I know this video is a couple years old but I wanted to drop a like and comment to say thanks. My '07 factory radiator started leaking and your video helped me with my swap. You probably saved me about an hour on my install. It's not a bad swap but it's nice to not have to stop and figure out every little thing while working.
Yes! Getting a koyo or mishimoto rad for my HR soon so this process ESPECIALLY last part involving the coolant was extremely helpful. Thanks a bunch brotha!
Awesome yeah both great choices! Glad I could help! Let me know if you have any questions. Definitely get one of those funnels and you will never have an issue. I’ve done multiple coolant flushes since making this video and it’s been great every time!
Your bleed valve is on the right because it's a HR motor... every other video is pretty much a DE motor, so the valve is on the left. Also, pretty good video - I had to change out my HR radiator today and this helped me out a lot with the air conditioner condenser part. I got stuck in the same place you did and I found this video. Good job man :)
It all dePends on the brand. Different companies are doing all different colors now. Just drain as much out of your engine as you can and as long as your bottle says for Asian vehicles you’re fine. Or get OEM coolant from Nissan if you’re worried about mixing. I think liquid moly is purple and Preston’s is lime green yellow and I think mishimoto is orange. But they’re all meant for our cars.
hey so i bought a radiator from z1 motorsports however the plugs and all of that stuff is on the side ?? it’s supposedly a replacement for my auto 08 z
Apparently there’s no aftermarket radiators for automatic transmission HRs so I did all of this PLUS buying a transmission fluid cooler. And I’m having hella trouble hooking mine up. Some tranny fluid spilled on the ground
Just for reference, Denso offers a factory replacement radiator for auto Z's. It is a direct drop in. I just installed one in my '07 HR auto with zero issues.
So when should the bleeder valve be opened? And if you open it and no coolent comes out does that means air is in the sytem still? and once coolant comes out the bleeder valve you just close it tight and dont touch it anymore right??
Alex Villalobos open it before you start filling it and leave it open while you start pouring in coolant until it starts to come out the bleeder valve and then once it starts to leak out close it and you should be good to go
@@choppaj247 you’re right. Left side (driver side). From the direction I was looking at the car it was my right at the time… but yes you are correct that is the left side of the car. 👍
Thanks for the vid, this helps for us HR owners
souless194 thanks for the love and yeah for sure!

Love my roadster great color bro
I see that you replaced the old radiator, (made with plastic) with an "all alluminum" radiator.
Great video!!
Yes I replaced it with a Mishimoto radiator. Thank you appreciate it!
i thought our coolant was green? this video has definitely prepped me to start my hr swap

Hey ik this video is so long ago but what is the exact color name for that blue??
Bought the car with this blue wrap on it so I’m sorry but I unfortunately have no idea.

Hmm idk why the radiator would be different for a manual vs auto… didn’t know that was a thing. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.
@@z33_matty62 It’s all good tho. I got her back running. 💪 thanks for the run through man. I appreciate it!

@@z33_matty62 Yeah the auto has extra lines on the bottom that go to another mini radiator that's used for cooling the transmission.
