I was in the pit at FOX_FEST for this performance and it went HARD live! Such a fun show and this was the absolute apex of the whole event. The crowd went completely nuts, and this video does a great job of conveying how hype it was being there.

I just discovered them earlier this year and liking them a lot.

An epic collab to be sure, and an incredible song; it sounds like it could be in a Disney animated musical. Great song, great collab, undoubtedly a terrific concert, but the editing of this video leaves much to be desired - visually, it's a train wreck: the whole video was chopped up into two- and three-second bits. It's as if they put the tapes of five or six different cameras into a blender and this was the result: it's an epileptic seizure just waiting to happen. And I have no idea who thought doing "fly-bys" is/was "artistic". 😢 🦊🤘

You may think it's done but that doesn't necessarily mean it IS done. Fortunately, in this case, you really didn't miss anything but there are a few BABYMETAL videos in which something happens within the last two or three seconds of the video. Just sayin'. Welcome back to the Foxhole.🦊🤘🐭 This single reached Number 1 best selling single in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! Gotta love SuMetal in full Su-ccubus mode.😈🤘❤️ They cut the final part when Su said louder "Thank you Nico and Kevin from Electric Callboy" and all of them hug each other just like they did it again at Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring, also at Resurrection Fest last weekend finishing the Europe Tour in Spain. Fun fact: One of the singers said that it was kinda hard to do that dance move with the hand while moving the head at the beginning. Also at the end, during the third chorus, which btw was a BM suggestion to include (EC didn't want a third chorus), in the MV you can see them doing the same dance move waving theirs arms up and down, they wanted to do it in the live version but they failed and quit when starting with the wrong foot lol Another more recent fun fact: BM said in a interview that they got this song and felt they needed to ask EC to collaborate with them because it wasn't complete without them. It is known BM composers and producer love to make tributes and make songs with certain influence on another bands, they did it a lot of times before, one of the most known was with DragonForce doing the guitar arrangements for Road Of Resistance album version, this time EC got more involved in the whole song and that's why they got another 50% of collab credits, so it was a BM initiative. EC played after this at Sweeden Rock. After that they played with BM together once again at Rock Im Park during EC setlist and later at BM setlist with the girls wearing new badass outfits, they also did it the next day at Rock Am Ring twice and there are two cool proshot clips already. They've been rocking out the Europe Tour with this song and collab of the year and like I said BM finished the Europe Tour playing this together once again at Resurrection Fest in Spain. Next July 4th is MoaMetal's birthday so if you didn't I suggest you these songs to honor her special b'day: - Love Machine live at Legend 1999 (2013). - MoaBanger live at Legend M 2019, which is Headbanger!! with MoaMetal singing the 2nd part. - Onedari Daisakusen live at Budokan 2021, MoaMetal solo performance. - GJ! live at Budokan 2021, another MoaMetal solo performance. These last two songs are originally Black Babymetal songs with only Yui and MoaMetal performing, so if you don't know the original performance then disregard these recommendations. You're video title is wrong. This isn't Babymetal featuring Electric Callboy - this is a full collaboration, hence the Babymetal x Electric Callboy name. I know, you've said it right - but both of your videos still call it "ft." for whatever reason.

The song appeared before the release of the first album, and did not receive a release. But this is rare for them, but it occurs 😅. I would recommend listening to their song "Lion", which one of the band members (Johnny 3-tears) shone on his daughter

Metali is the correct translation. But the concept behind it is abit more complicated. There are Summerfests in Japan, when the men of the village carry Status through the village. They only wear a small loincloth but every men shall be a part of it. In Sus Version there is no reszriction to boy or girl, everybody joins. And this song had also zhe special meaning, to present Momo, their new member. And especially her new capabilities. Since Babymetal learned after their work with electric Callboy, how important Growling can be they now started to call it Momos Fangs.

And a jump back of five years. They released is as a part of Metal galaxy. Su was really worried if this is still Metal. It was one of her softest Songs ever. So it was pretty fast forgotten after the release of this Album, that had many surprises. But after all this time, they found it again, with a slight change. Babymetal can release whatever they want. It simply showed how versatile they are. Especially with Momo on Board. Especially if we cobsider further Collabs, this can be quite an Element for Babymetal.

