  • Here’s a quick video on the easy way to remove your snowmobile hyfax/sliders/slides, whatever you call them in your neck of the woods. They’re a sacrificial/wearable item and need to be monitored. Check out our last video on “how to inspect your snowmobile hyfax” to determine if you need to replace them (link below).

    They usually go for about $60 for a set, so it’s usually worth it instead of burning through and damaging your rails/skid with the friction of your track. Don’t forget to oil them up for easy install! Sled shown is a 1994 Yamaha Vmax 600, but the process should be pretty similar for most snowmobiles. Best of luck, hope this helps.     Im hopeful to do this today to my 99 poo 340 touring. I dont have a garage. Hoping to wing it and do it in the driveway, tip it on its side in the snow.

      @@backcountrybuilds got it done. I screwed up a bit with the cut and thet are both a little over an inch too short, asked a few buddies they said it will be fine.

      @@thumperbangin2000 mine were a bit too short when I did it on my ZR600 last year and no issues! Glad to hear it
