the marquetry box is Persian/Iranian (don't mention that in description on Ebay since they may pull it due to Iran sanctions from the US) and the inlay work is generally real stones and organic material like bone and malachite, shell, etc I think it is called "KHATAM" at least that is according to an Iranian friend who told me that when she saw a frame of mine. I just checked regarding Iran..it's a banned country on ebay. I say "style" or mideastern in descriptions.

Hi Karen, Galle is an amazing glass to find - cameo glass. For that reason, it is heavily reproduced.
The one you have is 100% a repro.
"Tip Galle" means "Galle style" in Romanian. Never understood why glass artisans with such talent choose to imitate rather than create their own... but they do, and that is how they sign them, to disclose that those are not real Galle. Unfortunately, that detail gets lost in secondary / resale markets.
It is still a beautiful piece and you can get a pretty penny... just not what a real one would fetch.
Love your channel, been here since day 1! 💕

You need to "think outside of the box" at a flea market -- this is so much nicer than Goodwill - such a nice variety of REAL VINTAGE , not "Home Goods" "vintage". Not "fake antiques" . No ceramic class stuff . No wooden bowls and sloppily painted dish ware. If you come back to visit your Long Island friends : there is a good flea market at the Bellmore train station: Sundays ; weather pending. LOTS of affordable fun antiques and junk.

PRO-TIP: When at a flea market ALWAYS bring SINGLES because there is always a "One Dollar" table -- and you don't wanna break a $20.00 for a dollar item. Also $5.00 bills - VENDORS LOVE when you can give them exact change !

@@lavenderclothesline You should go the the bank the day before and break it down into 1's , 5's & 10's . The vendors get bombarded with 20's . Sometimes they run out of change . They are ALWAYS HAPPY to get paid in 5's and 1's - and if they are happy , they might give you a good deal the next time around.

Karen…soups can be such a great meal for single people or if you’re eating alone. I am married so I do still cook dinner for the two of us most days, but sometimes, we just do our own thing. I have started buying the boxed soups. I usually get 3 servings out of each box. Imagine brand makes some really good flavors. Super Greens is one of my current faves. After I heat them up in my can microwave, I turn them into more of a meal by adding canned tuna or chicken or leftover meat (real or veggie) leftover veggies, fresh salad greens, grated cheeses, sautéed mushrooms (or microwaved ….just add a bit of oil & salt….cook on high for 1 minute and check….(you must put some salt on mushrooms or they will not release their juices.) Mushrooms are really a tasty addition. Pacific Foods is also another brand that makes some very tasty soups. I like their Cumin Carrot made with oat milk and they also have a Butternut Squash variety one too. I think these soups are organic. And then after your soup, of course, you must have that Tiramisu! Yum! 😊

Maybe the seller said he didn’t think the frog was taxidermy in the strict sense bc the frog may not have preserved like a taxidermist would typically do. The one you bought does seem to have a high gloss coating, like the skin was plasticized or something. And frog skin is usually bumpy and not as shiny? I don’t know, but I figure it would be a good seller. 😊

I just started watching your video. As for amber, your items will get pulled if you try to sell amber beads raw or cut, natural or reconstituted, if they are less than an inch in diameter. It’s because parents started putting Amber necklaces on their babies claiming it helped with teething pain. It was all BS but it resulted in all of us now not being allowed to sell it. I have some beautiful antique amber right now that I can’t even put in my Etsy store.

@@stitcher4729 it’s not the same 5k items!! 😂😂 I sell over $100k a year! I ship hundreds of items a week! So it’s a constant buying low, selling high

@@lavenderclothesline I know that, I'm just saying that you have to be willing and able to have a lot of money tied up if you want to sell collectibles, as opposed to, say, clothing, which I understand moves faster.

I want your breakfast. Lol. Loved watching you navigate a flea market. I appreciate how respectful you are to all the vendors, and honest. And how you build relationships. Yes, everyone wants a deal, but you clearly do not push people to meet ridiculous offers. I think your integrity shines.
