Most satisfying rabbit hole in existence. It’s a remarkable story and every early video, live performance, documentary, and vlog peels back another layer of the onion. Eventually you discover that they are great musicians, great people, and adorable bad asses that care very much about their craft, their family and their fans. Utterly unique, in my opinion.
This band is special, as in classic rock special! I'm 69, former operations manager of an alternative rock college radio station in the 1970s, and have heard tons of music from all the major genres. So I'm pretty critical. The Warning tick ALL the boxes for me. Great lyrics? Check. Great compositions? Check. Great arrangements? Absolutely. Great musicianship? In spades. Great vocals? Certainly! Check out their original music. But start with the live shows on their channel! As good as album cuts and lyric videos are, their official music videos and their live concert shows are the best examples of their work. This is a touring band KNOWN for their live work. So don't miss the lives. They absolutely entertain their audiences. The Pepsi Center tenth anniversary show from 10/28/2023 is outrageously well done on all levels.
From Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill album. Jagged Little Pill is one of the most successful albums of the 1990s. It has sold over 33 million copies worldwide. It received nine Grammy Award nominations, of which it won five: Album of the Year, making her the youngest artist to win the award at the time; Best Rock Album; Best Female Rock Vocal Performance ("You Oughta Know"); Best Rock Song ("You Oughta Know"); and Best Long Form Music Video. It was certified ten times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), seventeen times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and double diamond by Music Canada, making Morissette the first Canadian artist to achieve double diamond. With combined sales of over 33 million copies worldwide, Jagged Little Pill is one of the best-selling albums of all time.
A cover of Alanis Morrisette! David Navarro on guitar, Flea on Bass from Red Hot Chili Peppers. Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters on drums. Alanis sang this with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Foo Fighters in a tribute to Taylor Hawkins two years ago. The Warning do them all justice.
Taylor Hawkins did NOT play on the studio track, although he did tour with Alanis for the Jagged Little Pill tour. Matt Laug was the drummer who recorded the studio track.
@ Thanks. Forgot about Matt Laug. My son was playing ‘six degrees of Kevin Bacon’. The Warning opened for Foo Fighters and met Taylor Hawkins. One degree to Alanis Morisette.
The Warning, I think, are going to be legends in the future. But Dany, especially, in decades to come will be regarded as one of the best rock vocalists of all time. This is how legends are born.
More of The Warning? If you’re gonna force us, I guess that’d be ok. 😏 The good news is that you have soooo much to go through! Even if it’s just the “live” stuff, there’s plenty to dive into & I’m here for it! ⚡️🤘
Good call to keep going. You know how sometimes you hear 5 songs by a band and think Okay, I know what they’re all about. This doesn’t happen with them. Of course they have a recognizable sound everything they do stands on its own. Thanks
Great reaction, no ooo aaahs just constructive comments and feedback. Yeah it’s my favourite version of this song now, sorry Alanis - these young ladies have just blown you, Dave Navaro, Flea and Taylor Hawkins (RIP) into the weeds! Edit: more of The Warning, don’t worry, your not the first to go head over heels down the rabbit hole! 😂
There are levels to slaying, and they blew the top off. Ale, in particular, killed that base line. Dany's vocals were right there with Alanis. Pau was smooth, even though I hate that they put her in that box.
