my childhood was awesome some 20-25 years ago because of this.showing every Sunday on my country, Malaysia at that time. cant believe i revisit those.. original opening still the best
Man, if you think about it, the series did end on a high note, especially with this banger of a song. Shin Sakura Taisan may be a worthy successor, but I feel the story could've ended beautifully here.
Honestly despite never playing the games the openings for all the games including the newest one have been amazing I wish the entire series was able to be brought to the west so I could properly experience it For now I can't wait to play the new Sakura Wars and try to find So long My Love as well

I only recently discovered Sakura Wars thanks to Project X Zone and recently beat Sakura Wars 5. Looking through some of the fantastic music and found this incredible AMV you made. The intensity of the song just goes so well with the scenes you chose that I was so pumped by the end. Not gonna lie I have added a good bit to the view count by how many times I've had to rewatch this. Great job.

Yes, Sakura Wars was supposedly taking place in the 1900s, which was WW1 in our era.
The game is a Harem, no doubt. But what I can remember from the games (Played them before Project X Zone :D), I kinda remember something about women having more spiritual power to power the big robot mechs called the Koubu.
It's a dating sim/mech fighting rpg game. Only one that i know of that was released in English was So Long My Love, and it was an amazing game for being 95% dialog.
Not an anime (though it got some adaptations later on); it's a game series that helped pioneer the social-sim/turn-based-combat hybrid JRPG made famous in the West by games like Persona (though the gameplay is more Fire Emblem than Dragon Quest), and was one of Sega's flagship series in the 90s and 00s.

They actually do. The Nintendo DS game - Dramatic Dungeon Sakura Taisen does have kagekidan from all three cities fight together.
