SOMA's also good for this Halloween. It's from the same developers of Amnesia, but it's not just that game underwater if that's what you want. It's scary because of it's atmosphere, setting and the questions it asks the player. And I love seeing something much more meaningful in a genre that’s deserving of more than just simple jump scares.
+supercormey Well your only looking at the surface elements. You get more out of it when you pull back the layers and dig deeper into it. That's where it's at it's most scary. Because who knows. Maybe we aren't to far off from living this game's source material.
+L Pendergast Not at all scary, not even creepy. It is a great exploration/adventure game which raises excellent question about what it means to be human or even alive. But it is NOT a horror game. The monsters feel more like a nuisance than actual threats, getting in the way of your exploration.
+L Pendergast I remember i saw a few movies with the subject of Soma..like this grandfather wanting to replace his son consciousness into a robot he built then the grandfather take his own life and put himself into a robot..I forgot the movie name But I buy SOMA because it remind me of that story and i love that interesting storyline.Plus cr1tikal played it.
Damn man I didn't know people had such a passion of hate towards fnaf. I mean sure the game sucks ass in a lot of areas, but that doesn't detour from the fact that it's a game that can be played and enjoyed with a group of friends on a Halloween night. This wasn't a top 10 horror games list guys. You guys need to stop taking things so seriously.
+EVOL SCAVENGER At least from my perspective, it's not really the game itself as to why FNAF is hated so much, but moreso the fact that it has a very vocal and annoying fanbase that has turned off a lot of people from the franchise.
No you dont understand. THEY HAD JUNJI ITO WORKING ON IT TOO! The master of Japanese horror. This game wouldn't have changed Silent Hill, or horror, but gaming as a whole with a narritive as artistic as that would have been
***** Hue hue XD and honestly I found the hate bandwagon overrated even before I started liking the show (I think it was 2-3 seasons in when I actually gave it a chance)
+GENER CAP It was the first game which was the scariest. HB probably listed this because back in August of 2014 it was one of THE scariest horror games
+GENER CAP What a poor and miserable excuse for disliking. People like you are the reason why the internet is shit now. You can ignore basically nothing.
+LilBizzyl remember or if you didnt know DD has a new chanel to work on now so making vids for it and his other two channels are prolly taking up his time, if you look he did do the last few videos before hellbent's latest one, and like i said before i like hellbent for the serious video voice he has just as much as i like DD for his goofy sillyness :)
I really want to make my own horror game, and this is the concept. You are a rich young teenage girl with schizophrenia, and you are trapped in your own mansion alone since your family is gone for a week. You begin to have hallucinations, and to you the house looks like something from a horror movie. You encounter a monster that has a giant mouth for a face. In a twist of events, if you let the monster get you, it's revealed that you killed yourself. Also the whole time you get hidden messages to "Stop running, it isn't real, it isn't real."
The final objective is to find the "good" ending, where you end up waking up in a hospital. If you don't, the "bad" ending is that you are trapped in the twisted reality forever.
+HatsODoom seems like nintendon't being in such bad shape, they would remake or remaster it. the last nintendon't console i bought was a gamecube and i would drop some cash on a wii u or nx for that game alone. how many other ppl would do the same?
I'd say all the intolerable people that dislike for FNAF are just as cancerous as the fanbase itself, the only thing worse than liking something dumb is to hate someone else's enjoyment of something you aren't into, like getting mad at someone for not having the same sandwich at subway that you do. Grow up.
+I Are Techticus There's a simple solution for that; See a fnaf thing? DONT CLICK IT. I capitalized all of it for you so that maybe you'll understand better
yeah it's not to scary at the beginning it is kind of goofy and kids can play it without totally and utterly soiling themselves. yeah that game does deserve to be on this list. by the way I hated when the deer God/man chases you.
+Dark “Death” Severus This game was already mentioned. If you haven't seen it, watch Dolan's "cute games that are actually terrifying" video. Spooky's house of jumpscares is on there
Great selections! But I might have to disagree with you on Silent Hill 2's voice acting. From my own interpretation, the wonkiness of the voice acting is supposed to show the mental state of the characters. You could always tell that there was something really off with them when they talked. Sometimes, it almost seemed as if they were talking straight out of a dream of sorts. It added to the overall mystery of the game because it gave subtle hints that these characters are damaged; some more damaged than others. If there's anything that's remotely questionable though, it would be David Schaufele's vomiting noises with Eddie.
+RaGe Wins fnaf didn't make it on the list for how scary it is it made it on the list for the lore and story . this is not a list of the scariest games but the best to play around Halloween.
