I was at Makuhari for this performance and it was beyond epic. If you haven't seen them live, make it your mission to see them at least once.

There has been two previous times I have said Su has never looked and sounded so beautiful to me. 1st was Legend S No Rain No Rainbow. 2nd was Legend M Shine. Now I HAVE to add a 3rd time. Su looked beyond enchanting and sounds amazing. I mean look at 7:03. That Beautiful Death Glare.
Moa as always is beautiful and I love her English pronunciation Like I said before her voice is pure warmth. Moa at 6:26 so powerful.

This was still the studio audio. I imagine it sounded even better live with the Kami Band. This was like Shine when just Su and Moa performed it during Moa's 20th bday show. (Kano was performing the rest of the time with Su and Moa) Momoko came out (at this show) after and all 3 were performing for the rest of the show.
I adore both these women. They are perfect. I am going to have to copy and paste most of my comment because I have a feeling I am going to be seeing reactions all day! 🤘🦊🤘

I was there and I can tell you that Su's stage presence in person is almost overwhelming. She is the most charismatic person I think I've ever seen.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 This video is from Makuhari show on Jan.28 /29 and I believe it was filmed on Day-2. I witnessed both shows. What did I think? More than amazing!😍 Once this opening song got started, I had too much goosebumps and was about to be a real goose 😄. Seriously many of audience were moved to tears or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. Oh oh oh o o o. What a happy experience!!
After this opening, 3 girls performed with Momoko Avenger.
BTW, did you see 3 (not 2) thrones at 03:37 in your video. The 3rd girl is going to be unveiled officially in the next shows in Yokohama on April 1/2. Yes, at last ✌

@@htusda1 Lucky you! I believe Team BM knows how passionately their fans in the world are longing for seeing their shows live. After Yokohama, new 3-girl-unit is scheduled to join the Sabaton tour. We will see what is going to happen thereafter. Japanese fans like me will be able to endure their absence because BM has already done a lot for their homeland.
What this performance could have used was Su's fox servants from Legend S I can picture the foxes banging the drums on this as well

This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide.
Last weekend at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production.
SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. I'm freaking out with the cinematic drone shots!
We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound.
There were many news and announcements, probably they will have a new official member (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama, so maybe finally your wish will come true.
There was some minor issues when SuMetal was singing this live a little bit off, apparently an IEM issue or something but is all good coz we all know it's been a while since performing live and is the premiere of this song, pretty sure next live shows will be better.

You have to remember; this is an opening track for the "concept" or themed album. I am not totally sure, but the "other one" could be final announcement of a third permanent member on Fox Day, April 1, which will probably be Momoko
Good reaction. They have a lot of wild, fast songs - this just isn't one of them, it was the big theatrical opening number at their concerts last weekend. One of the best things about BABYMETAL and that makes them stand out against so many other bands is that not every song is the same.
Also this was filmed so recently and they already got the video out so it isn't so surprising they used the studio audio for it.
We will have to wait for the DVD (or the WOWOW live stream at the end of this month) to get the live audio - for the moment this was all about the spectacle.
The Kami Band don't do the screams and growls, those are always on backing track.
There were 3 'Avengers' who would take turns filling in as dancers in the third spot - Riho, Kano and Momoko. They were never official members of BABYMETAL so did not have a mic or sing ... but it seems that may all change from April. I think you have already been told about what was hinted at at the end of the second concert last weekend.
A little clarification about the dances. When Yui officially left due to undisclosed health concerns they announced a rotating cast of 3 dancers called the Avengers to fill in the choreography. They were Riho, Kano, and Momoko. All three girls are trained idols and can sing but they never had a mic. Kano is the avenger you probably recognize the most because she’s in the PA PA YA!!, Shanti Shanti Shanti and Elevator Girl music videos. She was the Avenger the least amount of times because she only did the shows in Japan probably because she was still in Sakura Gakuin (the group that spawned babymetal) and because she was 15. She is currently in an all girl idol group called @onefive. Riho did a large bulk of the shows until the second half of the European tour. She is one of the avengers in the Da Da Dance video. Riho was definitely the most well known dancer. Riho was in a very popular idol group called Morning Musume before dancing for babymetal. She was the center of the group and is still considered to be the ace of morning Musume. It was actually controversial in Japan that Riho came back in the spotlight as a back up dancer (she probably only did it because her and su went to actors school Hiroshima together) She is currently signed to another label and putting out solo music. Momoko has been the avenger the longest doing the entire tour as well as the televised performances and the entirety of the 10 Budokon shows. She is also the avenger in The Da Da Dance video with along with Riho. She was also the dancer in the concert this video was filmed at. The heavily hinted that she is going to be a permanent member of the group. The started both days with 3 thrones on the stage one wasn’t lit up and they ended the last concert with su and Moa standing on the sides behind two coffins. A third coffin then appeared in the center with a girl with the avengers hair style with a video stating a new metal is about to be born and that it will be revealed at the two shows in Yokohama. So momoko is most likely being added as a permanent member maybe even being mic’d. Yokohama is actually the town that Yui was born and raised in. Momoko was also raised in Yokohama moving there when she was 3. I hope they do add her she has worked so hard for them. If she is added and the give her a mic too I hope that they will let Moa start singing live again(she stopped when Yui left probably because her vocals are catered for two people to sing them together).

