I promise I browse your videos yet again, but did you ever do a video explaining a little bit more about the BIOS files? I installed one tonight only because it was sent to me and I was told to drag and drop it into the folder. Besides that I know nothing about them, or even where the proper place to obtain them would be. Thanks so much guys. You've taught me so many rad things that even my nephew thinks I'm kind of cool. Well, not really but he doesn't kick me in the balls anymore so that has to count for something right?
BIOS files are usually system dependent. Check the retroarch wiki and it'll tell you what bios files are needed per system. On some occasions, they'll be needed for particular arcade games too. But yeah, they're not exactly open to share so we won't be distributing or saying where to get them from. (sorry!)

I think versions prior to 4.x run on an EXT4 file-system, therefore you could do it directly to mSD with a Linux OS on your PC... only applicable if you're using an AMlogic 912x device running on EMUelec 3.9 though.

You need to add the correct bios to your bios folder.
Is there another scrape method to use? I registered for the account and am using the same method you show in the video, and I get a message saying that I have exceeded my daily scrape limit. Also not all of images/videos/boxart is there. Thanks for any help.

My system shows a folder for Atari Jaguar also; however, that system does not show in the console choices when I boot up emulator. I have Jaguar game files in there (in a zip folder), but the Jaguar console doesn’t even show.
How do I get EmuElec to show that console?

So do you always get your micro XD cards for. The super console x pro write protected? Because I just got mine write protected for some reason since Thursday the week before this week. So I wanna know if you use new as cards if that one is bad or outdated?
How are you accessing the card ? Microsd to SD adapters usually have a tab to click up to enable write protection.
Alternatively you don't want to use these in a windows pc with a linux mount software... That'll cause all-sorts of issues.
@@TeamPandory well I access all the roms and stuff onto the emuelec by network and I can’t add games or save data on them or modify anything on the micro sd card, can you tell me how do I disable the write protection? Please
For the network bit, do you have to connect it directly to pc/laptop for it to be discoverable or it can just be accessed through the network when on or what?
BTW i am running it on an emmc and it is on a SBC(single board computer) so i cant access the drive without having to format it.

Hey there. Welcome! - Changing the "core" is done by going into a system folder within emuelec, pushing START (or select?) - then in the system settings, you can change the core. If there's only one core available for that system, you won't be able to do this though.

Hi. I updated my console x max. Every Thing is fine.. but i cant sort the games in the System folder oder favorite folder. They looked randomly ..and i would like sort by alphabet. I dont find it in the menu.. and the menu by pressing select did not open any more. ..can i change a setting or Config data ? Wich and what have i change for this? Can some one help? I thought i can change the order by changing the "sortname" but nothing happens... plx help

I did method #3, but when I open EEroms folder there are no system files at all. Also for some reason my emuelec android box is not showing up on my network, but its clearly connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Which version of emuelec? Did you install it to a fresh microsd?
I've had it one time that the files didn't extract correctly to the microsd and had to reflash the card.
Another possible issue could be that you're using an unreliable / fake microsd
method 3 is completely useless. nothing can be changed on my partition except delete it. is there any other method to get there ??
So a quick question, I have a device that uses Emulec and I may have powered the device off prematurely. After powering on, when I select Mame all of the box art and screenshots for each game on the right side of the game list is missing and just says unknown. I've tried viewing the game list in detailed and auto but still nothing. However, I have verified that they are still installed in the roms folder. Is there a way I can get it to reappear in the game list?
If they were there before, then it could be that you have a corrupted data. You can always scrape a new batch, provided the games work.

In FileZilla trying to add roms to folders as shown, they copy over at 0 bytes. I'm getting Error while writing: File transfer failed. Any ideas?
Mine is doing the same thing now too... Can't copy anything through FileZilla, always fails because the destination is write protected... You ever figure out anything on yours?

Yep. That uses emuelec so it will be the same method. They may have renamed the network share to retrostation, I can't quite remember.

When I remove the SD card, the Android system does not boot, and there is no reset on the device until I restore the Android system.

