She’s correct, you don’t. It stays with you as vividly as the day it happened. The very first time I can recall, I was 2 years old, and I’m 59. I remember each and every incidence of violence that was inflicted on me, over 36 years. I think that people like Amber deliberately choose people like Johnny, gentle people, because they know that they won’t fight back..that these Amber type people can treat their children/spouse lower than a dog, because they know that however much hurt and pain they inflict, they do it safe in the knowledge that no harm will come to them.

When I was a teen my mother swung a blender at me, which I managed to block at least, it left a big hole on my forearm... Gladly it healed without leaving a scar. I remember the event crystal clear. I do not remember the date it happened. Amber is clearly lying a lot, but that specific one thing... Is believable. Traumatic events aren't necessarily easily remembered with the exact moment in time they happened.

My ex abused me in every way possible...physically, emotionally, mentally, sexually.. He cheated on me.. He somehow turned everything around on me and made me question myself and my sanity. Watching Amber I feel no compassion for her, and I'm an extremely compassionate person. I can just sense she's just like my ex, but worse. i can not speak on the terms of domestic abuse or trauma, but i don’t remember exactly when my grandma died, it was in the last two months, in the two weeks before easter and i know it was a monday. that might be tied to the fact that it was sad, but not traumatic… all i’m saying is that it might be different for different people

i agree but i also find it extremely helpful. now, instead of trying to find the words to describe the abuse i dealt with, i can simply say, "have you been watching the depp/heard case?? i dated someone exactly like amber." it's one thing to explain to someone the abject craziness and abuse you experience in this kind of "relationship," but having it played out for the public so they can see for themselves is oddly comforting.

I think it's less about people being law experts and more about most people being able to read body language, subtext, and see through certain types of people. Also, a lot of people, unfortunately, have been in abusive relationships and can always recognize an abuser moving forward.

She said that because there are videos of her playing the guitar; she lied on stand saying she has never played a guitar. Her lawyers noticed that during their week off and tried to rectify it today by prepping her with this answer...adding a bit of humor in typical Johnny style! And that is why the lawyer laughed too. All rehearsed and staged to prove she did not lie on the stand! Almost every question her lawyer asked her today was to cover up some lie she stated on stand. They know she will be asked this during the cross.

Let me be clear: I am not a victim of abuse. But I've also spoken to people who have been through abuse. And every time abuse victims are questioned about their abuse, they behave VERY differently than this woman does. They tend to soften their voices, lower their gaze or avoid direct and sustained eye contact, and tend to delay responses a little because they are ashamed to reveal such intimate details. I am not a victim but I am a VERY empathic person. When AH talks about her abuse, I feel NOTHING that spills over from her to me except anger and determination. She wants to convince everyone because her ONLY goal is not to walk out of the courtroom as a loser. Narcissists can't handle failure so they do everything in their power to win because that feeds their ego and their ego is the most important thing to them. Losing this case would be even worse for AH's ego because not only she but the whole world would witness her failure.

If someone abused another, and the alleged victim of said abuse is in a court of law they should not have any shame or guilt that someone did something awful to them. They should feel vindicated and they should stare down every member of the jury knowing with full confidence that they deserve justice for what was done to them. If someone punched me or violated me and I was in a court of law, I would look at every member of that jury and state my case with confidence knowing that I deserve justice. Do you think women being abused by their husbands should hang their head, & feel shame and guilt after they unjustly were treated as a human punching bag. Noone is shaming the victims at all but rather talking about how most tend to act because of their experience. I left him 2 years ago and at any moment of time I’m asked or even think about the traumatic situations I’ve been through because of him, I can’t help but cry my eyes out. I was horribly abused my entire childhood but I can talk about it without crying. It still has effected me and my choices greatly, but I've spent a lot of years in therapy over it. I'm cried out and just want to undo all the CPTSD I have. She is disgusting. The lengths she is going to is just offensive and psychotic. Even after all the healing I've done, it would be hard for me to look the jury in the eye when I talk about it. I remember things clearly, but exact dates...forget about it. Wish you luck in healing. Trauma affects your brain and with the right help, you can reprogram so your body learns to react differently etc.
I’m sorry you were abused. My mother was abused her entire childhood by her father and she acts nothing like this liar when she talks about it. My mother is so deeply scarred, she could never look at a list of times she was abused, she can barely speak about it. You can look into my moms face when she even speaks of him and see the despair and the pain. Those are things that cannot be faked. That’s why Amber is so transparent. You cannot fake being an abuse victim.