Not a large venue. It was an awesome night.
I will see them again. The arena shows are always full of fog and fire, with huge moving stages. Check out the opener for the Legend S show “In the name of.”
This song does make more sense with the show behind it.
Last night was Setsubun Fest in Japan, and I threw beans and drank. Then I went to bed and woke up, and I found that some outrageous had been dropped!
I watched this song live at the their show on Saturday of 28th Jan. When Su- sat on the throne of the monochrome and throny set, put on the black color outfits, started singing it off on sitting, and I saw it on the big screen, I thought for a second that the 'Alien Queen' was singing it, ha. It reminded me of the shuddering scene from that film I watched decades ago. I believe she has always sung standing up. She's hardly ever sung sitting down, has she? Only when she played the piano? That her is now a dignified woman. She even has dignity.
To tell you the truth, I felt that Su- was still not getting used to the way she sang, and I guess she went a little out of some notes. Takano Seminar has pointed the same thing out on his YT channnel right after the shows and I agreed with it. But on the contrary, it was very raw and I felt like I stood in front of the live show, and was rather so good. It got goosebumps and cried for me, haha. But this seems to be still backing vocals. I look forward to the live DVD.

First off that was worth the expense for me to travel halfway across the world. In my opinion, the difference between art and something perhaps computer generated is the imperfections. Please correct me, but isn’t there some saying in Japan about 1,000 cherry blooms and no two are alike? Well Queen Su is unmatched! I’m happy to see her finally get her throne. She deserves it! @@michelm.6033 Yes. I am glad you enjoyed and are satisfied it. What you mean, 'no two things are alike', is '唯一無二' (Yui-itsu muni) in Kanji. The very live shows mean it so. And I think it is valuable to be there.
But, I believe Su-'s singing would have been better on Sunday's one? My memory is fuzzy but Flugelhorn said something like that.. So I'm actually jealous foy you, haha. But oh well, I was there for the real world live premiere!, ha.
I hear that some of the old fans from the early days in Japan, are bored to now BM because the kawaii, or playful elements are gone, and some of the overseas fans are disappointed at BM because the Japanese-like elements are gone. Well, I can understand what they said, but I am not disappointed at all.😀
@@minamihideki7123 Don’t listen to the noise. I’m old and oversees. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been with Babymetal. They are still a rising star in my opinion. Frankly, I think they are finally hitting their stride in the US after the COVID delay. The Sakura question was just confirmation of a saying. I don’t believe Su can have any bad show, but she’s almost human. Everyone needs practice. I think I’ve told you this story before, but I guess it deserves repeating.
As a martial artist years ago, I was instructed that perfection was a goal never to be achieved. On my first nuclear evaluation I was told perfection was not a goal, but the expectation. I still struggle with the two competing concepts.

