KoyasuNoBara They're ok I guess. I wouldn't say they are the worst depending on how they are done and what the goal objective is. If it's a sliding puzzle that is supposed to reveal a picture when finished, then I can say those are terrible because a lot of the time they are made to be solved in a certain way/order. But if it's to simply move one piece to another, to say, get a key, it's not that bad. The latter is more simple because you can think of the key has one of the blocks and just have to try a number of various moves before understanding the pattern. With the prior, you do that and you utterly fuck up.

@Shadders2010 I'm quite flattered! I blame my habit of reading the dialogue in these games out loud for fun all the time. And yeah, the voice I used for Edgeworth is the one I always pictured (heard?) him having.
honestly at this rate I'm starting to think that sponge bob has better paychecks than Gumshoe like seriously how many times has his salary been cut does he even get one anymore?!
I know how Edgeworth feels... I can't solve a puzzle like that without using hint coins. ...maybe Professor Layton was trying to tell Edgeworth about hint coins...?
It's interesting to see how far his voice acting has come. He has the accents down here, but the way he talks seems a bit too fast and unnatural. Fast forwards five years, and he's on par with a professional voice actor.
Captain Zangoose That’s a very aggressive response to a very passive comment. Especially since you personally insult me, which I never came close to doing.
Am I the only one that likes the sliding block puzzles? I prefer them over the puzzles that I have to make a million notes on. :P That said, seeing this now makes me wish that Edgeworth had shown up in the main story of the Layton VS Phoenix crossover. They work so well against each other and with each other. :) YAY friends!
I know little of Layton ( I watched a movie ) and nothing of Edgeworth yet this showed me so much of their characters in such a short time .Magnificient .
This is very well done. I could very easily picture this happening and the voice-work was fantastic. It did take me a second to recognize Gumshoe, but only a second. Overall, splendid job!
As a person who doesn't speak English as their first language, being able to fully understand this video without any subtitles is extremely satisfying.
I know we all give Edgeworth an English accent, but he was in grade school with Wright, if anything he should have a German accent after being in Von Karma’s care for so many years.
I mean, I think what most people mistake for a posh accent is more transatlantic! of course some edgeworth voice actors (cough, matt healy) just go full posh
I'm just surprised Edgeworth wouldn't be the type to know the algorithm. Guess he never found it important enough. But I bet he researched it right after this meeting.
- "A sundial is a timepiece with the most moving parts. Which one has the most?" Me: [pause] Well, the obvious answer is "the universe itself". If I hadn't known better, I'd have sworn you really had Layton's voice actor doing this. Also, that's pretty much exactly what Edgeworth would sound like, if he ever got to say a full sentence. I'm just curious how Gumshoe solved the puzzle. Probably by taking the puzzle pieces out and putting them in the right place... After all, just because you *can* slide the pieces doesn't mean you *have* to. It's a common sense puzzle, so Edgeworth fails. :)
Oh man, I want to see this animated so bad.

Until Edgeworth started failing I was so certain they'd start making out with how well they were clicking.
They would probably have developed an unusually fast friendship, especially for Edgeworth, but I doubt they would ever kiss.

Sure, as long as you credit me, that'd be fine.
I hope I can hear him say "You did not disappoint me, Mr. Edgeworth" and "Mr. Layton, you are a worthy opponent" one day.
it actually makes a lot of sense that Gumshoe would be really good at a visual puzzle.
Your layton is so good ;_;

Really funny that this was made before Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in the 3DS
Its not odd the two are frequently used in the same sentence even prior to that game
It's hard to believe they're all voiced by the same guy...
Love the voices XD
Your voice for Layton is so damn classy.
Have mercy, Edgeworth. Gumshoe can barely afford ramen as it is.
This is so perfect, funny, well written. The voices are amazing and the Layton is so spot on, It sounds just like him!
