Gonna watch this in the morning, I already watched a couple of these vids until now at 02:09 and I gotta go to sleep. By morning I hope there'll be enough comments for me to read after watching another awesome video !
And Home for Tea. A pleasant bit of fresh air and a sea dip and ALL is right with the World! With of course the typical use of resources! Spitfires--Spotter plane-Three recovery boats. A walk in the Park! Golly Good Show Boys! Tea's Up---AND crumpets!
Rescue boats of RAF Maritime Branch experimented on, designed, evaluated, redesigned, engines improved and worked on by hand, tested at sea, and proved to work by none other than Aircraftsman Ross, also known as Colonel T. E. Lawrence.....Lawrence of Arabia who thank goodness and his genius and foresight was also Lawrence of Great Britain before 1935. It took the War Office until 1940 to get the service fully available, but 245 aircrew died at sea because there was no rescue service. Typical lack of preparedness by UK government and even worse now.
I am not sure what you’re driving at, your comment seems very snide and cynical, when this film was made the English language was far different to the one currently in vogue, the same applies to the way English was spoken during the reign of Henry VIII, Elizabethan, Edwardian and throughout the centuries, and in a short time English will change again to reflect how the world changes, can you imagine someone in the Elizabethan age having the internet jargon spoken to them, they wouldn’t understand hardly a word, so just because YOU don’t get it it doesn’t make it ROT, and YES it was jolly good of the Search and Rescue (SAR) teams to rescue downed pilots or Royal Navy personnel from the sea after their ship or submarine was Destroyed, or merchant seamen who had to abandon ship when they got torpedoed, some more than once, and if it wasn’t for the SAR teams the war could have ended differently, replacement pilots and sailors were in short supply and you couldn’t just drag someone of the street, throw them into a spitfire and send them out to fight the Nazis, I really don’t know what you’re problem is but it isn’t nice and you should do some research BEFORE you make snide and sarcastic remarks, it’s NOT NICE.

Awesome
I still use MTB 456 as my recording studio!

Here's a comment the Luftwaffe was the best air force in the world.

Bob’s your Uncle! Jolly ho.
Good on you, boys. But, I'm afraid it was usually a recovery.

If it wasn't for the early mornings, shouty men and risk of sudden, violent death, war looks like it would be quite fun.
Just that sudden violent death 💀
Would a slow violent death be more to your liking? The customer comes first; we aim to please.
How strange I made a scale model of the 146 rescue boat many years ago, and I still have it.
i've seen this reel. from my ww2 father, 2 words: "Horse Shit"
Haha! I *was* thinking that they had chosen a nice calm, clear day for it....
Father knows best--Again! lol
Cheerio pip pip and all that rot
Jolly good of those RESCUE teams in bringing that young pilot ashore alive and well ! ! !
