She hitting them high notes without even moving her mouth
She has stepped up the quality of her act each time she performed, She is so talented it is breathtaking, remember she is only 12 years old and only took up ventriloquism 2 years ago. I wouldn't worry about her being ruined by the industry though, like Grace Vanderwaals parents, Darci has parents who have not pushed her in any way whatsoever, just allowed her to progress entirely at her own pace and have kept a very tight and careful watch over her. Whilst mentioning last years sensational winner (also 12 at the time) just compare that nervous but modest girl in yellow pants at her audition singin I Don't Know My Name and the stunningly capable girl (now 13) at the Austin City Limits Festival. Grace takes total control of the stage and audience, her sense of fun is infectious. But through it all she is still as modest as ever, watch her shock at the reception she gets as she walks on stage.
I LOOOOVED Angelica Hale.... but I knew she couldn't win when she was up against Darci. How incredible was this?! I've never seen anything like this in my life!

I enjoyed your reactions to Darci. She has 3 other amazing AGT performances as well as a performance with Terry Fator on the Final Results show. Terry Fator won AGT Season 2 and is a ventriloquist who does impressions of famous singers. After winning AGT Terry signed a $100 million dollar contract in Las Vegas and is still today the most popular act in Vegas. All of his AGT performances as well as some Vegas performances are on RUclips. He had been doing ventriloquism for about 30 years before auditioning for AGT. Darci had only been doing ventriloquism for 2 years. While I am still in awe of how Terry Fator sings just like so many musical legends, I am looking forward to watching Darci grow her talent.
I would love to see you react to any of Darci or Terry Fator's performances.

Just some background information on Darci. She taught herself and has only done this for two years. Very impressive.

Yeah, she is amazing, but some are trying to make Darci Lynne out to be without talent because she has had to have so much training to be good. I believe she is extremely talented though.

This her 4th and final appearance..She just secured her win right there.. That was Awesome...
She pretty much nailed her victory with this one and the previous one with her old lady Edna totally embarrassing Simon Cowell. That's when Simon commented that Darci has a "wicked" sense of humor.

What can I say, some people with autism just have talents that the rest of us could only dream us, and could probably not even learn in a lifetime. I’ve got autism myself, so I can see that she’s got autism too, not when she’s performing, but when she’s talking to the judges before and after.
Darci is 12 years old fixing to be 13 in October she is a great performer and can do amazing thing with her act

Terry Fator who is a friend of Darci since he first saw her has called her the queen of ventriloquists. She is going to become a national institution. But you Americans must not keep her to yourselves, we over here in the UK are totally enchanted by her as well.

Darci Lynn is a extraordinary innate artistical girl... To be able do what she use normally do, need three or four brains in collaboration both.. any just for any pouppet she manipolates so smart, any more herself acting as main regist, any more for Tel per and be scenografici, more.. a symphatie necessary in art. All this let to Darci to be a insane crazy best artist in World, what do happy and glade anyone to see her comics so human and fantastic be living !

Her performances have all been sensational. Her semi-final was brilliant she used a slightly naughty old lady puppet called Edna Doorknocker who had a crush on Simon Cowell, watch him go bright red. His comment at the end was that he had a crush on Edna but that Darci was in big trouble. Lastly Terry Fator has given her tips along the way in presentation and she is a friend to Jeff Dunham,

Also, if you look towards the middle of THIS performance, she turns red because she's running out of breath, proof she's actually singing.
Watch her breathing throughout this number. She doesn't breathe the same way for each line. Just as any other singer does, she takes measured breaths for the line she's about to sing. That measured breathing is what a singer learns in the course of rehearsing a song many times.

Her audition aired on May 30, 2017, her finals performance on September 19, 2017. Do the math- that's thirteen years isn't it?

That is why she won. You should watch Preacher Lawson on America's Got Talent and Daliso Chaponda on Britain's Got Talent, they are both hilarious and will have you rolling on the ground.
She's even done O Mio Babbino Caro.
You should have watched her audition where they have a background video on her before she comes out to audition. She only has "Petunia" her bunny, on her audition and they sing "SUMMERTIME" from the Broadway and movie Musical "PORGY AND BESS" It shows off her singing range. She is only 12 years old here and self taught from the time she was 10, just two years. She got the "golden buzzer" from Mel B after that audition which allows her to skip the other levels and go straight to the live shows. Darci just dissolved into tears and everyone else who has reacted to that moment, got teary eyed as well. She ended up winning the whole thing and is still performing now in 2022. There is a LOT of video of ALL her performances on AGT as well as performances she has done over the years since then. Check them out. She uses several different puppets.
There is a sweet story about Darci, not sure if it came from her, Misty (Her Mum) or from Jeff, but Darci is a friend of both Jeff Dunham and Terry Fator. She went to a Jeff Dunham Show and afterwards, of course met him backstage. She is supposed to have said how funny he was but also how rude, to which he made her promise there & then that she would never use his sort of humour, which I gather drew giggles in response. Both Jeff and Terry have advised and helped her. Terry has called her the Queen Of Ventriloquists.