Question, if you have use a beelink gt king/super console x king and you have a 1tb hard drive of games, are you able to connect the hard drive to the system and do the games appear on the menus? (It's a retrostation 1tb hard drive btw)
Unsure what exact RetroStation you're using, it'll depend on that. You could probably repurpose it to be used for emuelec tho

If it's a pc, then it'd have batocera on it which is only to be plugged up to computers. You'd need to format and copy over stuff to either a microsd or another hd to get it working I think
@@TeamPandory Well, on mine, it just has 2 folders in the directory 'Roms' and 'Android'. I don't know if the PC4U version is organised the same or anything, but if it is, then i'll see if i can transfer some games onto the microsd or something.

hi great video thank you. im having a problem, i flash my s905x3 box with the right file. then dl the right file for boot. all good boots up fine in box. here is the prob, im using a 256 san disk sd card it have 2 partitions now and there both 2gigs? all me space is gone on partition 2? also when i go back to my laptop to load games the roms partition has nothing in the roms folder? can you please help me. than k you steve
It should be resized automatically once you lost emuelec for the first time. If that's not working, reflash the microsd with emuelec and try again.
Emuelec 4+ should give the fat32 partition, accessible via windows, but anything earlier will partition as exfat- so you'd need to copy over files via the network.

You'll need to bash in the naomi bios files into the bios folder- then use mame 0.206 or later naomi game zips (copy them into the naomi folder)

You shouldn't need to create folders in the roms folder. That is probably protected. What are you trying to achieve with this ?

Hi I jus got the super console x cube today and I'm trying to install a game thru the SD card method for dreamcast. When I got the game, the title showed up on my list (without picture, video, or written description) and booted to the dreamcast intro. However once the sega terms came after it froze. Any advice??
Try a CDI file format.

In my disk manager i get a 'disk manager console view is out of date'. I cant change the letter of the drive and access any of the roms folders. Any advise PLEASE?!
Use one of the other methods to copy them over. That's why we've added alternatives.

Either connect to the same WiFi network, or connect via LAN cable.
My Bee Link GT King is WIFI enabled, as is Emuelec. When I type in //emuelec on my explorer window to search "This PC'" a browser tab opens on my internet browser. It reads:
This site can’t be reached
emuelec refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Are you trying with a forward slash or backslash?

my x2 ultra gamestick doesnt have wifi. how do i manually add thumbnails for newly added roms?
You could try attaching a wifi USB dongle, or perhaps a wired network dongle, then connect it up. Another idea would be to use Linux to access the microsd data.
Ive got a problem with my gamelist view when i change it to anything other than automatic it just crashes and goes back to homescreen. Anyone any idea why this happens?
I'd like to use crystal theme with panel view for gamelists. Using ver 3.9.

All of them apply to the console x, as the system used is emuelec.

hi, mate, do you know how to use bluetooth 8bitdo controllers with emuelec? how to configure it?
Usually the issue with Bluetooth is the controller in the box itself. If the bt controller is compatible, you need to go to pair in emuelec, turn on pairing mode on your controller, then you need to configure the controls.
If the bt controller isn't compatible, you'll need to use a Bluetooth USB dongle. I think 8bitdo brown is the one that works best for me.

@@lostalienmusic bios files go in the bios folder, - the folder is parallel to the ROMS folder that can be seen in this video. Re: MAME, it's more than likely that you're having ROM SET issues. You need to use the correct MAME romset for the emulator you are trying to run, or you'll have a bad time. We recommend looking for the MAME 0.139 aka MAME2010, then use the appropriate core for it.

Have you tried the video tutorial we have up on OpenBOR? Search: EEMC403 Instead of using \\emuelec use \\batocera- shouldn't be too much difference.

@@fabulousfred5096 Check the batocera wiki for ftp login and password if you cant simply tap \\batocera in your windows explorer window (once your mini pc is on the network)

@@TeamPandory hey i got it on my mini pc but it wont load to play a game it just boots out to the home screen meaning it will load the first screen then when you go to arcade it wont load to start instead it just boots you out to the home screen.

It should be in the scraping menu. Make sure you give a Username and Password (from the screenscraper website) - They may have changed their system to not allow from the Console X- If this is the case, you'd need to scrape your games on a PC instead.
@@TeamPandory can you kindly tell me how to do it on pc? on console x it makes me select only "arcadedb" as a scraper, however this is very limited and does not install nintendo scraper.
I would like to add C64 and Amiga platforms to EmuElec, however I don’t know how to do this, is there a link to follow on how to do this?
The platforms are already on emuelec. You just need to add bios and the adf files then the systems will show in the interface.

