Cyma AK's have always been great. I remember back in 2010 with the Cyma AK I got off craigslist, it was a loaner for friends. That poor thing was abused, trampled, left out in the woods, rained on, run over by 4 wheelers. It had its share of scrapes but it always fired.

Ive bought same Cyma Ak105 from a friend for 100$ recently. And it was a huge performance upgrade for me after using Cyma AK74SU. With 0.30g BBs it was possible to shoot much further and with better accuracy than i used to. At the last single game (first with this gun) ive made more frags than in ALL my last year games together. It is cool enough as it goes from a box, but since it was cheap, ive added some modifications such as Magpul pistol grip, tactical handguad (for flashlight and fore grip), dustcover with Piccatini rails, different flashider, mag coupler. This is my favorite and definitely most cool looking Cyma Ak in my arsenal for now.

how far does the ak 105 shoot?

@@user-nn6xz5tt7w after few more games ive realised that biggest advantage of 105 over short barreled aksu74 is its accuracy. With Cyma 105 it is much easier to hit head sized targets at 30m. With .28 or .30 BBs. BBS are flying for 50m but more or less accurate shooting range is about 30m

The cyma railed dust cover is a nice pickup. Love that it hinges the top cover on. Makes battery changes a breeze

Recently opened my CM040 for some upgrades (hop rubber and some other minor upgrades) and I must say i was more than pleasantly surprised with both the quality and how the internals had held up, after 4 years of abuse (almost never cleaned, droped into sand and water, bashed against walls...) it shows no signs whatsoever of needing replacement parts or being worn down. Amazing quality for the 160 euros I paid for it new, the externals may not be E&L level but for the price and considering how durable it has proven Id dare say there is no better option for Ak replicas other than Cyma in the sub 250 euro category.

While they don't have the 040D in stock, Taiwangun has the 040 (AKS-74) and 040C (AK-74M) in stock as of writing this and will change the spring for free to something like 1.2 or .89 joules as opposed to having to pay for a new spring out the gate and install it if you want to use it at a CQB place. For US customers, even after shipping it comes out to almost the exact same price as buying the 040D on Evike (040 is $220.66, 040C is $216.61).

Long Text Ahead, TL;DR at the bottom:
I had one going about more than a year and a half of hard use. The CM040D was actually a replacement to my CM047D which I had for five years before it completely died and attempts to repair failed. Rather than waste more time or spend more money, I bought this and never looked back. I will confidently say that this is MILES better than the CM047D model which is based off a Tokyo Marui classic design rather than VFC
It's so far my favourite airsoft AK I've had the chance to field and currently my main choice for all sorts (indoor and outdoor as mine is within UK limits of 350 and under). The Cyma model might be lighter than the LCT and E&L models but it's surprisingly close in weight to a real AK105 with an empty mag out the box (3.2KG) so it's generally heavier than your bog standard M4, even metal ones.
I've however fitted 5KU Zenitco parts, with some minor modifications to get the best fit but it really helps that the receiver is still based off a VFC design like LCT, so it fit quite well. It will shoot the weight around 4.0kg minimum, mine is sitting around 4.3kg with a Holosun 503g, xcortech X501 tracer, M640DF replica, NGAL Replica, B33 Dust Cover, Sport-1 Handguard and PT-1 Gen 1 stock with a plastic mag.
In regards to the safety, I've had the standard safety for several months before moving to an extended safety, it doesn't seem to have loosen up overtime at least severely, but I throw it from safe to semi on the regular so it's a given. Used it for about a year with it stock barring the accessories before I've done some minor internal work. Swapped out the barrel for a ZCI 6.02mm barrel and ZCI hop rubber, so far doing well, but stick to the OEM hop unit, it works fine enough. I plan to get this worked on with a Mosfet, I've been running my AK with a 9.9v LiFe to get decent performance without pushing it to 11.1v which I find is a bit much.
Sadly it's not as easy to find in the UK nor is it as cheap. Importation issues most likely are screwing it up for us, so currently our best budget oriented AKs are Specna Arms (which I'll say they're actually alright if not overall better)
TL;DR: Great gun out the box, and a great budget option to turn into a sick AF Alpha AK105.

something to maybe touch on is the VFC vs TM clone spec for CYMA. There is lots of charts going around showing which models are which. I believe evike calls them sport ( TM ) and standard ( VFC )

I will always stand by cyma aks. but I think the new e&l essential line which comes ion between 250-300 dollars offers a substantially better external build quality for not more than 50-75 more dollars while also preforming well out of the box. However, I must say the cyma aks preform slightly better IMO than the e&l essential line in regards to their range mostly. But that can be fixed with a simple hop up upgrade.

E&L is also about 280 for their AKs that come with a great value and great externals and internals

If you're willing to deal with and extra 1.5 lbs and have the extra $50 and get an e&l. They have great externals although they rust but just clp it regularly when you take it out to place. It's just surface rust and I also would keep it in a rifle sock in addition to my gun bag. Even real steel guns have surface rust. I've seen it on a Remington 870 and clp cleans it right off. Don't use steel wool because it will strip the finish off. Also if you're shooting between the 2 honestly I'd go e&l so I have the money for a decent motor. Seriously. One thing cyma has over both is a motor that isn't half bad unless you're unluckyblie me where I bought a cyma ask74u and it was an older model. Slow motor no torque but I had a m100 spring