The One If you look closely, I wasn't talking about the fans, I was talking about the haters. Look at the fucking comments section. There are so very few decent comments. Almost every single one of them is somebody whining about FNaF. The haters are making their _own_ fandom, and it's even more annoying than bronies.
Ronoroa Zoro Please explain. Oh, right. You can't. Because you're only being an ass because I have a difference opinion than you. Look, kid, look at the comments section. What do you see? More FNaF hate comments than anything else. You guys think FNaF is annoying, yeah, we get it. It's also annoying to see nothing but 'FNaF SUKS!' and 'FNaF IS NOT SCARY!' And I'm not arguing whether or not it's scary. No, I'm saying that the FNaF haters are more annoying than the fanboys. It's like a whole new fandom, and it's a fandom even worse than bronies. And if you _still_ think I'm a 'different kind of stupid' then at least state your reasons instead of saying insults that don't mean anything at all to me. Because your insults really mean nothing to me, and you're making yourself look like a whiny little child just calling people stupid. I mean, what are you, 6?
Where did I imply that FNaF is my favorite game? There are exactly 2 games under the horror genre that I enjoy(Outlast and Until Dawn) And I'll admit I might have worded some things wrongly, and I apologize for that. And I'm criticizing the FNaF haters because the entire bloody comments section is filled with nothing _but_ them, and while I don't care about their opinions on FNaF, it is rather annoying to see them everywhere I look in this comments section. But hey, maybe I'm the only one that thinks the haters are over-doing it a little. I mean, clearly _they_ don't think so. But all that aside, I'm sensing some serious irony here. You criticize me about making a long rant, yet the comment you just typed up is a long rant. And no, people criticizing me doesn't exactly give me time. It just gives me something to do. And it's all worth it in the end because I get to see these half-assed comments from people that don't like me, and then I just get a good laugh.
"Sweet Home" I now this probably wouldn't be on the list as few know about it but I still want to mention it. Sweet Home was a Japanese-exclusive horror RPG for the famicom and N.E.S. The story was very dark and gruesome and the atmosphere was great. The gameplay itself was intense and addictive, probably the best RPG for the system. If you like horror I strongly recommend it.
FNAF the epitome of jumpscares?First of all Jumpscares do NOT make a GOOD horror game, atmosphere does. Second of all after the first night the jumpscares in FNAF become extremely predictable. I'm not saying it's not a good series but jesus Hellbent you praised it WAY too much
I think that "Haunting Ground" deserves to make it on this list more than FNAF does. It's one of the best horror games I've ever played and although it's a tad bit older already and the mechanics are nothing new, it still gives me the chills.
I feel you may have toned down F.E.A.R's potential when you did not mention that Alma the little girl, a pychodelic satist trying to mess with your mind and creep you out while giving you enemies from the organization that created and hid her away for so many years. Although the plot is underated it still instills a creepy factor that literally messes with your mind and makes you want to hesitate to continue or persue your mission. Another mention is after playing this play F.E.A.R 2 as Alma is seriously out to get you in every way possible with new enemies and a great story, this is the ideal game for Halloween.
The video says 15 creepiest games why y'all talking about only 1 of those. I don't like fnaf either but this fnaf hater shitstorm in every video were it's mentioned is fucking annoying.
Kaiman JIG why? I think you aren't getting what I said. I find annoying that, in every video were fnaf is mentioned, there's are tons of haters talking shit about the game when is irrelevant in the video.
Games that should've been on here : -Fran Bow -SOMA -Night Blights -Among The Sleep -Spooky's House of Jumpscares -Until Dawn (honestly) -The Rake game -Slender -Dead Realm
Eternal Darkness as No1! Good call Mr Dolan! Best horror game ever that doesn't get the love it deserves due to being GCN exclusive and with a release overshadowed by Metroid Prime. Praise Xel'lotath!
Yay for Eternal Darkness being number 1. Not only do I remember being intrigued by the plot as it unfolded, I also recall almost losing my sanity for real when the game "deleted" my save. Awesome list!
+MudkipWarrior306 It's not really that "good" of a creepy game. It's more shock value than anything. It uses stock sound effects, and their imagery is taken from several sites that hosts those sorts of things (Like thatsphucked to name one).
My favorite hallucination in Eternal Darkness is when the flies start appearing on your TV screen. When I saw the first fly appear I actually reached towards it to see if it was real.
+Dread Gear I actually completely forgot about that game, but now that I think about it... Either game in the A.M. series would actually be pretty comfortable on this this. Good Call.