I loved Darci, and that was her most complex performance and I thought she needed a couple more rehearsals. Her previous three performances involved one puppet and, IMO, her best performance was the third one where she made Simon blush.
From what she said in an interview that performance was put together in a week and she only had a few days to rehearse it
Right. And she still performed amazingly well, especially when the singing started, but you could see she was slightly less confident in the intro and her timing was just a bit off. For example, I'm not confident she meant to smack herself in the face with Petunia's ear, and that threw her off for half a second but she recovered very well. She also stumbled on a couple words and just, in general, seemed slightly less confident in the dialogue portion. In some way it's like the singing was the easy part for her. I just think she was still having to think a little too much with all that dialogue and character shifting, which is why I think a couple more rehearsals and she would have done the whole thing perfectly.
Petunia's ear I think was deliberate it fits with the diva theme. Later on when they showed clips of that performance there was no stumbling on Laurel and Hardy so it was probably from the dress rehearsal where she wasn't under so much pressure trying to perform live with an under-rehearsed sketch.
I think Shaun is right about Petunia's ear. If you go frame by frame, she starts closing her eyes and turning her head before it touches her.
Well if that's true, she's a great little physical comedian because her reaction looked pretty authentic. But the fact that it wasn't obviously slapstick is, to me, a sign that the act overall was just unpolished enough to make you wonder if it was just a mistake. And, again, it was still an amazing act overall. She deserved to win AGT because she was the most talented individual there by a wide margin. IMO, of course.
The fun part of this video is knowing that they will freak out when Darci starts to sing.

I have subscribed because your reactions are superb. Darci is 12 years old and has only been doing ventriloquism for 2 years. Can I ask you to react, or at least have a look at, another youngster who has an amazing future. In Britain's Got Talent this year an 8 (yes 8) year old girl finished runner up. She is ISSY SIMPSON. Her audition is what you need to see as that was when she shook the judges and stunned the audience. I will not spoil it for you other than to tell you that Simin Cowell calls her a witch.
Issy Simpson is an apparatus magician who used expensive equipment belonging to her grandfather. She doesn't do slights because her hands are too small. Simon's 4♦ was an automatic gimmick. She just had to pull off the selection bit without dropping the cards.
The box was just a mechanism. Notice, too, that Simon and David failed to try lifting the box in any of the most natural ways. They'd been coached to only try a simple vertical lift or a sliding motion. People will try the straight lift first, usually. But after that fails, they're going to immediately try three or four other approaches without a second thought. Pushing, pulling, or sliding the box would be the sixth or seventh method. I know this from personal experience and from repeated observation.
Had the box lift bit failed, nobody in the audience would even be aware of it, of course. There's some alternate script dialog for use should that occur.
The book selection was a psychological force. Amanda's book was small. In almost every case, the person making the choice is going to go for something that seems to be more challenging - a larger book. Alesha's book had hundreds of pages. So did David's, but anyone who has watched the show for long could have predicted that there's no way Simon would pick his. So, Alesha's was a near-certainty.
And yet the book and page selection were meaningless camouflage. Misdirection. Issy put on a performance to get a word. Then she just had to summarize what had happened so far. Part of this was playing the role of the magician; the rest was just delaying while the chosen word was placed on the board.
She advanced when she somehow got votes in spite of repeatedly forgetting where she was in her script. In the final, voters went for her even though she clearly and openly resorted to loud, remotely controlled mechanisms that were clearly visible to everybody seated beyond the 10th row (and carefully kept off camera by the director and producers). That illusion is usually performed with silent equipment.
Please appreciate that I have limited myself to somewhat vague pointers. I do some close-up magic myself (not that well anymore - thanks, MS), and vague pointers is where I stop. I am not one of those fargin' cork sucking, ice hole, bastages who think they're clever for posting "revealed" video after skilled magicians perform. In earlier days, if somebody wanted to figure out an illusion, that turned to libraries, magic shops, and bookstores in a hunt for the answer.
