As I remember in the DP anime, ash was falling down and his gligar comes to save him but because he wasn’t so good at flying like Paul’s gliscor was, ash throws the Razor Claw at gligar and then he evolves into gliscor in the DP anime and saves ash. But ash had already had the razor claw already on him in that episode. As long as I’ve watched the anime for 24 years since 2000, when Pokémon evolves for the main cast, it always never seems to amazes me. Like I’m shocked at times when the evolutions happen especially during tournaments arcs, gym battles, or important fights. I didn’t think that both liko and Roy’s pokemon would evolve but they did in these recent episodes.

It would've been more interesting for me if he caught Capsaiji (idk English name) more than Wattrel evolving. It's amazing that it evolved but Wattrel has little screentime that it feel unearned. I still can't believe that it evolve before Fuecoco. I hope Capsaiji returns to be caught by Roy.

It's such a waste that Capsaiji wasn't caught. The build up was perfect and it would've fit right in the team.