To those saying FNAF doesn't deserve to be here, it does. I mean, you the Jumpscares get old, but the lore is pretty good. No one is spot on with it and it keeps bringing people back to figure it out. There are far more reasons to play a game than just playing start to finish without taking the story into consideration. If you play just to play, then you are really just curb stomping the creators intentions and love for their game. That goes for all games. from the games that should have died off a long time ago, GTA halo COD, to games just starting up, can't think of any at the moment lol. All games should be liked for what they are and the hard work and dedication that took to get them to where they are. Don't have to play them, just appreciate the fact that they are what they are. Not everyone likes to read, but I guarantee that there is a book somewhere that would appeal to you. Not everyone likes the same games but there is a game for everyone. For example, my grandparents aren't huge fans of video games, think they are a waste of time, grandpa plays words with friends, and my grandma plays every Zelda game and get favorite game is The Legend of Mana. There is a game for everyone
Only the first one though , they got rushed by the second one. Scott knowing that he is rolling in money he decided to continue making these and eventually less effort have been put into them. I do admit the first one scared me And the second, but by the third game the jumps scares were too predictable making the game less fun also i absolutely hate the fandom it is at the cringe factor worst than ponies and anime combined.
+Tobias Johansson the joke is about Dolan (or whoever makes the thumbnails) using red bold circles in 2015, maybe the red circles that has a zoom of the thumbnail is okay but the plain red circle they use to help us know what to look at is funny.
Putting Eternal Darkness first made my day thank you one of the most creative horror game i ever played i love SH2 and ED the same i can't honestly choose.
it was 2011...Halloween night i was alone in my house all lights off headphones on full blast.......playing Nancy Drew:Shadow At The Water's Edge........basically.... that was a night that i got no sleep....the background music that one of them gets creepier and demonic as it plays.....the creepy Japanese setting....the "ghost" or Yurei scenes......especially the bathroom mirror scene.....all of that and more made me hide my eyes .....when possible that is still ya Nancy Drew games for ages 10 and up....pffft the shit in Shadow at the waters edge makes that game only for ages 15 and up...the scares as well as the puzzles....Sodoku.....Color door lock puzzle....Renograms......the Nonogram near the end of the game...still bottom line it's probably the scariest ND game i've ever played and i've played and beaten most of them the only ones i haven't played is ghost dogs of moon lake as well as the shattered madilinon...and ghost of Thornton hall
Michael Bachelor that one wasn't really scary in my opinion it was just weird and disturbing with the graveyard names hunt as well as finding all the glass eyes
+Anarky Clan Jesus Christ, FNAF got so much hate even when it's on the second lowest spot on a top 15 list people still get a meltdown over it. This list was meant for games that fits the spirit Halloween not games that are just terrifying.
Mew2King's Marth But how does FNAF fit the spirit of Halloween better than Until Dawn? They are both unrelated to Halloween except one is scary, which is the main purpose of Halloween...
I've been really wanting to delve into some horror games with Halloween being right around the corner. This kind of list was just what I wanted, thank you for the suggestions!
Why did say FNAF now alot of people are going 2 say FNAF is Autism or FNAF is Cancer or better yet The FNAF Fandom is so weird and makes porn of the Animatronics JUST LIKE EVERY FANDOM
The fandom is EXACTLY the same as all the others, and it's just hated on for being popular. anyone who thinks the games are bad needs to realise that they were made by ONE MAN.
Fnaf wasn't #1? I'm disappointed Just kidding. In all honesty it's not even that scary after the first one or two jump scares and they become more annoying than scary
Oh god every comment is just Fnaf is so overrated Fnaf isn't scary Fnaf is dead. You know what I think : Scott cawthon (creator of fnaf) sits in front of his pc, reads this dumb comments and laughs so hard because this haters have nothing better to do than hating his games
Eternal Darkness is masterpiece of horror! I love everything about it. The gameplay is nice, the atmosphere is creepy, and overall a great game to play.
Undertale. While not a "scary" game it holds a whimsical world of monsters with a sinister undertone bubbling beneath the surface. If you're looking to explore a more jovial side to Halloween, this game will give you exactly the feeling you are looking for.
I find Bioshock 1 and 2 to be worthy games to consider for this time of year; they may not be the scariest but boy does the setting and story feel so right
THANK YOU!!!! I love Eternal Darkness and I feel like not enough puerile know what it is. I can't tell you how pissed I was the first time I thought that the data was getting erased off my memory card or that it made you think that you were just playing a demo.
i love Don't Starve. highly recommend playing it if you are up for a challenge. plus i really enjoy the art style and quirkiness. HellBent is right though, the game will kick your ass (especially if you've never played it before). and the Reign of Giants dlc dramatically ramps up the difficulty.
Before anyone gets up in arms about Fnaf being included in this list, remember that Don't Starve, quite possibly the last thing I would've expected to appear on account of it not being a horror game, ranked two parts higher than Fnaf. Honestly, I'm just glad my favorite game is getting even more publicity while the newest (most likely last) DLC is in the works. As much as I love Fallout, I'm more hyped for the new Don't Starve DLC than I am Fallout 4 (and I can't wait for Fallout 4.)
