Thank you! I was getting confused about which way I should really install Kali and was also wary of downloading it. I was thinking virtualization would work, but I'd just heard so many complaints about installing it and its stability. This was so easy and I like that Google has Kali in their app store. I was unaware of that.

Is it similar to using virtual machine? I mean VM and windows are not connected to each other and kali will be shown as the only OS in laptop?

Personal preference
After "apt update" make sure to type "apt upgrade", otherwise nothing will be updated. Also, afrer "service start xrdp" you may want to type: "sudo update-rc.d xrdp enable", so that you don't have to start the xrdp service after every reboot.
