I lived next door to their base in Gibraltar. They had Merlin engines which sounded wonderful.
Beautiful craft ,brave people .The sea shall not have them.
I wish Airfix would produce a model of one of these beautiful workhorses.
It would complement any collection.
It is without doubt those RAF motor launch crews were second to none.
what a nice fast rescue boat. Hi performance for that time
3 Packard V12s wre the initial engines giving about 1500 hp! I think 39 knots was the fastest recorded.
High performance for now times!
Had I have been of that generation fighting in the war thats what I would have liked to have done.