I had to get drunk to play Project Zero. There were so many clever, creepy insertions in those games making it completely unpredictable, like looking through a random gap in a wall and a ghost slowly peering through it. o.o
Why does Bioshock not make this list?? Though not technically supernatural horror, but the creepy factor on it is off the roof. It uses what a lot of horror games nowadays forget, subtlety. There is just no feeling that can replace when you found a trap door and your gamer instincts kick in to go through it to farm for items, so you dive in, crawl through the tight hole, open the opposite trap door..... to stare at a pair of feet still wearing high heels.... lifted off the ground.... just hanging there lifelessly..... It just sinks in like a ton of bricks...
I thought you were going to leave eternal darkness off the list and I was about to cry 😭 my favorite game of all time. You can't beat running around with your sanity meter depleted and your head randomly falls off and you have to go back and pick it up all the way to the game making you think your deleting all your save files instead of saving them. If you can play this game on (only for) GameCube or an emulator don't hesitate to do so you seriously won't regret it.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was a great game/story, very creepy, quite different. It also had a well done sanity "meter" that messed up your vision and quite often the tension and panic felt very real. I highly recommend it, even if it's a little dated.
Very nice, you mentioned the Forbidden Siren series. My god I remember starting in number 2, when you are in the room, you walk downstairs and open the door, I shit my pants and turned off the console... 5 minutes record...
Eternal Darkness is one of the most mind F***k games out their. one time i was playing and out of nowhere Head exploded and i was like WTF then a flashback like thing happened and i was so upset at that game. man i love that game. I played it many many time when i first got it.
"The later games in the resident evil series are about as scary as an episode of goosebumps" *sees resident evil 8 and plays through for the first time* he was never the same again
I was playing Fatal Frame 2 with a friend and we encountered a peaceful ghost on a small bridge. I told my friend to take a picture and send the poor ghost onward. He did and the damn thing turned around and attacked, scaring the hell out of the both of us.
Luigis mansion creeped me out and drew me in with its steady pace of music and mild creepiness its and enjoyable horror game with some light jumpscares :) so 15 fits it. Glad it even made it in this list
Even though you can't download it anymore, P.T. should be very high on this list, it's probably the creepiest game I've seen and I don't know anyone who has been able to play it by themselves.
Here's a list of scary horror games I'd play on Halloween. -Bioshock -Condemned Criminal Origins -Doom 3 -Dead Space 1 -F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon -F.E.A.R. 2
I'm genuinely-surprised that a Nintendo horror game got on the top of this list, and I'm fairly satisfied with all content mentioned above being on this list to begin with.
Just one correction about the night vision in Outlast: it eats batteries faster than a goddamn Virtual Boy! Good that someone left all those batteries lying around for no apparent reason.
My favorite horror games are Silent Hill series, RE 1-3, Fatal Frame series, Siren Blood Curse, Kuon, Haunting Grounds, Outlast, and Alien: Isolation. Perfect for getting nightmares :D
Dead Space is really my favorite creepy/horror game. I will never forget the first one, that shit was scary when you don't know what you're really getting into. The other ones are a bit creepy but nothing like entering the Ishimura for the first time
Same here! My brother in law brought it over one day a few years ago, I went in totally blind. All he said was "You really should play this". Been a huge fan ever since. I'm in the middle of Dead Space 2 atm, perfect time of year for another play through of the original, too.
+L Pendergast Absolutely agree with you on that. I love when you actually have to think about the story of a game to really enjoy it to the fullest.
+supercormey Well your only looking at the surface elements. You get more out of it when you pull back the layers and dig deeper into it. That's where it's at it's most scary. Because who knows. Maybe we aren't to far off from living this game's source material.
+L Pendergast So is this game for us who long for a new BioShock game? Just....holding the plasmid powers and guns?
+L Pendergast Not at all scary, not even creepy. It is a great exploration/adventure game which raises excellent question about what it means to be human or even alive. But it is NOT a horror game. The monsters feel more like a nuisance than actual threats, getting in the way of your exploration.

This wasn't a top 10 horror games list guys. You guys need to stop taking things so seriously.
+EVOL SCAVENGER It was over used as cash cow for RUclipsrs and quickly became obnoxious.
+Hellbent And then there's just the annoying people who refuse to like popular things because they think it makes them unique.
+EVOL SCAVENGER At least from my perspective, it's not really the game itself as to why FNAF is hated so much, but moreso the fact that it has a very vocal and annoying fanbase that has turned off a lot of people from the franchise.
