for adhesion, gel likes a buffed or tacky surface, so if I wipe a nail then I tend to give it a quick light buff so it's prepped for whatever I put on next. I've never used dip powders. To be brutally honest, I'm not a fan of them! I think they're gimmicky, unsanitary, and I'm yet to see an immaculate cuticle application with it. Also, you'd still need paints or gel polishes to do designs.
@@MissJosNailCo thank you much:) Re: Dip powders. I have to agree with you on all counts(gimmicky yes!)the nails also seem to be thicker. Still, two of my long time manicure friends choose dip over painted gel. They say they’ll never go back. I wonder if it is faster or maybe cheaper? 🤷🏻♀️ I have painted nails for less than a year. I’ve never had a manicure 💅 done or painted nails previously. I’ve been painting for less than a year. I still have a lot to learn. I appreciate you answering my questions. So I have one more... do you ever use ph bond or protein bond in the natural nail? The only time I use probond is on the tips of chrome nails, before the topcoat. I tried one hand with probond on tip and one without. It’s been 5 days and the one without is wearing thin. The one with is holding strong. Sorry such a long msg. I know your time is precious😁
I use bonder before extensions, but the Gel Perfection base coats have primer in them, so after prepping I cleanse and then go straight in with the base coat 😊
I send them a pic of how to measure their nails, and often have to ask them to measure again as they sizes they come back with are weird! Make sure they measure both hands as there can be variation. If you want to do pre-made sets, either sell sets of 20, or as S/M/L x
I didn't start until a couple of weeks ago. Some people say they're really busy, but I've only sold 12 and have 3 or 4 I'm waiting on for measurements. Still, better than a slap in the face with a wet fish 🐟 🤣
In the past, I got people to send me their measurements, or if they were local I'd have them come by and size them up. When I start selling them again, I'll be sending out sizing kits.
OMG this looks sooo beautiful and you make it look like a piece of cake. I struggle with the ombré but I'll keep practicing. Thank you!!
I enjoyed your personality just as much as the nails themselves 😄 beautiful, love. Thanks for the tips!!!
Ahh! Thank you so much! 🥰💖
I always love a baby boomer set :D
It is a gorgeous thing, although I used to dread it!

Every time I call it a baby boomer nail ppl look at me like huh? These came out gorgeous!
Same! I explain to them why it's called that and then subtly try to convince them not to ask for it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Miss Jo's Nail Co. I just tried this technique and it came out awesome! Thank you for this video! Wish I could post a pic on this comment!

Thank you!! 😊🥰😊
I struggled with this but I think it’s my brushes! What size brush are you using in this please xx
I'm using the Crystal Nails Barbara 2 in this video. It's not ultra fine, more of a small triangle 😆

How do you know they will fit the customer if you haven't specifically measured the press on nails for them xx
