Good reaction. 'Starlight' was the first of the three songs they ended their third album (Metal Galaxy - 2019) with. Collectively these three songs are known as the Trilogy of Lights. They describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close.
    - 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief. I hope you might follow this up with a live version.
    - 'Shine' is about accepting and coming to terms with the loss, letting go (I hope you can find the Legend M performance, that one is extra special - just Su, Moa and a guitar on stage and Moa's choreo is incredibly moving and emotional - it may also be Su-metal's finest vocal performance to date).
    - 'Arkadia' is about looking to the future and better times to come.
It has never been confirmed by anybody associated with BABYMETAL, but it has also never been denied - most fans with any heart (one or two argue against this of course) choose to believe the trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) who tragically died on 5th January 2018 after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing ... it is just speculation, but it is hard to believe there isn't something in it, especially given the lyrics of 'Starlight' -
"Fly higher in the sky [like a Stargazer]
Fly higher in the night [like a Stargazer]..."
    and
"Wherever we are we'll be with you
    We'll never forget shining starlight.
Wherever you are live in my heart
    We'll never forget shooting star."
and the Legend M performance in particular of 'Shine' would also suggest there is something in it.
'Starlight' and this video were also released on the same day that Yuimetal announced she had decided to leave the band and Su-metal has said how she thought of Yui and how she would have danced to this song. Coincidentally I believe today is Yui's birthday.🍅

    Welcome back to the Foxhole.
Starlight is part of the officially titled Trilogy Of Lights, a set of songs to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka, beloved Kami Band guitarist, and YuiMetal withdrawal, sadly both events happened in the same year 2018.
Also both love stargazing, but Mikio Fujioka passed away days after falling from an observatory deck. R.I.P. Mikio 🙌
Best wishes for YuiMetal, our forever tomato princess, which btw tomorrow is her birthday (today for Japanese time).🍅❤
Songs in order are: Starlight, Shine and Arkadia.
The images on this song are also related to the Chosen Seven lore and Dark Side era in 2018, they even got a totally different battle dress when performing live.
For Shine i highly suggest to check live at Legend M 2019.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Good one! This is song 1 of Trilogy of Lights.
Shine and Arkadia is #2 and #3. Fan theory: these songs are an unofficial tribute to Mikio Fujioka, their guitarist who passed away Jan 2018. The 3 songs represents grief, acceptance, then moving on.
Hope you check out the rest!

    Good one, thanks!
"Starlight" is the first song of the "Trilogy of Lights" which closes their third album, Metal Galaxy (2019). The song and music video came out during a very tough period for them, with Yui being absent for a year and having to face Mikio's untimely passing earlier that year. The trilogy is about the stages of grief being "Starlight" about the initial ones: denial and anger.
I've experienced it live in person once and Su's vocals almost moved me to tears. I strongly suggest you to check the live versions.

Great reaction, but I definitely recommend you react to the live Triology Of Light set (Starlight, Shine, Arkadia) at the Legend M concert to get a sense of the personal impact on Su and Moa ❤🦊🤘

not only the sequel to Distortion, but the start of the trilogy of lights, Distortion is pretty much their entrance to the darkside era and Starlight is somewhat representative of the tragedies that happened to them and then "Shine" represents the healing process and "Arkadia" the resolve to move forward into the future. It's a beautiful story from beginning till now, I am totally devoted to BABYMETAL, only the fox-god knows where they will go from here, but I know one thing for sure, I am all in till the end.

Seriously? You HAVE to watch BabyMetal in live performances. The songs don't have the same impact otherwise. Unbelievable.
