Hope you guys enjoy this video and learn something before you start your first year! If you're starting vet school in the fall, let me know where down below!
So excited to see you start! You're going to love it! Honestly different study methods work best for everyone but I think it's important to remember you're never going to know everything so don't stress too much ahah!
Thanks, I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying them!! I really only considered applying to the University of Guelph as they’re associated with OVC and they’re one of the only schools in Ontario that offers an animal biology/animal science program! I’d recommend applying to animal biology/animal science or biomedical programs in undergrad!
I got accepted after I finished 4th year! It's not unlikely to get accepted after third year (I know a bunch of people who did) I would just say it's more common not get accepted on your first application - if that makes sense ahah! 😊
I wouldn’t say it’s difficult, but it definitely takes some prioritizing! Vet school does take up a good chunk of your time, however, it’s all about work like balance. You need to take breaks from school, so having a social life or a relationship is a great way to step away from studying. In terms of a relationship, I’ve had one throughout vet school and it does take a lot of understanding from your partner that vet school takes up a lot of time, but as long as you make time and put effort into your relationship it’s definitely doable!
Hey! Great question, in Canada we actually don’t have to write the GRE to apply to vet school so unfortunately I can’t really comment on that. However, I’m pretty sure Brianavet wrote it, you should check her out. I think she might actually have a video on it!
Yes! It will vary by school but for most science based undergrads you will have to take chemistry, physics, calculus, statistics and biology! Hope that helps 😊
Hi, Amanda, I am going to the University of Melbourne DVM. May I know what resources are good for anatomy and if there are any tables available online that list the muscle origin, insertion, and its innervation.
Hi! I really enjoyed the textbook of veterinary anatomy by Dyce! In terms of tables for origin and insertion, I googled each muscle individually to find that information, a lot of it was human anatomy based but I cross referenced them with the textbook and most were very similar!

premed bio undergrad. can’t decide whether to stick with to human medicine or veterinary medicine. the vet school salary to debt ratio scares me 😢
You’ll definitely get paid more in human medicine that’s for sure! But at the end of the day you’ve got to do what you really love!
hi! i'm also a vet student from Indonesia! What's the application or website for 3D anatomy that u used in the video?
It's an application on VIN (you need a membership to access it)!
In what year of your undergrad did you get accepted into vet school? Is it very unlikely to get accepted in your second-third year?
I got accepted after I finished 4th year! It's not unlikely to get accepted after third year (I know a bunch of people who did) I would just say it's more common not get accepted on your first application - if that makes sense ahah! 😊
is it difficult to maintain a social life and a relationship when youre in vet school? or is it difficult but doable?

How old were when you got started? Part of me feels like it's too late to get started down the road
I was 22 when I started in vet school, but I promise you it's never too late to start if it's something you're passionate about 😊
Do you have to take basics in college in order to be a equine vet ?
Yes! It will vary by school but for most science based undergrads you will have to take chemistry, physics, calculus, statistics and biology! Hope that helps 😊
