I really like this anime 😂

Yea this is definitely a turn your brain show. It was good animation but nothing was resolved and like you said the flashbacks were pointless. Not only that we missed out on the girls fight as well

I respect your opinion but for me this was another great episode... I really don't mind the story going slow when it looks this good... And besides the amazing art/animation of Will's and Sion's fight, I appreciated the studio including the backstory for Sion I heard was from the prequel LN to explain why he despises Will so much. Also, sometimes understanding where a character is coming from doesn't mean you have to agree/sympathize with him, but imho it does make them a better written character.

It was pretty okay. Still felt like the anime was dragging it out even though we have two weeks left of the show ( ep 7 and 8). They better give us a season 2 announcement by the end of the showing (assuming there’s enough source content)

Two things. Lefiya Viridis and Filvis Challai are both characters from DanMachi. What the heck are they doing in this show? I think that making Sion some kind of yandere tsundere is not good writing. He can’t have a redemption arc based on that weak sauce.

It is kinda funny how you mentioned liking both Liko and Dot. Technically, both characters were introduced in the first episode. Even though we didn’t get to actually see Dot for a while, we were used to her persona, and it wasn’t a surprise that her persona was a literal and figurative mask. She received significant development in her earlier appearances, such as feeling bad for how she treated Liko, eating her Uncle’s food, and going out of her way to find Liko. It feels like her development has generally been fueled by Liko and to a lesser extent her Uncle. We’ve seen her come a long way. Roy was shown briefly at the end of Episode 3 and fully introduced in Episode 4

yeah, a lot of stuff condensed. I remember she went through a lot of technical stuff with her fridge. she uses 2 ice stones and a wind stone to blow the cold through pipes with the upper part the coldest. but two ice stones overloaded the magic circuits. With the two crystal glasses she asked him how he would like it if a friend kept bringing him expensive items. They are doing a really good job so far. and i do love the opening music. so catchy.

I still have yet to give this anime a try like you said I’m raised on the first Pokémon, so it’s hard to do any other. I just wish I could find all the indigo series somewhere. Lol

Considering Roy’s starter is the last to evolve, I think it showcases he’s currently the weakest.

Am I the only one who feels kind of old thinking about her time traveling to _1992?_ Like, 2008 was the half way point between then and now, and in my mind 2008 wasn't _that_ long ago.

i love the show. its awesome. haters gonna hate.. but i find it great. one of the best show so far.

Obviously a great episode with luce and syl. Now we need to see a grown up syl. Luce was great.

I agree on Roy being the weakest character of the 3. Even tho I want to see more of the other two, then I think this and the next 1-2 episodes will be good development for him. I am not gonna complain about seeing nemona some more and get some battleling from her :) I am a bit sad about how dirty they do kilowattrel. It really deserves better than this!! Overall I think this is a good episode when you combine it with the next 1-2 episodes, but that is yet to be seen :) without I will call it a decent episode as you have done in this review. Looking forward to next week!

I also thought this was a really good episode. What I liked the most from this episode is all the artifacts Dalia was making on her own and with Wolfred... But for me, this episode didn't include much if any romantic progression and I'm not expecting much progress in that regards anytime soon as they already agreed to just be friends (I think Dalia and Wolfred simply became better acquainted/closer friends in this episode and nothing more). Anyways, I hope you have a good vacation next week!

Really good episode imho (If the art/animation had been better, I think it could have been a great episode). The gloves of reason (I suspect a mistranslation and it's probably gloves of force) that Kaito found are able to exert an invisible force (essentially telekinesis) at the cost of some of his MP, and by using these gloves with his magical dagger he can cast what is effectively a wind blade spell without actually casting any wind... Kaito used it to cut the water without touching the water with the blade, and I think he could presumably silent cast the same spell underwater--I think he actually doesn't need to say "Burst-o" when casting the spell, but doing so helps him generate the necessary image of a wind-blade spell in his mind. Regarding the money he got from the gem, I think he should save it for college, but he's likely going to have to spend a large portion of what remains after taxes on equipment/supplies for himself and his servants/familiars. I think he made the right decision on splitting the money four ways as setting a precedent to always split the rewards could help to reduce/avoid issues of jealousy/greed in the party. I believe Luce temporarily unlocked her true/adult form due to her spell (not Kaito's) called Beauty of Gluttony--said spell allows her to increase her stats in exchange for a portion of someone's HP with the exchange rate being higher the more trust that person has in her. This was really cool, and I'm hoping Syl will eventually unlock a similar spell. And besides gaining information from the new devil servant Kaito gained, I think it's good for Kaito to no longer be the only dude in the party.

I’m telling you Dalia felt like Willy Wonka this whole episode. I really really loved it. What a fun episode.

I loved the zero planning consistency. The instant regret from summoning that devil was effing hysterical! Luce told him multiple times it was low level, and he still got so mad.

Bit late on this. But I personally teased up watching this episode. When the dad died specifically. I could tell how much he loved his daughter and the soft music really made me tear up a bit. It’s rly warm and cuddly seeing two people bond over similar interests. But Tobias can F off! Dhalia’s too good for that dbag!

I would have been one of those boys hitting on the teacher.

