The BBC Light Program ran from 1945 to 1967 when it became Radio 2 and Radio 1 was introduced for the young generation as up to that point there was very little pop music on the BBC , from 1964 to 1967 pop music was broadcast on Pirate Radio which the Government outlawed in 1967, there was Radio Luxembourg but that used to fade in and out and was only available at night time

So nothing about the BBC has changed.
What British People Were Listening To On The Radio In 1927 believe me kids, the british broadcasting corp is not highbrow.....
They were not listening to the Beatles. Or The Rolling Stones.
