MaryArts if you still haven't gotten the answer yet, - which you could've looked up online - all you have to do is move the two inner matchsticks across the dog's body. It would then look like a flattened dog, if you looked at it from a top-down perspective. (Note. You don't have to turn or twist any of the matches, you just simply move 'em across)
@Diego Martin I played the games on DS a long time ago as well, if I recall correctly there's a puzzle you have to beat to carry on with the game which I got stuck on, think it was on a train or something
Did you get to the one with the trees? It was like "here are trees in a striaght row labeled a b c and D. which tree is farthest from A?" and I was like "....I-... its D right? I mean its the farthest... but wait! Its also tiny... what if they actually mean by height?! WHAT?!"
The hint be like: “flip your system upside down, then divide your age by 38. So if the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, then what shape does the new square you’re looking at remind you of?

This is me on that puzzle with the 5 trees in a straight line. Where you had to work out which ones were the furthest away from each other. Hmmm.... MAYBE THE ONES AT THE OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE LINE? I was certain it was a trick question.

My exact thoughts the first time I played The Diabolical Box. It's really hard to adjust to the introduction puzzles, when you are used to the harder ones from the former games.
I'll take these kinda puzzles over those, that give you information to make you think you have to solve the puzzle with it but then it's just shit in the background that's the solution... LOOKIN' AT YOU, ICEBLOCK AND FIREPLACE PUZZLE!
Every. Single. Time. It's at this point where I either pull up a walkthrough, just guess until I get it right, or use the hint coins anyways. Then I turn off the game and do it again without wasting the coins~

It was the first time a friend of mine showed me that game, and she picked that specific puzzle for me to solve, but I was exactly like Luke, my friend was watching me, like 'It´s not really that difficult...' And I got nevous, didn´t want to pick an answer, and I finally was like I DON´T WANNA PLAY THIS GAME. Years after, I got that game, played it on my own, and was like FUCK, IT WAS EASY.

I agree with Luke. You have to save your picrats for the 3rd puzzle where you have to figure out why there isn't a secret passage behind the bookshelf when it isn't completely against the wall, or a hidden passage in the sarcophagus perfectly balanced standing up against the wall!
I feel like if the Professor saw Luke have an aneurysm because of a puzzle, he'd be in no way surprised. "Now, Luke, gentlemen don't die because of stress-induced brain hemorrhages. At least wait until we've reached the inn."
Then you cave in and use a hint coin, only to get a "hint" that's like "try looking from a new perspective!"

The trick was that you were led to analyze the length between adjacent trees, not the whole row, and thus hopefully miss the obvious answer xD
This sums up the entire game for me
Me: "Ok, 30 picarat puzzle, it's not that difficult."
Me three hint coins later with the lowest picarat total trying to understand the explanation:
