Lovely to hear someone with a balanced and reasonable approach to eating healthy and not stressing over numbers or having to deny any foods. Congratulations on finding your right balance! 👍
The only diet I believe in is the one that works for the individual and is sustainable. I've just recently decided to get back to basics myself and am eating more like you're eating. Hopefully this will be the way for me.
I think one of the biggest takeaways from your video is that you’re eating the regular food that you know and have eaten for years. No fancy menu, no different food that’s sort of meh. Just your always/everyday yogurt for bkft, leftovers for lunch, hubby’s meatloaf for supper and maybe/maybe not snacks. Perfect! I feel that since we will have to be eating like this forever (or at least I will probably), it has to be my food, my favorite flavors, and my level of cooking inclination! I’ve discovered my balance was way off…not enough protein, or veg, and way too many carbs. So have shifted the balance and I’m down 18 lbs.
Cathy you will never know how much your post have help me. Watching your videos is like hearing me saying exactly what I feel. Thank you for your weight loss help and encouragement to get started. Prayers for you and your family.
I so happy for you. I know it’s hard to lose weight. I’m going to try the salad dressing. But I like balsamic vinegar. And I’m going to start cooking healthier for my husband and me. We just had a frozen pizza tonight. I’m pretty sure I don’t eat a balanced diet. And I’m also a sugar fiend. I always have been. But when I go off my medicine. I will lose weight. I never really had a weight problem until my pituitary quit working. But I will get everything under control. And I will lose weight too.
Frozen pizza is okay once and a while, but my dietician said to have a salad with it to help balance it out; plus the salad will help to fill you up too. 😊
I totally get it. I’ve counted calories or points for decades and yet here I am at 59 at my highest weight ever. Just started working with an RD but will certainly consider this approach.
Congrats Cathy!!! I had a couple of NSVs this week, bought a pair of lined leggings from Old Navy and I was just thrilled to be buying a plain XL, imagine my surprise when they were on the big side, I'm still in shock. Last weekend we were away for the weekend and I was absolutely shocked to discover that a hotel towel actually fit all the way around me. I actually stood in front of the big mirror in shock. We can do this!!!
Congratulations Kathy on your weight lost. Quick food diets helped me lose weight, but only to find out once I got tired and bored of the diet I ended gaining the weight back and more. Their is no secret in losing weight we all know that eating a well balanced meal and exercise will definitely help us having a healthier weight. I applaud you for changing your eating habits and choosing to eat healthy. Just like you I am a addictive emotional carbohydrate junk food eater that has caused me morbid weight gain that is also compromising my health and confidence. I took pictures of your meals and hopefully I can also follow your eating routine. You are a brave woman to publicly talk about your weight and I applaud your bravery. Keep up the great work and please share more meals. 🌸🌼
This is a lot like how we’ve been eating for the last couple of months! My husband has lost 18 lbs (the rascal is already at his goal weight 😂) while I’m down 10 lbs. The nice thing is that each piece of food you put in your mouth is nutritious. I do need to work on my snacking - I’ve been avoiding snacks and I usually eat too much at dinner, not good. To be a sustainable lifestyle improvement we need to include the snacks, I’ve come to learn this the hard way. I love these examples of your meals - I can eat like that and be satisfied. Had to chuckle when I saw the meatloaf - I mentioned to my husband that I like meatloaf but don’t know how to make it, so he made one on the weekend and it was good. Cool coincidence! You look so good, you’re inspiring me to keep going!
Congrats on your weight loss Patricia! Keep up the great work! I love meatloaf and it's one of the things hubby can make, so it's a treat for me to not have to cook. 😊
First of all, congratulations on your weight loss!! It really shows! Your balanced diet is basically what I followed to lose 60 pounds in 2021-22. Combined with regular aerobic exercise, I lost 4 to 5 pounds per month. It took me 14 months to lose the weight. To maintain the loss (it’s been one year), I continue to follow the same diet but have added calories to sustain it. I have had no wild weight fluctuations. I also continue to exercise regularly, which enables me to consume more calories without gaining weight. Due to the loss, I now wear a size 6 versus a size 18. I am 5’3, 69 years of age and now weigh what I did in my twenties. Keep at it and celebrate your success along the way!
Your meals are balanced and healthy. I find if I eliminate added sugars i don’t crave them. I treat added sugar as a drug and it works for me. Congrats on your weight lost.
Thank you! I feel the same about sugar. I really don't miss it much anymore and if I do have something sweet, it just doesn't taste as good as it once did.
Congratulations Cathy!! I totally love the plan so far. I was not having enough protein for sure. Your salad looks beautiful, I love the pretty bowl. Thank you so much❤❤❤I was sure at 61 it was impossible to lose weight. I’ve been trying forever.
So happy for you, you look pretty and healthy! I'm trying my best, realizing its a lifestyle change, but its slow going. Thank you for doing this, wow 18 lbs, congratulations 🎊.❤
Thank you for sharing your journey. I am trying to work through this with you. At 56, 5’2”, and apple body, I am about 70lbs heavier than I should be. You are an inspiration.❤😊
Five years ago I was 125. After a knee injury that left me bed ridden for 7 months then resulted in a TKR, on top of leaving the workforce to be 24/7 caregiver to my 89 yr old MIL, with dementia and strokes, I have just compounded the weight gain. Not being able to exercise because of the knee and her restrictions, being depressed, not being in my own home for 3 1/2 years, isolation, and nobody to help me until recently (hospice has someone for her baths now) it has just piled on. I’m scheduled for the other TKR 11/20 and I have got to do something.
Congratulations Kathy! Thank you so much for this videos. I am a 54 yr old female going through menopause, was recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes and I also have hashimoto (thyroid autoimmune disease). This combination makes it very hard to lose weight. I need to lose at least 30-40 lbs. I love carbs and I know I eat way too much. I love your balanced approach. Your meal ideas look so delicious and simple. I love simple food with few ingredients. People lose me when recipes are too complicated. Lol. I have done so many diets in the past including keto and they are not sustainable long term. I want to start using the plate method and I want to start eating cleaner Whole Foods. Thank you for this video. Please continue to make these what I eat videos because they are truly so inspiring and helpful. Thank you and God bless you.
My first time here. I’m very impressed with your healthy approach to your diet and food choices. I eat very similar foods and really enjoy it, but I mostly need to eat smaller portions and stop my after dinner eating. Keep up the great work!
