PowerSmart Mower Cable Replacement (DB2194SH) Self-Propelled Lawn Mower - EASY

After fighting with my recently acquired PowerSmart lawn mower, I figured this quick video might help someone out. I have the same machine with a broken drive cable spring. I have a replacement cable, but because the spring was broken, I have no idea how it makes it's way from the drive disk attachment thru the dual drive shafts and out through the access whole onto the guide wheel in the back before going up to the lever. I can't see how the cable misses all those 2 moving gears & drive chains. Can you offer me any help or is that machine long gone from your possession? I've looked everywhere on Google for a diagram. Hey an older single female that found your video to be the most helpful. You went thru each step & explained why & what to see & expect. Most importantly you didn't leave out any steps, no matter how small, which was the problem I was having with other repair videos leading me into rabbit hole after rabbit hole since I didn't actually overfill it I just tipped it the wrong way to check & clean the carburetor (from bad fuel) & must have gotten oil in the crankshaft as I noticed oil had spilled out from somewhere & in my air filter. At least I'm hoping that's the source of my problems. I have copious amounts of white smoke. However, if you happen to see this comment now in 11/24 after smoking for a minute still running I notice a hot burning smell & so turn it off. Do you know if that is the excess oil burning off or something else i have to track down. Anyway great video thank you 👍

Hey man its been a year since you posted this, have you had any issue related to a 6inch lift since a year ago? I already have 35×12.5×20 on my ram with a level kit with literally no rub but i feel it need to be lifted tires fill up to much of the wheel well, also does the rear sit higher than the front after the lift?

@@tattedone6753 funny you ask, I’m in the process of making a 100k mile after video. I still drive the truck every day and love it just as much. I now have 125,000 miles on it and have no complaints. I just did front wheel bearings about 5k miles ago, but that’s what I get for running 35s and wheel spacers. Really can’t complain for going 120,000 + miles on one set of wheel bearings. If I had any more complaints, I’d tell you! I think the rear sits about 1” higher in the back, but not a noticeable rake by any means. Thanks for watching

My problem is I put 8k in upgraded suspension and 37’ Mickey Thompsons and I’m blowing through new ball joints in 5k miles and 50% wear on my front inside tires. They warrantied new tires and ball joints but it will continue to happen- it’s a shame the professional lift shop can’t figure out what’s wrong. @@backcountrybuilds Oh boy I've done EVERYTHING you could possibly think of. I've fully dissasembled and cleaned the carb many times, and I mowed my whole large-ish lawn with the mower many times between repair attempts. Plug, gas tank, fuel line, flywheel key, valve spacing, ignition coil, you name it I've tried it. If the head gasket is good, I guess I'll just pack it away until next spring and just start using it again with fresh gas and seafoam for a few weeks and hopefully it clears itself up. If its not the gasket, I'm hoping its gunk on the piston rings reducing compression. If you take the air filter off while it runs, it still runs well but has a noticeable amount of blowby out the vent.