especially so recently, you don't just talk about trauma like that with just a scrunched-up face and a tone like it was just a bad day you had. The person she's trying to portray is vastly different from the real thing. I genuinely believe that she has constructed a sob story to sway the minds of organizations that at least try to help women in these very real situations. She, however, is utilizing the fact that she is a woman in a successful position to attract the radicalism of said organizations to side with her blindly. This court case has evolved far beyond a mere not guilty verdict for Johnny (not that he doesn't ABSOLUTELY deserve it) but an example of how America will treat these kinds of people who manipulate people (unsuccessfully I might add) to believe something so blindly on the sheer basis of how they are born.

I remember each and every incidence of violence that was inflicted on me, over 36 years. I think that people like Amber deliberately choose people like Johnny, gentle people, because they know that they won’t fight back..that these Amber type people can treat their children/spouse lower than a dog, because they know that however much hurt and pain they inflict, they do it safe in the knowledge that no harm will come to them.

My ex abused me in every way possible...physically, emotionally, mentally, sexually.. He cheated on me.. He somehow turned everything around on me and made me question myself and my sanity. i agree but i also find it extremely helpful. now, instead of trying to find the words to describe the abuse i dealt with, i can simply say, "have you been watching the depp/heard case?? i dated someone exactly like amber." it's one thing to explain to someone the abject craziness and abuse you experience in this kind of "relationship," but having it played out for the public so they can see for themselves is oddly comforting.

They know she will be asked this during the cross.

Let me be clear: I am not a victim of abuse.
But I've also spoken to people who have been through abuse. And every time abuse victims are questioned about their abuse, they behave VERY differently than this woman does. They tend to soften their voices, lower their gaze or avoid direct and sustained eye contact, and tend to delay responses a little because they are ashamed to reveal such intimate details. I am not a victim but I am a VERY empathic person. When AH talks about her abuse, I feel NOTHING that spills over from her to me except anger and determination.
She wants to convince everyone because her ONLY goal is not to walk out of the courtroom as a loser. Narcissists can't handle failure so they do everything in their power to win because that feeds their ego and their ego is the most important thing to them. Losing this case would be even worse for AH's ego because not only she but the whole world would witness her failure.

If someone abused another, and the alleged victim of said abuse is in a court of law they should not have any shame or guilt that someone did something awful to them. They should feel vindicated and they should stare down every member of the jury knowing with full confidence that they deserve justice for what was done to them.
If someone punched me or violated me and I was in a court of law, I would look at every member of that jury and state my case with confidence knowing that I deserve justice.

Noone is shaming the victims at all but rather talking about how most tend to act because of their experience. There’s a difference between confidently sharing and sounding very contrived and rehearsed, even the injection of a joke to try to sound relatable.

I left him 2 years ago and at any moment of time I’m asked or even think about the traumatic situations I’ve been through because of him, I can’t help but cry my eyes out. It is truly something that effects a woman for the rest of her life. Amber is a disgusting , pathetic, excuse for a human being.
I was horribly abused my entire childhood but I can talk about it without crying. It still has effected me and my choices greatly, but I've spent a lot of years in therapy over it. I'm cried out and just want to undo all the CPTSD I have. She is disgusting. The lengths she is going to is just offensive and psychotic. Even after all the healing I've done, it would be hard for me to look the jury in the eye when I talk about it. I remember things clearly, but exact dates...forget about it. Wish you luck in healing. Trauma affects your brain and with the right help, you can reprogram so your body learns to react differently etc.

My mother is so deeply scarred, she could never look at a list of times she was abused, she can barely speak about it. I genuinely believe that she has constructed a sob story to sway the minds of organizations that at least try to help women in these very real situations. She, however, is utilizing the fact that she is a woman in a successful position to attract the radicalism of said organizations to side with her blindly. This court case has evolved far beyond a mere not guilty verdict for Johnny (not that he doesn't ABSOLUTELY deserve it) but an example of how America will treat these kinds of people who manipulate people (unsuccessfully I might add) to believe something so blindly on the sheer basis of how they are born.
