One advantage Darci had over any other kid her age trying to do the same thing is that she was a competitive gymnast and she just directed the hours of work they put into gymnastics into her ventriloquism and you saw the results.
She is amazing. Terry Fator won AGT Season 2 and now has the number one show in Vegas. He does impressions of famous singers. He had been doing ventriloquism for about 30 years before auditioning for AGT. Darci had only been doing ventriloquism for 2 years.
Simon and Mel B have been fighting a lot this season! She's thrown her glass of water on him multiple times! Nice reaction guys!
Jeff Dunham spends his time on world tours, He is a family friend of Darci's family. And Terry Fator has been advising her. You should see her semi-final performance with an old slightly naughty ladycalled Edna Doorknocker who gets Simon to blush. It is old news now but she won the $1,000,000 and will star in a show in Las Vegas as well as a Christmas special. By the way she is self taught apart from the advice she has had in the last few weeks from Dunham and Fator,who adore her and have called her the Queen of ventriloquism.
terry fator winner of season 2 of agt was in 2016 the 3rd highest paid comedian in the world making about 21 million. he has his own show in vegas and is also a singing ventriloquist. he is the one that really made it popular and has mentored darci too. you are right about her being a good singer she started about age 6 and won many awards as a singer but she got the bug to be a ventriloquist and started at age 10 when she got her first puppet. so in about 2 years she has mastered what it takes many others years before they are good enough to put on a show. and she will get better.
I briefly studied ventriloquism, P's B's and M's are VERY hard. There are several techniques that can be used. Most amatures simply avoid those letters. One technique is to learn to move only the inside of the lip without moving the outside. Another technique involves the teeth sliding forward. Both are very hard though, Darcy is REALLY good at what she does.
Terry Fator winner of season 2 of Americas Got Talent did Impressions of singers using his puppets.....He has a show in Vegas...He is a Ventriloquist....Winston the Turtle doing the Kermit the Frog version of What a wonderful world is one of his performance on AGT season 2...

Great reaction guys! I'd highly recommend that you react to some videos from the AGT finale, not only to see how Darci did, but to see her collaborations with the aforementioned Jeff Dunham & Terry Fator, who popularized singing ventriloquism when he won AGT 10 yrs ago - but Darci has a better singing voice.

Fator ( who BTW helped her on the jokes for live rounds ) did basically same thing to win 10 years ago AGT, except he is not as good singer as Darci BUT Fator impersonates voices and 2 years ago a ventriloquist won Zandin

The golden buzzer only gets you to the Quarter finals so your only competing against 35 other people. The Quarter finals are the first of the 3 Finals rounds .

She is absolutely amazing, but in all fairness,her material was written with Terry Fator. She had him as a mentor for the season. Notice that her technique and material improved between the audition and her first live show. I guess you can't hold it against her. She is the one performing, and I believe that most of the acts get some type of mentor. After all, they only want a golden buzzer act to win.
There is an article on billboard about what Terry Fator helped with and she didn't use all the material he offered, some of it she worked on herself.

Look at Darcy's Adam's Apple that's where the puppet's voice's are coming from. Darci does open her mouth depending on what she wants the puppets to do