This is so helpful to have a visual of your eating plan. Everything looks delicious and appetizing, also satisfying! I also like the taste of arugula and just lightly dressed greens is a big favorite for me too! This concept makes so much sense, and I appreciate that you aren't militant and still enjoy a treat now and then. I couldn't follow any plan faithfully that didn't include an occasional treat - it's that deprivation thing! Congratulations on your willpower and success! I think when we land on something that we can actually do, be it eating or exercising, we have to jump on board and run with it. You are inspiring many of us, I know!!
Thank you Karen! I agree, I can't deprive myself, otherwise it just won't work for me. I'm happy and satisfied eating this way so for now I'll keep on, keeping on. 😊
Thanks for sharing your "new way" of eating. Everything looks yummy. So much easier than counting and measuring. A new way to get those pounds off. You are looking great❤
I was told after a few months on keto my sweet cravings would disappear. 6 months of no fruit, no sugar but monk fruit and stevia I craved them just as much. I am doing my own thing now, one piece of fruit a day, one sugar free small sweet item a night, usually a fairlife protein drink. I am losing. Also, I wish some places would go back to red wine vinegar dressing with all the herbs in it. Enough with the constant balsamic!!
Thank you Cathy, I'm slowly getting onto your plan and off the sweets. Fridge stocked with healthy veggies, protein and complex carbs. Getting there... a work in progress.
I agree...in order for this to work you have to enjoy what your eating. You're doing great and I'm following along right with you. Would love to see more videos and congratulations
Thank you for that video Cathy! You look so much slimmer already 💕 I’m glad that this diet without counting calories works for you so well, it’s definitely sustainable ❤
Thanks for sharing. I too have been on WW and so tired of counting points. I love honey crisp apples and have a thermometer like yours. I’m looking into a dietitian since I have sugar cravings and need to lose weight, I’m pre diabetic.
I really appreciate you taking the time to share this information with us. I would really love to see more videos like this from you. Congratulations on the weight loss!! ❤🎉
Thanks so much for sharing what is working for you on your new eating plan! I'm inspired to start eating better and I look forward to watching you continue to get healthier as you walk this path to wholeness!! I believe this way of eating is so much easier than focusing on calories and points----thanks so much for sharing! Blessings ~ Cathy
What great video Cathy! Thank you so much for sharing your journey and what is working for you; I'm so happy for you!. I could not agree more with you about it's not a diet it's a way of eating/living. I've been slowly readjusting my meal plans and find I'm feeling less hungry when I am eating well, less bloated and sleeping better too. Would love to see more of what you are eating as I tend to complicate things and realize I need to scale back. This week breakfast is yogurt, 1 fruit, pumpkin seeds and some walnuts, lunch is homemade soup or salad (with protein) and supper a balanced plate - hoping the simplicity will help me.
I think that your menu sounds perfect. I like the idea of the nuts instead of granola in the yogurt, I'm going to try this! Yes, I am looking forward to making soup once the weather turns cold, we are having another heat wave here; might have to put the air conditioning on. I will share more videos like this in the future, thank you!
It's taken me about 3 months to "get over" my sugary treats. I have had some in the last week and I felt rotten afterwards. Every day is a new day, one day at a time.
Hey Cathy, congratulations on your perseverance & you look great! Thank you for sharing your videos you are an inspiration to me. I really appreciate you going right into the subject. No 10 min rambling about nothing 🙄. Thank You! You are doing an amazing job educating & helping others. 🤗
A blood sugar, triglycerides, and cholesterol scare put me on this healthy plate path to eating and I love its simplicity because I have counted calories, and tried every diet since I was a teen.I agree about the yogurt and granola - you have to eat in a way that will create long term success.I also love sweets, but I like to cook as well (and grew up this way in an Italian family), so I have had success modifying my plate so I can keep some favourites.Your 18.8 loss gives me incentive!
Congratulations on your weight loss! I recently starting seeing a dietitian and she's also having me do the plate method. These types of videos are so helpful. Thank you!
I’m so happy for you Cathy. Thank you for sharing. You’ve given me some ideas. I like grapes, oranges, apples, other fruits. Chicken is a favorite of mine. I eat boiled chicken frequently. Looking forward to your next video. Love from Debra in Mississippi 💖
Hi from Surrey BC just starting on my healthy journey using portion control I got a few things to help me too and thanks for your videos yes more of these and on your health journey would be great! I am 57 and will be 58 in 10 days.
I eat peanut butter and crackers just before I go too bed cause it keeps my blood sugar levels up but sometimes it a mini Hershey bar or 3 cause they do double duty for iron and sugar levels. I like a salad with shredded apples ,fine milled walnuts, 1 boiled egg,1oz of parmesan cheese, and I have sundried tomatoes chopped fine, and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for my dressing on top of fine shredded baby lettuces mix. I eat half for lunch and put the rest for the next days lunch. Dinner is 1/2 cup of beef and gravy can over 1&2 cup mashed potatoes,1/2veggies, then my snack of peanut butters and soda crackers. And breakfast is 1cup of old fashion oats with honey and 1 tsp.butter.
So glad I found this today. I was almost going to start WW again but I just can’t stand counting. This is what I’ve been thinking about so I’m going to sub and follow you on your journey! Thanks!
These comments are so positive. Good for you on finding what works to help you achieve your goals. We are all different and finding whats works for us can be challenging. Keep on finding the YOU you've always wanted to be. ❤❤❤
I eat Greek Gods brand yogurt, full fat no flavoring. I buy really good frozen berries: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries. I put the frozen berries on top and take the container to work. By lunchtime the berries have thawed and flavor the yogurt. To me it tastes like ice cream!
Cathy that's so great! Thank you for showing what you eat. I have a problem with sugar, but knowing you were able to get off it gives me hope. I think I could do your meal plan. Thanks again for sharing.
Your face is really slimming down! So glad you've found what really works for you without obsessing over points and numbers. (Sure your hubby is too! 😃) I'm going to try this eating style as well. Have a wonderful week!
Really enjoyed your video. It was very helpful and food I would enjoy. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations on your weight loss and new lifestyle. ❤
Great progress, Cathy! Keep it up. I'm on the same journey as you. I'm at 20# loss. I have to say, I am going to implement your way of eating for more consistency. Thanks for sharing! XO
I really appreciate you sharing your meals. Can you talk more about Oops days, eating out and overall consistency. That is my biggest challenge. Thank you so much!