+Netaro the internet voted it the fourth worst, after steven universe, bronies, and furries.
People don't just hate it because it sucks ass. They hate it because it sucks ass, and is literally everywhere.
Calm down people, FNAF is only 14 on the list! Are you really going to dislike the video just because of that? Why can't you fucking ignore it?!
+BlueZero2945 If anything on the Internet has FNAF listed they will hate on it. Haters have nothing else to do
+Giggle Bear They're really annoying now.
Typical fnaf kid I don't hate video but I hate number 14
+BlueZero2945 because that's a cancer to horror games
Bill Nye the Science Guy Haters are cancer to my brain
You know what WAS a fantasticly scary game? P.T. #FucKonami
Man I cannot finish that game I still have it and I couldn't walk past that bitch standing in the hallway
+Billiamiscool no way to get it anymore rigth?
Dominic Thibeault yep :/
Haha, kona mi means my wife in Norwegian!
No you dont understand. THEY HAD JUNJI ITO WORKING ON IT TOO! The master of Japanese horror. This game wouldn't have changed Silent Hill, or horror, but gaming as a whole with a narritive as artistic as that would have been
The anti-FNAF movement is slowly crawling its way up into being just as obnoxiously annoying as the FNAF hype movement.
+Shipoopiism I feel it's the same way with MLP :P
I don't hate the series. But I felt that it kinda of lost it's scare factor. I think the series needs an overhaul.
+Shipoopiism Most of them don't even play the game, I think its alright but I don't think its GOTY
***** Hue hue XD and honestly I found the hate bandwagon overrated even before I started liking the show (I think it was 2-3 seasons in when I actually gave it a chance)
IKR
Im surprised Bio-shock didn't make the list
I'm shocked fnaf did
funny thing that fnaf made it .... realy fuck you fnaf ....
+Nino Joel fnaf is no where near to scary.
Bioshock is not that scary wtf
+Mattness
Its not, BUT ITS SOOOO GOOD!
I've had Dead Space 2 for 4 years and I've probably played a collective 30 min lol. That game creeps me the f*** out man.
+EVOL SCAVENGER bought it myself last monday , still haven't got the guts to play lol .
Try playing it with the troll music playing on the background, that will definitely make the experience more acceptable
+Hellbent I completely agree bro. Btw great job on the video and thanks for replying to both my comments lol.
+EVOL SCAVENGER I never played that series. I'm going to have to get em.
+Hellbent You should look into Allison road, it might be just what you want from a horror game.
Also great choices for the video!
0:00 : **like**
0:38 : **dislike and quit**
FNAF fans are horror games casuals.
so true
fnaf is not scary
+GENER CAP It was the first game which was the scariest. HB probably listed this because back in August of 2014 it was one of THE scariest horror games
People find diffrent things scary
+GENER CAP What a poor and miserable excuse for disliking. People like you are the reason why the internet is shit now. You can ignore basically nothing.
So is this Hellbents channel now??
Yes.
(obey him or die)
+justanotherpictureofabadassaircraft lol calm down bro
+LilBizzyl He is just filling is. Dolan is probably busy with other things
+LilBizzyl remember or if you didnt know DD has a new chanel to work on now so making vids for it and his other two channels are prolly taking up his time, if you look he did do the last few videos before hellbent's latest one, and like i said before i like hellbent for the serious video voice he has just as much as i like DD for his goofy sillyness :)
i dont think so, he'd only narate the certain video as Danger Dolan Gaming and Hellbent is now co-operative.

***** Perhaps one day, glad somebody likes my idea
Maybe the whole "hallucinations" takes a bit away from it. I mean, maybe they should be demons that nobody else can see?
SANES TEH SKOLLOTAN good idea, and so she wasn't completely crazy.
+TheCreepyGirl Damn, that's a really good idea for a game X'3
Pls make it!
Eternal Darkness is number 1?! ALRIGHT MAN! Love this game! We need another game with this sanity mechanic!
+HatsODoom seems like nintendon't being in such bad shape, they would remake or remaster it. the last nintendon't console i bought was a gamecube and i would drop some cash on a wii u or nx for that game alone. how many other ppl would do the same?
Expectation: FNAF fanboys going crazy about Fnaf being on the list.
-_- Reality: FNAF haters going crazy about Fnaf being on the list.
I'd say all the intolerable people that dislike for FNAF are just as cancerous as the fanbase itself, the only thing worse than liking something dumb is to hate someone else's enjoyment of something you aren't into, like getting mad at someone for not having the same sandwich at subway that you do. Grow up.
+mrROFLstudios We don't hate the enjoyment, we hate the shitty game. And for mostly 1 reason too - JUMPSCARES AREN'T SCARY!
