BAZ Luhrman asked them to add a track. They only had a day in between touring to record this.
Love this version so, so much. I wish it got more attention, because the way they pay homage, respect the original and also make this song theirs is truly special to me. I personally feel myself growing tired of very busy productions - especially layered vocals, so I was pretty glad there was none to be found in this track. The rawness of it is what makes me unashamedly love it. And that voice!
yeah phenomonal!
The voice!!!!😮
Sorry, they didn't pay homage to the original at all. It totally lacks the emotion that Elvis brought to the song. The instrumentation was too aggressive, and the singer's vocals were cringe worthy.
@sharonf106 you're entitled to your wrong opinions, I don't mind.
Yeah check Maneskin singing with Dolly Parton an amazing version of JOLENE
Fantastic Maneskin rendition for a beautiful song
I absolutely love this cover 😍😍😍
Baz Luhrmann loves Maneskins, he called them personally for his movie. Thank you for the reaction of Maneskin...great reaction for a great cover.
oh wow cool
Damiano ha una voce unica, graffiante e mi piace che gli strumenti non la coprano ❤
how much I miss these reactions on Maneskin and their performances.
This was recorded in one take and to me is perfect, especially because I really hate a lot of American music so overproduced you can't recognize that nake most of the songs sounds the same... bu that's imho of course..
Anyway suggest you check out tgeir collab with Dolly Parton 2 months ago they recorded Jolene for her latest album "rockstar" 😊
I find it really hard to believe this was one take, do you mean the music or the video? I can see the video more than the music
@@JacobRestituto I confirm I mean the recording of the song.
@@JacobRestituto They only had a few hours to shoot at Graceland and record at SunStudio. Luhrmann had asked them to do it 3 or 4 days before, they were in the middle of the tour and the film had already been edited.
In My opinion, the meaning of this song is so pure that only a rendition with no artifacts can match it
Maneskin are perfect here
They said on an Instagram post that it was done in one take.
I'm a lifelong devoted Elvis fan. But, I'm always willing to hear renditions of his songs... when they honor the original takes.
Sorry, but this is a solid "no go" for me. This is an Elvis signature song that addressed the tensions of the civil rights movement at the time. Elvis delivered it soulfully, with emotion you could feel in your own heart.
This group may be talented, but they lack the emotion and totally misunderstood the assignment. Someone needs to tell them singing louder, doesn't make it sound better, it only makes you want to cover your ears.
I suggest you listen to some of their songs, especially the ballads because I think one of their strengths is exactly the ability to convey emotions. You didn't like this rendition of the song and that's ok but judging them without ever listening to their repertoire is stupid
As a group, they have stood up for LGBTQIA+ rights, and against the war in Ukraine (losing a considerable chunk of their fandom in the process, as they were followed in their millions in Russia). So I believe that they are worthy of singing this song, which can be interpreted in a broader sense as a plea against all forms of discrimination and hatred. In my opinion, Damiano conveys genuine emotion, and the cover is simple, and beautiful.
As an old Elvis fan, I understand the knee-jerk reaction, but in cases like this is impossible to be objective. Elvis' feelings, even the truest, were always conveyed in his songs through mannerisms. His own, which he considered right and functional to the song. Also, and above all, in this case. To exaggerate, it's like comparing the gestural contortions to convey suffering in an old silent film to a modern close-up in which pain is conveyed only from the eyes.
@@paolo9239I was reacting to their coverage of this song. I will definitely listen to more of their stuff.
@@mithril4723They sound like they support the things I feel strongly about. My reaction is to this song, which came out when I was 12 years old and has been a favorite for years. I'm not meaning to condemn them at all.
Very disappointed in this,This was an only Elvis Reaction Song for Elvis to MLK!!!!
