    Thank you for the essential list and links! I found it very useful and I like how you included the NAVLE prep questions because I actually think that’s great that you’re starting early to expose yourself with those questions. Love your videos and advice! Hello, I'm a french student and I'm 15 yo. I really wanna do my vet studies in Canada. I would like to do my last high-school year in Canada, I think it we allows me to familarze me with the language. It's hard to understand the Canadian school system, so I would like juste to be sure if I correctly understood : After highschool, I will have to do 2 years of undergraduate with the program of my choice and after it, I will have to be accept in the vet school for graduate (or post-graduate I never know). But the problem is that if I arrive at Canada for the last years of highschool, I don't know if I will have the time to acquire the necessary experience (with voluntary work or jobs). With talking about experience, I didn't understood if it's required to be accept in the university or in the vet school ? I think the minimal marks required are to be accept in the undergraduate and the experience is to be accept in the graduate (or post-graduate). Also, if I move to Canada, I will do it alone because my parents want to stay in France. So do you know all the administrative procedures I will have to do if I wanna be accept in a university (a think about the Calgary's University to be a wildlife vet in cold area) ? And if at 17 yo it will be possible to do all the administrative procedures. Thanks a lot for your time and your help ! (by the way I really love your videos) And sorry for my English that is probably not incredible, don't hesitate to tell me if I made mistakes in the language, I will not take it bad, on the contrary. Tkanks again and good continuation !

      I didn't see that you made a live with a lot of interresting answers. And you said that we have to lived in Canada for four years to apply for vet school, but if go to Canada in the last year of highschool, it won't be 4 years :/

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  3 года назад

      To apply as a Canadian resident you have to live in Canada for 4 years before your application, however if you want to apply as an international student you can, you’ll just need to pay international tuition which is quite expensive!

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  3 года назад +1

      I would wait until you start school, some schools may have different requirements for what you need! For example, my school gifts all their students a stethoscope, so I didn't have to buy one, but I know at other schools students have to buy one themselves! So I would definitely wait to see what you really need!

    This is probably a silly question but do all stethoscopes work the same? Some are 200 pounds whilst some are 20 but surely they all let you hear a heartbeat in the same way??

    • @freyawhiting2372

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  3 года назад +2

      Not a silly question at all! I don't know the physics or the mechanics behind it, but I've definitely noticed a difference in the sounds I can hear when I use cheaper vs more expensive stethoscopes. You'll be able to hear a heartbeat on any stethoscope, the quality of the sound or the little details you hear will differ!

      @@yourvetamanda Oh, alright thank you! I know you have an Ipad and incase you didn't know you can buy a fake apple pencil on Amazon that's a lot cheaper than the real thing!

    • @psyche19900623
      @psyche19900623 3 года назад +1

      Definitely not the same! (currently working as a technician and holy crap some of the clinic-provided stethoscopes hurt my ears and you can't really expect to hear a grade II murmur with them). 3M Littmann III costs about $120 and works great for me. If you really want to downgrade a little bit, Littmann lightweight II (~$50) has pretty good sounds for the price, but the rubber is a bit tougher, and it may not work as well in noisy environments like ER.