+mrROFLstudios It's hard not to get pissed when there is no escaping from it.
I Agree with you,im part of the fanbase and I admit that sometimes were annoying. But hating someone because he likes something you hate is stupid.
+I Are Techticus There's a simple solution for that; See a fnaf thing? DONT CLICK IT. I capitalized all of it for you so that maybe you'll understand better
Tyler Gibbs Doesn't matter, non FNAF related or FNAF related, they're everywhere.
You should've included Spooky's House of Jumpscares! It has a nice Halloween vibe and once you get far enough into it, it gets REALLY terrifying.
yeah it's not to scary at the beginning it is kind of goofy and kids can play it without totally and utterly soiling themselves. yeah that game does deserve to be on this list. by the way I hated when the deer God/man chases you.
I wouldn't say terrifying but i would say dark
I got like 50 rooms then stopped cause of being scared of a thing following me
Did you mean SPOOPY'S House of Jumpscares !?
+Dark “Death” Severus This game was already mentioned. If you haven't seen it, watch Dolan's "cute games that are actually terrifying" video. Spooky's house of jumpscares is on there

They changed the puking noise for the European and US version. In the original Japanese you can hear chunks hitting the bowl and all.
No, it was just pretty bad voice acting.
+Corbin Hood (Naokat) the original wasnt but you must be talking about the HD collection which yes
***** uhh... what.
Corbin Hood Hey, we all have different opinions here ^^
Where is Until Dawn????
I know right it's way scarier than five nights at freddys :/
+RaGe Wins fnaf didn't make it on the list for how scary it is it made it on the list for the lore and story . this is not a list of the scariest games but the best to play around Halloween.
Nightmare Springtrap Oh yeah my bad.
+RaGe Wins it's okay. I'm sorry if I came out as rude.
Nightmare Springtrap It's okay.

I'm not saying it's not a good series but jesus Hellbent you praised it WAY too much
+Ashuraman Might just be what he's reading in the script xD
Nick Mercy That he probably wrote
He's just saying how it is.
Pastor Russell Except no, FNAF is NOT the epitome of Jumpscares, there are games that use Jumpscares much better than FNAF does
***** That's just a personal opinion of his, are you trying to go against his opinion?
I think that "Haunting Ground" deserves to make it on this list more than FNAF does. It's one of the best horror games I've ever played and although it's a tad bit older already and the mechanics are nothing new, it still gives me the chills.
I think that left 4 dead is a great game for Halloween. It's a good coop zombie game and it will occasionally creep you out
Yes yes yes yes
Hi Conor :3
+blackeyedconor it's nowhere near creepy
+blackeyedconor its only scary when you make the hord come
I said hi you fat fuck
Fnaf is not scary :3
I was being sarcastic
It's overrated
+dark bum it really isn't
it is well in story
+dark bum its scary at first then becomes boring and frustrating if you keep failing
Siren blood curse is fucking horrifying.
yeah ikr
lol. "fucking terrifying" the exact words i used in my comment on siren.
So fnaf being mentioned is annoying t so the haters aren't annoying I just lost brain cella
+Kaiman JIG cells
Kaiman JIG excuse me, what?
I lost brain cells
Kaiman JIG why? I think you aren't getting what I said. I find annoying that, in every video were fnaf is mentioned, there's are tons of haters talking shit about the game when is irrelevant in the video.
Games that should've been on here :
-Fran Bow
-SOMA
-Night Blights
-Among The Sleep
-Spooky's House of Jumpscares
-Until Dawn (honestly)
-The Rake game
-Slender
-Dead Realm
But in all seriousness FNAF sucks, horrible graphics, wired fanbase, overrated and doesn't deserve to be in this list.
+MrDuck D. At least someone agrees.
+MrDuck D. It's scary for the first few jumpscares... but only if you never heard or seen the game before
True
and thats why its called an opinion
''Number 14,five nights at freddy's,speaking of crap...ing you pants''
Eternal Darkness as No1! Good call Mr Dolan! Best horror game ever that doesn't get the love it deserves due to being GCN exclusive and with a release overshadowed by Metroid Prime. Praise Xel'lotath!
Corpse Party anyone?
Sure
ye
+Marshall Wilson holy CRAP YES
HISSSSSSSS THE REPTILIAN BROTHERHOOD WILL RISE
+Antfs10 HISSSSSSSS LEAF A LIKE
Luigi's Mansion 1 is my favorite GameCube game, one of my favorite games of all time
FNAF? why..........Do more research HellBent ....FNAF does not deserve a spot on this list.
did anyone ask for your opinion?