I enjoyed this episode. Bc it shone a light on Kana through Akane’s detective skills. This was like a part 1 episode lol. I honestly forgot this episode was coming LOL

I mean… they did kinda say that the war is like a world war. Involving nearly if not all countries in their world. Or the world they know of. Dunno if there are more countries or continents they don’t know of or not.

Really good episode imho... I liked the backstory of their new advisor, Mayuri, and the comedy was pretty good... Fair warning: Based on what Ririsa said previously about loving Okumura only as a cosplay partner, I think the focus is going to be primarily on the cosplay for the rest of the season (both cours) and that the romance is going to be really slow... Also, I think there's at least a couple more girls to be introduced from the OP and I don't expect Okamura to officially become a couple with anyone anytime soon... So if you can't deal with the slow romantic progression I think you might want to consider dropping this series.

There are way too many red flags with the teacher. The excessive drinking, the secrets, the knife threat, her being really handsy, … She’s kind of a nightmare.

Yeah, if i had to make the percentage of boring/fun time during the show, i would say 85/15. BUT, it's like a thriller, they'll catch you all the time thinking something spectacular is going to happen... but... no. Perhaps it's the effect of 3rd episode upon us after all this time

I didn't mind the Saki journal log, i kinda enjoyed getting a different perspective/ filling in missing pieces of the time-line we already saw. I can understand tho it being viewed as boring. Like you've been saying it teeters the line of boredom. Its definitely a slow burn anime with cinematic vibes

The first few LN volumes get a little traction out of giving us just Yuta's perspective and challenging us to wonder about the other characters, but then confirming certain things at the end via Saki's diary. Although I do agree with you that it could have been adapted better (assuming time and talent to do so). Thinking about the future volumes I can see some challenges (which could be overcome) with giving too much narration, but again I think it would have been worth the challenge to give the audience a bit more of a hint into the characters. I'd anticipated we'd just get just a few high lights from Saki's diary, instead they gave us the whole thing with relatively slow pacing too. IMO the top points are as follows, and only #1 and maybe #2 really add much of value. 1. The big one is obviously that she's feeling jealousy, and most certainly in a somewhat romantic sense. 2. The other kind of big thing is that she's lying, and while she is trouble by that she basically decided to keep on. 3. The anime didn't show us the scene that she'd been waiting for Yuta when he put the blanket on her (the LN does so in that case the diary is just confirmation that she'd intentionally been waiting for him). 4. Confirmation of her time frame of her time frame for getting the job (somewhat related to #2). So much comes down to pacing. IMO I suspect the extended movie was done so that the date part could be spaced to the end of that episode, but it then shifted other stuff around - like they could have done a shortened diary at the end of the previous episode and then started vol. 3 content at the start of this one instead of part way through. Yes, the August events that we've gotten to are now volume 3. A couple points were skipped for time, I'm not sure if they'll skip around on the next episode to show us any of that, although it seems somewhat unlikely. Speaks to issues of pacing and choosing what to leave in vs cut (e.g. while it was cute, did we really need the scene with Yuta helping Saki find the book if it meant cutting other content). Well, IMO the one good thing they did with the "jealousy" at the end of the episode is make us wonder how that might tie into any of Saki's current behavior.

What can we say, another 10/10 episode.

We learned a lot in this episode but sadly not much Alya lol. I agree with you it's probably best new anime of the season from all those I watched.

I really loved this episode because it focused on Akane and Kana. I’m a huge fan of acting, so I find it interesting how they had very different journeys. I’m glad you picked up on Kana’s struggles because a lot of people took her actions the wrong way. Kana says that the best actor isn’t important it’s what sells, but you can tell how painful that is for her. This is the same girl who felt dissatisfied with her acting in the movie that she begged for a reshoot. It’s really sad that she’s getting less work and only being used for her name. It also sounds like the role isn’t one that even challenges her, but she’s being given it rather than the chance to even audition for a main role.

Don’t underestimate the lengths a narcissist is willing to go to in order to destroy someone’s life who they feel crossed them. There might be a good reason for hiding his connection to his sibling.

I agree that this was a really good episode, though for me it was only 2nd best for this series--I liked the episode where Naoru stood up for herself and told off Jun and Rumi a little more. I also believe Rumi should have been honest with her friend, but instead I think she's using her to try and make Naori jealous, which so far seems to be working but I can easily see this backfiring in the long term.

Really good episode imho... A student council position is important for a lot of people as there's a lot of competition to get into a good college and it looks really good on a resume. Also, social culture is much stricter in Japan... Assuming Masachika let it slip that they are related and word got back to gramps I think Yuki would likely end up in another school possibly somewhere far away, so for me that's a big enough threat for Masachika to keep his mouth shut that they are blood related.

It might not be as impactful as previous weeks, but for me it was still a really good episode. I'm continuing to really enjoy the presentation of the stage play and it was good to see Akane's backstory.

My second favorite part of the Tokyo Blade, arc and beautifully The admiration in the rivalry between these girls is a masterpiece.

I agree! It annoyed me too how we’ve learned Will is strong and talented, but then they have him taking a test with a wand he can’t use, carrying on the misconception that he’s untalented. It ticked me off when he was about the punch the golem and those two made fun of him more it when he could have easily put a hole in it. I mean, at least let him use his sword! Though what I did like was how well he got along with the dwarves and how he stood up for them. He looked pretty badass. Though I have no idea how he’s going to be part of a ‘magic’ festival…