Wow, 18 pounds is a great achievement. Congratulations! 🎉
Thank you!! 😊
Keep the daily meal ideas coming. Most people don’t give a portion size. You are doing great, I appreciate that you are willing to share your results.

Perfect! Congratulations!! 🥰

Well done Cathy. You are doing brilliantly. I think this is all so doable. Love L🌺🌺
Thank you so much!
Thanks for all the info. This is the kind of diet my dietican also recommends. I struggle getting off the sweets!
It's taken me about 3 months to "get over" my sugary treats. I have had some in the last week and I felt rotten afterwards. Every day is a new day, one day at a time.
@@StyleWithCathyYou have this girl👍
Wow, 18 lbs that is fantastic, and you look amazing.
Thank you so much!
Hey Cathy, congratulations on your perseverance & you look great! Thank you for sharing your videos you are an inspiration to me. I really appreciate you going right into the subject. No 10 min rambling about nothing 🙄. Thank You! You are doing an amazing job educating & helping others. 🤗
Thank you so much!
Thanks Kathy. I am on this journey with you.🥰
Thank you for sharing what your doing, Cathy! You are very inspiring and I enjoy your videos. Congratulations on your weight loss!
Thank you!
Love your balanced approach. I like to use rice vinegar and olive oil on my greens. A bit milder taste.
Keep going! You are doing fabulously!
Thank you so much!!

I’m so happy for you Cathy. Thank you for sharing. You’ve given me some ideas. I like grapes, oranges, apples, other fruits. Chicken is a favorite of mine. I eat boiled chicken
frequently.

Thank you so much for sharing. You gave me some inspiration to try eating better!

Excellent video Cathy. Looks delicious, healthy and will provide a lot of energy to be able to do the things that we want to do.
Thank you for sharing your plan and success. It’s so simple!
Glad it was helpful!
I do this too, I also add cinnamon and sometimes a couple of walnuts!
Way to go!! You are doing fantastic!
Thank you so much!