I did
+Vanessa Thorp i did xD
+Vanessa Thorp thanks for asking, anyway
+Fuzzycat make me foreskin smoker
Yay for Eternal Darkness being number 1.
Not only do I remember being intrigued by the plot as it unfolded, I also recall almost losing my sanity for real when the game "deleted" my save.
Awesome list!
You know what else is a creepy game? Sad Satan. Don't play it. Please. Trigger warning if you decide to.
What's that?
+CreeperFace204 A horror game that is actually a virus.
Trigger warnings piss me the fuck off... oops triggered.
+MudkipWarrior306 It's not really that "good" of a creepy game. It's more shock value than anything. It uses stock sound effects, and their imagery is taken from several sites that hosts those sorts of things (Like thatsphucked to name one).
+Shephered How did it get a rep then? :P
My favorite hallucination in Eternal Darkness is when the flies start appearing on your TV screen. When I saw the first fly appear I actually reached towards it to see if it was real.
I highly suggest Alice Madness returns, a really awesome game, with decent story and horror like parts.
+Dread Gear The original is stronger in horror department. When MR is just bizzare, the original is actually disturbing.
+Dread Gear
I actually completely forgot about that game, but now that I think about it...
Either game in the A.M. series would actually be pretty comfortable on this this. Good Call.
+KuroNoTenno please dont remind me of the first one
Frost Lion What, weak stomach?
KuroNoTenno
Poor kitty... He never stood a chance...
I do admit the first one scared me
And the second, but by the third game the jumps scares were too predictable making the game less fun also i absolutely hate the fandom it is at the cringe factor worst than ponies and anime combined.
What was it on the thumbnail?
Could you please put a red circle on it so i know what to look at? Thanks.
The game from the thumbnail is siren blood curse. It's ok not the best horror game but I rank it in betwen silent hill 3 and outlast.
+Sir Vicke the thumbnail is siren blood curse, he said that in the video
is it bad that I thought that was Sakurai?
The beginning of crystal skull scared the shit out of me
Michael Bachelor that one wasn't really scary in my opinion it was just weird and disturbing with the graveyard names hunt as well as finding all the glass eyes
Wow, a FNAF fan! You know what I do? I go to the FNAF fan base and I start flame wars there because the squeakers are so aggressive
Parker Drennan i'm not really a fnaf fan not like the ...others i'm a fan of many many games
SwiftFoxyGamer then change your profile pic and I won't call you a squeaker
I heard "from lighthearted adventures that turned spooky" I was like "SPOOKY'S HOUSE OF JUMPSCARES!"
Um where is Until Dawn? I own half the games on this list and Until Dawn should be on here over FNAF.
Half*
Where*
***** FNF*
+Anarky Clan
Jesus Christ, FNAF got so much hate even when it's on the second lowest spot on a top 15 list people still get a meltdown over it.
*you
The fandom is EXACTLY the same as all the others, and it's just hated on for being popular. anyone who thinks the games are bad needs to realise that they were made by ONE MAN.
+Anarchy Infamous (AnarchyAnonymous) ikr like U just don't hate on a Game Just because it's popular
Swift Paradox here is an example; Minecraft
+Anarchy Infamous (AnarchyAnonymous) ther is a difference the fnaf fanbase is somewhere around 80 % annoying kids.
I literally nearly cried when you brought up FNAF. No one can escape from it. It's everywhere ;-;
Seriously, who really cares if FNAF on the list? It's just a game, get over it.
The voice acting in Silent Hill 2 is great though...
Outlast is really scary.
+Corvo A Yea, Many people underestimate how TRULY scary it is. I have a playthrough of it Whistleblower and Outlast and holy SHIT was it good.
+Griffindo RasenganFatality I thought Whistleblower was more disturbing/creepy than the original and The Groom played a big part in that.
True. Had to censor it in my video lol.
Griffindo RasenganFatality Not surprised.
BUT HEY!
IF YOUR GAY IT'S MADE JUST FOR YOU!11!1
*kappa*
i love hellbent's voice. he's funny too :3
Fnaf wasn't #1? I'm disappointed
Just kidding. In all honesty it's not even that scary after the first one or two jump scares and they become more annoying than scary
The mere fact you put silent hill 2 on this list speaks volumes on your good taste.
+TalesOfGamerz yeah sure why not
Timo Serk
The hating is never gonna stop as long as the the games are popular so you better stock up on those band aids.
+Timo Serk Naw, he is laughing because people keep buying his game even though they are practically the same. He is rolling in your dough.
+TalesOfGamerz fuck it you're right why am I even hating those haters o_o
+Lily Taylor uhh yeah he wrote an entire ARTICLE debunking the rumor that's what he does: he actually spends time with his kids
I really want to play the original Resident Evil for all those amazing quotes and voice acting "MASTER OF LOCKPICKING."
