  • The Pittsburgh Steelers' need a center in the NFL Draft, but is Graham Barton an overlooked first round option? Chris Carter and Alan Saunders explore the possibility of the Steelers' drafting Barton as the next center for the franchise.
    Also, the Steelers are rumored to still be open to a trade for Brandon Aiyuk trade with the San Francisco 49ers. But what would the price be to land a top wide receiver? Would it be worth it to get that player and pass on receivers in the NFL Draft?
    Finally, are the Steelers still looking hard at linebackers in the NFL Draft?

  • @Varzaak

    Barton is one of these guys I liked in October. Every mock simulator for the last 6 months had him from #28 to#40. He is still projecting in that range. Spend #20 on him? No, trade down to around pick 28.

    • @craigmastendri3980
      @craigmastendri3980 Месяц назад +1

      Barton isnt going far beyond 20. He is certainly in play at 24 Dallas, possibly at 22 in Philly, and Tampa at 26.

    • @Varzaak
      @Varzaak Месяц назад

      @@craigmastendri3980 Dallas is a possibility. Philly has Jurgens. As far as Tampa I never saw Hainsey play, No clue what the Bucs think of him. If they do like him they will grab one later. . The Bucs problem is they don't have a QB. Mayfield left. I think this is where Bo Nix gets taken off the board.

    • @stevensharples286

      Not so sure he’ll be available 28. I’m almost certain they’ll trade down but not for Barton, for Frazier and get another 2nd round pick. (C, T, DL, WR, CB, S, LB)
      There’s no way either one of them will be on the board at 51 which leads me to believe they’ll pick their starting C 1st if they do not trade up or down. If they stay at 20 and select T 1st most if not all of the day 1 starting capable centers will be gone which IMHO would be disastrous.

    • @craigmastendri3980
      @craigmastendri3980 Месяц назад +1

      @Varzaak Mayfield signed with Tampa. All of the teams I mentioned are questionable at C, certainly not beyond grabbing the top C prospect. I would say Philly has greater need/value at corner. But Roseman is all about the trenches.
      With Dallas possibly being shorted on OT selections at that point? Barton would be the best option.
      You could factor in Arizona as well at 27. Barton is very unlikely to slide to rd 2

      @@stevensharples286 Your perspective is plausible, especially if they trade down. I dont believe they will unless the OT'S and CB'S they like are all gone. That seems unlikely. And, I think they would stick and pick Barton.

    Its kind of ironic for all those clamoring for a C to be so speculative on Barton. He is the #1 center prospect in this draft. And preferable to some tackle options. I'd absolutely take him over Guyton at 20.
    I still believe OT will be the pick if one of their preferred options are there. And while thats what I would like? I wouldnt be mad at selecting Barton.

  • @josephthornburg5244
    @josephthornburg5244 Месяц назад

    I really do not understand why people place Center at such a low positional value. It's maddening especially if you're playing against the 3-4 (Baltimore). I know most teams are moving to the 4-3 lately but still. That's your anchor and it should be an "anchor" level player.

      Grab a player that can play center (Barton) and let him learn . You have Daniel's that can play center if needed .

      I agree, it would’ve perfectly fine to have slightly overpaid a FA C rather than to be in this position… that one extra move would’ve set them up very nicely with this draft taking a OT in the first and having tons of flexibility afterwards.
      I also thought they could’ve brought in a better haul for DJ but not the end of the world…. they’ll get cheaper at the position in this draft with a rookie better suited for this offense.