Great reaction, thanks! Yes, song's name is "Metali" (metari) which is the combination of "metaru" (metal) and "matsuri" (traditional Japanese summer festival). So it's a "matsuri" influenced song and it's all about hyping the crowd and inviting them to dance and sing along. Musically, it's very groovy and funky. I love Su's clean yet aggressive vocals here. Really cool collaboration with Tom Morello who commented this: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I've been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of 'Metali!!' I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!". I'm very happy for Momoko on her first song as an official member (this is from 2023 H2) and also for her feature on that kabuki (traditional Japanese theater) style interlude. About meeting them... it's not that easy. They value their privacy and don't met people outside the bands they play with in concerts and festivals. The only person I've interacted with online that actually met them is Alan from the band and YT channel Dicodec. But it was on a professional duty as a sound engineer for an interview with Fox 5 in NY last year. He vastly explained his experience in a video. And it's cool af. 😁 🤘🦊

Keanu Reeves was able to meet them. Not because he's a famous actor, but because he plays bass in the band Dogstar, and they were also performing at Rock am Ring in Germany. : )

Great reaction - and yes this one is great fun.🤘🦊 The song title doesn't really translate easily - it is 'Metali' or 'Metari' and it is a made up word fusing Metal and Matsuri (festival). It is another of their fun songs with all the shouts (like wasshoi, dokkoisho, sore etc) that would be called out at Japanese summer festivals encouraging people carrying heavy floats and so on. This is a great live song - and they get the whole crowd jumping and having a good time every time, just as they did here, with this one. The song is about a Metal village holding a Metal summer festival. There is something in the lyrics and in Momometal's Kabuki Theatre part about we are all fools - the fools who dance and the fools who watch - and as we're all here and we're all fools we may as well all dance.

We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, they performed this at the recent World Tour 2023/2024 and getting the crowd going bonkers with this. The live debut was at Apocrypha - Another One exclusive show prior to the track release, it was fun and totally unexpected, everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it. There's a live proshot version at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka released in the official summer sonic but it's heavily blocked, cool we got this new proshot version without copyright blocked. You'll notice some slight difference between the live and the studio album. During recent live shows at the Europe Tour you can see MomoMetal saying the second "I said everybody, get low" which btw the first shows playing in Japan and the US Tour 2023 they usually said "sit down". The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style. Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festivals when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune. I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts. Good one! Title is a made up word mashing _Metal_ with _Matsuri_ (Festival) to form _Metali,_ a “Metal Festival”. This was released around traditional Japanese Festival season. Google translate will have a hissy fit with that one haha. This performance is amazing, and one of the first few times we saw a whole new side of Momometal, as she unleashes Momozilla on stage 😂. 🤘🦊

Welcome back to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era.🦊🤘🌅 Usually the opener for every live show at the World Tour 2023/2024 is "Babymetal Death", i don't think there was a collab song as an opener ever. Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound. The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson and Scott LePage, and it's quite clear in the solo section. Polyphia got a viral clip when they were performing live and having an issue with the drummer IEM not working and a roadie helped him out in an unorthodox way to save the show, very funny clip. Their songs are mainly instrumental but i think they got some collabs with famous singers but don't quote that on me, what is for sure they got mad skills playing instruments. Tim Henson also said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song. The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc. Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly. Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together. They did it again last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix. Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it. In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one. 👍 👍 Easily one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs. Yes Tim and Scott's instrumentals are a driving force here but for me it is Suzuka's stunning vocal performance and Moa and Momo's beautiful backing vocals that seal it. Suzuka once again proves that (in my opinion) she is the most versatile and talented female singer today. She just loves to sing and it shows.

Opening song? Yes, it opens my soul to happiness 🤣🤘🦊 But no it's not an opener. Babymetal typically opens their show with BABYMETAL DEATH, and closes it with Road of Resistance. There are other opener/closers they've used though throughout time as well.

Great reaction. The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but as you are finding, they do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. When Polyphia was confirmed on the bill for Fox_Fest (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo) we all had a good idea of what would happen.🎸🎸 Tim Henson and Scott le Page provided and recorded the guitar track for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.
