Thankyou Ian for showing my favourite ever Soi in the whole of Bangkok! I stay in the Adelphi Suites and it's fab! The Monsoon Bar is attached to the Adelphi Suites, it's where you go for breakfast. The food at night is great too. I've been to all those bars and restaurants on Soi 8 There's a short cut to Soi 4 up the alleyway next to Viva Bar, past the famous, 'Lolitas Bar' check that out... ;) ! I'll be back throughout January/February. It does get very quiet at the top end of the Soi. Kiwi Bar is great, Jason from Liverpool is the Manager, top bloke. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes from me here in Doncaster.
Oh, I've not heard that. It's always been a very busy bar, well run with great staff. I have a mate Khun Noom who works across the Soi in that new bar on the corner, I'll message him and find out more. Yes, there's definitely a short cut (Bpai-tang-lat in Thai language) It looks like its a dead end from Soi 8 but if you walk up past Lolitas there's a massage place at the end then you go left through the small walkway. It takes you past Phachara Suites which are on Soi 6. Walk past there you suddenly you join Soi 4 half way up near the Swan Thai Restaurant. You actually go past a couple of smaller bars, left hand side, which are quite good, on the way to Soi 4. Thanks Ian, best wishes.
03:14 little soi takes through to soi 6 ( be careful 2 little bars on the corner where you can go for.....well ill leave it to your imagination !!!) then onto soi 4 08:40 Hopeland very nice hotel (but don't ask for a 4am wake up call as i didnt get one !!!) and Kiwi pub has moved to the 1st little soi on the right as you walk down
Is that July 2nd or Feb 7th? sorry but everywhere seems to be different when using just numbers, you probably see that yourself with all your travels. I will take it as July though. I thought you had left for Germany by then. Time flies.
Well i am going to have to try that pork belly when In Feb. you sold me. I plan to stay Soi 11 so just across the road really. Adelphi is a good choice as well. Though think they are a little overpriced. But probably the best hotel so close to Nana BTS. Cheers.
Kiwi moved to the first side alley he walked by. They are building a large condo at its previous location though I heard Kiwi might return to the ground floor of the building once the construction is completed. The guy totally missed the infamous Lolita’s BJ bar on the second alley and seemed unaware this alley is a shortcut to Soi 6 to access Soi 4 and NaNa. He also did not comment on the Monsoon Cafe, which is part of the upscale Aldephi Hotel. What a waste of time, this video is. Soi 8 is fairly boring though has some good restaurants. This is an old video. At least filmed two years ago. He also walked by a budget apartment I stayed in several times. But like I said, there is no reason to go deep in this Soi. Nothing to see here. Move along...really a useless video.
I know I do shopping near home in Golders Green in the grocer shop .. in Thailand I eat carefully Only in restaurant or in the hotel where u stay .. but definitely not of the street
the kiwi is a good place for breakfast, nice soi 8, good to see you do a vlog on it.
Thanks bro. It has now moved so am told. Maybe next trip ? Also hearing about a short cut from soi 8 to soi 4.
Enjoyed that video Ian That Soi 8 looks good A nice place to chill out
Thanks, yes a nice soi
Can you stay at the Adelphi Suites and bring a guest in with you without a fee?
You need Big Fat Besty for that
I was there a few weeks ago and the kiwi had moved into a Soi off Soi 8 ,
Has it opened back up or is this filmed a while ago ?
Vlog filmed earlier in the year.
Excellent video on soi 8 bkk..
Thank you
Ian, i love your work but i gotta say your walk-arounds are the best - i think that is where you will hit it out of the part! thank u
Wow thanks man ! Think i will do more next trip.
soi 8 looks a bit soi rambutri with the lights and neons etc, nice ,not much traffic is a plus too
Yes the lack of traffic is very welcome.
Another great vlog Ian. But again I'm starving watching this.. I can almost smell what you are eating lol 😂. Great stuff thanks. Regards Davie

some folks specialize in this, some at that, but walkarounds fit u bet. Thanks for your fine efforts.
Thanks. More to come.
I use to stay at the Stable Lodge on soi 8 for years.I broke a chair at the Kiwi ,it was rotten ,on the Outside patio.
Thanks
Enjoyed
Thanks
Looks a busy soi Ian what time of year did you take this walk?
Date is in the description

While the restaurant might not be the cheapest that pork belly was so nice. Hotels are a case of what your needs are and what deals you can find.
That was too much food for me. Glad you enjoyed it though.
Hmmmm yea that pork belly ! So good.
remmber pork is NOT kosher 😊

Yea other foods available
I know I do shopping near home in Golders Green in the grocer shop .. in Thailand I eat carefully Only in restaurant or in the hotel where u stay .. but definitely not of the street
I eat street food in Thailand all the time, without any problems, but as always if a lot of people eat there, if none do not
Needs better focus. Not as good as most.
Yea auto focus was off.
