How to Needle Felt a Ball for Beginners

In this video I'll talk you through making a needle felted ball from core wool, this is ideal for a beginner to needle felting and shows you how to make a 1.5 inch diameter needle felted ball which can be transformed into a Christmas tree bauble.

Materials you'll need:
Core Wool or any coloured carded wool (The core wool I used was from Heidi feathers, 200gms, which is loads!, for £12.99)
Fine or Medium Felting needles, Foam or mat to work on, Multi needle holder (optional)

Can I do it wit cotton?

Hi there, to be honest I've never tried to needle felt cotton wool, I've always used felting wool, it is possible to get vegan or plant based fibres that will needle felt, but I doubt that cotton wool would give good results, you could try watching this video that Pam Duthie has made on this subject, hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/91M1h5Bthks/видео.html

Are you using needle felting needles? As normal sewing needles will not work 😊

Ok 🤔 it does take a lot of stabbing before the wool starts to get firmer, but it's hard to know why it's not working for you, you could try watching my video on common needle felting mistakes here ruclips.net/video/UFm2e_Ulowk/видео.html. Hopefully that might help you, good luck