+SCP-2979
Can you get me a "Jill sandwich" while you're out?
No?
"I can't believe..."
Fnaf isn't even scary, are you on drugs
+Lizrdspheerx Your opinion. If you don't like the series just ignore it and move on. That way we're all happy.
+Aaron Reimann If you don't like his comment. If you don't like it, ignore it and move on. That way were all happy. Do you see your hypocrisy?
+Lily Taylor if you don't like his comment just ignore it and move on. That way we're all happy.
+Lizrdspheerx 1st one was back when it was the only game and new
The kids are on drugs who play the overrated game and we all know drugs are bad for kids.
Eternal Darkness is masterpiece of horror! I love everything about it. The gameplay is nice, the atmosphere is creepy, and overall a great game to play.
FNAF sucks!
Ikr
+Ayma Nadine In my opinion, Mario the Music Box deserves more attention then FNAF.
Ayma Nadine OK eight year old
Parker Drennan How did you know that -Amiyari3uerhieujnrojernk- Ayma was eight ?
Ayma Nadine Get the hell out, you immature piece of shit.
Dark Severus I was being a dick, I have no idea who they are in real life
The siren franchise is hands down my favorite. That level you play as "shu" the blind guy in siren 2 is fucking terrifying.
Gotta love how you can play The Evil Within now without the letterboxes! It's got a wacked story, but it's an awesome horror game.
Great list. I would give a honorable mention to these games as well: System Shock 2, Slenderman, Clock Tower, and Bioshock.
Very nice, you mentioned the Forbidden Siren series. My god I remember starting in number 2, when you are in the room, you walk downstairs and open the door, I shit my pants and turned off the console... 5 minutes record...
The SCP game is god damned terrifying. Thanks for the mention.
Good list! I didn't expect to see Eternal Darkness as #1. I love this game so much!
Eternal Darkness is one of the most mind F***k games out their. one time i was playing and out of nowhere Head exploded and i was like WTF then a flashback like thing happened and i was so upset at that game. man i love that game. I played it many many time when i first got it.
Cry of Fear is another great horror game that i found myself screaming when the enemies ran at me
"The later games in the resident evil series are about as scary as an episode of goosebumps" *sees resident evil 8 and plays through for the first time* he was never the same again
OH Silent Hill 2.... Good times watching my friends playing that and passing the controller when they got too spooped
Even though you can't download it anymore, P.T. should be very high on this list, it's probably the creepiest game I've seen and I don't know anyone who has been able to play it by themselves.
good think you mentioned outlast. it almost looked like people forgot about this piece of art
Here's a list of scary horror games I'd play on Halloween.
-Bioshock
-Condemned Criminal Origins
-Doom 3
-Dead Space 1
-F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon
-F.E.A.R. 2
I love that Don't Starve got a worthy mention. Its a really cool game!
I'm genuinely-surprised that a Nintendo horror game got on the top of this list, and I'm fairly satisfied with all content mentioned above being on this list to begin with.
Now. I don't hate hellbent, but I just want a channel of Danger Dolan to be narrated by Danger Dolan.
hellbents talks about scary stuff so im gessing that it will retern to dolan after halloween
Costume quest is a great game for halloween, it's not scary but it has a really fun halloween feel to it.
Usually just play D2:LoD every October.. it's starting to become a tradition, for me.
Just one correction about the night vision in Outlast: it eats batteries faster than a goddamn Virtual Boy! Good that someone left all those batteries lying around for no apparent reason.
So glad Dead Space is on here. Such a huge fan of the series.
played an hour into original dead space when it was released. never went further. will finally go back to it now that the fear has subsided.
Thumbs up. Nice list. But where was Doom III? Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Tell Tale the Walking Dead? Dying Light? Soma? Metro Redux?
The Splatterhouse trilogy is perfect for Halloween for people want a good horror themed game. In addition, the Castlevania series is also good too.
Whoooohoo!! Eternal Darkness heck yeah!
I also think "Layers of Fear" deserved to be on this list.
14 did someone sayyy five nights at freddys?! HAHAHHAAAA
*SINGS THE FNAF SONG VERY LOUDLY*
Alone in the Dark the new Nightmare deserves to be here if not at least an honorable mention
Thanks for this. Eternal Darkness has been a fave of mine for years. I should play through it again.
How about haunting ground or Clock Tower 3? Running from psychopaths or serial killers is sure to give you chills.
Good list. Number 1 was a good shout. That game blew my mind when I 1st played it on GameCube.
Ah, Fatal Frame brings back so many creepy and beautiful memories :3
Eternal Darkness was the first game I bought for GameCube, it was an excellent game. I loved it