No dissing at all 😅, I think that Metal Kingdom fulfills perfectly its purpose, being an opening song, for both their concept album and their shows, thus it has two main purpose, setting the sound for what's coming next, that's literally in the lyrics, and teasing you into listening more, that teasing part I think is what may disappoint, as the song is not really... closed, I mean, yes it has a proper ending, but it's like "there's more coming, but this one ends here", which again is perfect for an opening song. I'd say that so far it's their best one, as theatrical as In The Name Of at Legend S Baptism XX, but better as they're more involved.
As for the third member, it's very, very likely that she will be introduced on the next Fox Day, 1st of April.

Last week, I attended BABYMETAL's 2DAYS live show and felt that if you listen to the music, it's HEAVY METAL, if you see the stage, it's HAPPY METAL, and to fill in the gap, it's KAWAII😁. If I may say so, I think they became a little cooler 😊. But the cute part was still the same 😁.
The live started with this song. I sang it loudly 😁. It was so much fun 😁.
The live show was even more powerful😁I think the live sound video will be even better😊I'm looking forward to March.
I felt the same way. It's a more mature sound, but as newish fan, this being the first new album release since discovering them, I like their heavier stuff. However, this song grows on me every time I hear it. I do hope the album has some of the heavier Babymetal sound to it as well. I can see this being an awesome opener to build off of.
For those expecting the "same old BabyMetal", you're going to be disappointed. These girls are older and more mature. Their new stuff is going to grow with them.
You have to understand the entire song is an "INTRO" in itself for the album, and apparently the live shows since they opened with this for their recent concert. You can see it the way they choreagraphed this as a "walkout" instead of the usual full choreographed performance. You don't have to worry, because the full "regular" songs are still coming.
Them with staffs remind me of Witch Bandora (Rita Repulse) from the Power Rangers lol.. This nothing new.. They done this for openings since Hiroshima 2017. The new official 3rd should be Momoko which would not be a such of surprise. The surprise would be if it is someone else and with a microphone. One person may be Saya who danced for them in 2018 (pre Avengers). On Twitter During her birthday she was thanked BOH and Takayoshi for birthday wishes and stated she looked forward to working with them this year... So.. Maybe.. 🤔 Also.. Hope in April they drop the ridiculous masks on the Kami band..

@Local Band Smokeout yes, indeed, at least we now have official visuals of the performance 😌👍, but yes, given the few fancams that managed to reach us, the live sound has the crowd shouting the recurring Whoho chorus as expected 😌, that makes it more ... powerful.

In the metal genre so many bands churn out the same stuff, so everything ends up sounding the same. The heavier or crazier tracks have an impact because of the variety on an album. BTW, the Bring Me the Horizon sound is exactly what BABYMETAL are going for. We saw that with tracks like BxMxC and (of course) Kingslayer.
As for members, Momoko performed once again alongside Su & Moa. But not on this particular song. If you noticed, there where three thrones, and it's expected a permanent third member will be revealed at their next shows. They're basically working through a new story with the TOO concept album.

Like a lot of singers she usually holds the microphone in her left hand so her right is free to gesture.
There is footage of her signing things, and that's always with her right hand.

For me, much as I like the track, the video feels rushed.
I feel that way too but it’s probably because of the time line they had. In fan footage from the first day you can here that Su’s ear piece was messing up since she started to have trouble singing on time in the second verse so they had less footage they could use. They probably had to get the video out this week since we are getting a new song this month probably next week or the following. Since we are also getting a new song in early March and the album on march 25, they probably had to release now to avoid over saturation.
Babymetal is a Las Vegas show act. Their actual music is secondary. I think you could replace any of the members with any number of skilled musicians and not miss a beat.
Agree completely. I triggered a lot of babymetal fans on Twitter when I said the same thing.
I agree in part with you. They are definitely a Las Vegas style, over the top production. They can and have in fact replaced, or substituted in other musicians over the years. However, all of the musicians they’ve used are world class. I can give examples, but you are correct in that. What really can’t be replaced is Su-Metal, or her top tier vocals. You might be able to replace Moametal, as occurred with Yui, but that would be a travesty. In short, Babymetal is marketed (currently) as the two women with the support of session musicians and everyone else.
No band in the world survives with only theatrics, the music is the main focus.
You can replace any singer or musician in any band and they would basically sound the same, many bands have and didnt miss a beat. BABYMETAL is no different for better or worst. Last Slipknot, Kiss, etc. say hello from the strip.