Hi friend, I have installed version 3.9 of emuelec, the only compatible version for my mxq 4X amlogic s905, I transfer the roms via the network, so far everything is ok...but if I insert the SD card into the PC, the eeroms partition does not appear even when I go to disk management, I tried both FAT32 and NTFS and always the same problem when changing SD, what could it be?
To add roms on windows, you'd need to use WiFi. At default the partition is formatted to Linux and windows can't read it.
Ah here! Is it because in the video you can show it from Windows in the third method!?
@@Diablo-RED In the video "This will only work with emuelec 4 onwards" - that is because they changed the partition to fat32 / exfat from emuelec 4 onwards

Reinstall? There may be a way of restoring setting to default - but tbh you should go ask the guys in the emuelec discord.

This only works for emuelec, but the process should be quite similar with other systems (like batocera, etc)

@@TeamPandory So i installed emuelec aand aded games in the rom folder and they worked then i decided to add more games like saturn and dreamcast stuff and once i did i put the sd card back in the andriod box and on the emuelec loading screen i got an error so i deleted it off the sd and re installed emuelec and as i went to the share folders it came up with the options but when i opened the files for practically all of them they were all empty , for an example, i open cores and the file was empty. Do you have any ideas of what ive done incorrect?
@@chilly8868 there are actually two locations for cores and roms. One is on the first partition. And the other on the emuroms partition (uh. Forgot the name). Since you're starting from scratch why not follow the install and add roms videos we have up?
If you have unreliable data, it may be that you have a fake sized microsd. Did you check it before you started?

No. Go read up at the emuelec github- PS2 needs way more oomph / a PC
@@TeamPandory makes sense, I’ll keep this in mind when adding PSP games for my retro console. I’ve seen God of War run awfully for example but games like Dragon Ball Shin Budokai run great.

Yeah. It's like batocera / retropie.
You add the games and then the emulators are opened on game load
I get a Red Screen when trying to boot games, any tips as to why?
That red screen will tell you what's wrong. Scroll to near the bottom and start reading

You may need to install and run it again in your android box- sometimes they mess up partitioning the drive.

@@Stand4Righteousness unsure. None that we've made. I think you basically need to convert the Gamed partition to fat32. May be best asking in the emuelec discord or checking their wiki for that. Say you're on emuelec 3.9 and want to use fat32. How can I do it ?

@@TeamPandory i did that already i formatted the large partition to fat32 labelled it EEROMS but didnt work , error says 'could not mount label=storage'

If it can get enough power, then sure.
See, what I guessed was that you was talking about something like SSH when you told me to use the network to change the settings when it's running.
I didn't figure out that you was talking about directly connecting an ethernet cable to the box to do it.
When messaging without context/ images, things will get a bit muddied in the mix. Yeah. Config files are scattered about to play with.

Find it online, then copy into the bios folder as you would copy over game ROM files.

Because this drive also has bezels, roms, and is where you can update from. Daphne? That's a laser disc game emulator. Dragons lair etc.

🐔🐔🐔 HELP, HELP, HELP!!! me Chicken. I have a Pow Kiddy X21 handheld. The menu SUCKS!!! There are NO cover art, thumbnails or video clips to show games. There are only folders👎👎👎. Can I replace it with a better menu while adding games too? I'm a subscriber who has not played with the 7" handheld I purchased last year. 😫😫😫It is a decent device but the game navigation is so hard to use. Thanks for your advice. why so complicated? why can't just copy games over without connecting to strange programs?
Strange programs ? We laid out a few methods... Filezilla has been around for more than two decades.
Android does not work even when extracting microSD does not work
Sounds like the whole thing is bust. Maybe try another power supply, or contact the seller

Please contact the seller who might be able to sort you out with a way to flash the default firmware onto your box.

I used the Explorer to copy any file into ROMS folder it keeps showing the “There’s not enough space..”
How ever i can copy that file to another folder in the SD card.
Don’t know what wrong with it, can u advise?
