Mark Farner was one of my early musical inspirations, and has since become an inspiration as a human being. Just a classy, quality -- and very talented, guy!
I saw GFR in 1971 & again in the mid 90's when the band reformed & Mark solo several times. He still has the voice, enthusiasm & stage presence. GO MARK!!!
Met Mark personally playing at a show when living in Vegas in 1989, and after the show he invited my wife and I onto his bus, being just us and Mark, who was so down to earth, and just a great guy!

My grandparents lived 2 doors down from Mel Shockers house in Flint. When we was little, we visit Grama and grampa every summer in Flint. We hear them practice in the garage before they made it big, it was right next door to the burger king on Davidson rd

Great production and mixing. Has way more dynamics, energy and clarity than any of the awards shows that nobody watches any longer. Those are always massively compressed garbage.

Mark still rocks hard. His back singers, not so much.
I always thought this song killed this band. Loved their live album, closer to home and flight of the phoenix were great, then they came out with this pop crap and all us hard rockers thought they betrayed us. No one wanted to listen to this snot. Compared to Inside Looking out LIVE and Into the Sun, I'm your Captain, etc. They didn't communication like todays internet. So all my friends in college hated this move to go commercial and sell us all out. They could go play to the 13 year olds. At the time we were old all of 18 or 19.
Mark still sounds great and can move. Background singers were too mellow!

Oh man, the back-up singers...they sing well but somehow they just don't do this song any justice. If milktoast sounded like something, that's how these singers sound.

OK now I can sleep gn & God bless us
