xqc asking where the stars are at 44:30 and chat asking where the sun is lmao brother you are staring at the dark side of the earth. there is a planet in the way!
no otherwise you would see street lights and stuff from the earth. Its because the cameras arent tuned to see dimmer sources of light. Think of light pollution when trying to see stars in the city
For those asking "WHY NO STARS" or "WHY NO CITY LIGHTS", it's because cameras work in a similar way to our eyes. If you go from looking at extremely bright sunlight outdoors into a super dim lit cave, you will only see pitch black as soon as you enter. Our eyes need to adjust to the dark by opening the pupils to let more light in, so you can see the details in the dark. But as soon as you step outside again, everything is now too freaking bright, almost blinding, now our eyes need to adjust again by closing the pupils and limiting the light coming in. We literally can't see details in both super dark and super bright at the same time. Cameras work basically the same way, they (in general) can't see super bright and super dark at the same time. By adjusting the aperture, shutter speed or ISO, cameras can control how much light goes in to the sensor/film. Since the sun reflecting on earth is absurdly bright, if you want to see the earth properly during the day from space, the camera needs to limit the light that goes in, therefore making the things that are not incredibly bright (stars and city lights) basically disappear. If you wanted to see the stars and city lights, they would have to let in way more light, but that would cause the bright side of the earth to be a pure white blob. There's just an absurd difference in brightness between the stars, city lights against the sun, and you can only see one or the other at a given time (unless you combine images, long exposure, HDR bla bla which is not applicable here).
