@@CaptainCFalcon honestly both aren’t too difficult imo. Ceadeus is kinda like an extremely massive lagiacrus but his compromise is being quite possibly the slowest monster in the series besides the mohrans and Zorah magdaros. Dire miralis I can consistently solo with melee in around 15-20 minutes. In simple terms he’s a very slow fatalis. That fight is all about positioning and knowing when to be aggressive or to back off, respectively when he’s standing and when he’s crawling. Once you get that down (which isn’t super difficult), pretty much the only way you can die is by getting comboed into a snap and drag or fire nuke.
@@omegawario7479 I never said anything about the difficulty. I was talking strictly on their categorization. Ceadeus is an Elder Dragon, while Dire Miralis is specifically a BLACK Dragon.
@@CaptainCFalcon oh well enjoy my dire miralis guide regardless. But yeah he’s pretty high above ceadeus lore wise. All ceadeus did was cause a few earthquakes but dire sank an island and killed an entire ecosystem just by existing.
I'd actually really love Qurupeco to return. I don't know why we haven't seen it much, but I think it'd be a cool addition, especially with how maps and loading zones work now. Though, with ride mechanics from Rise, I think that fight would be a bit too easy. I'm also a little hopeful about Gobul, as it seems like Rise has tried to rework how Leviathans work a bit, and it might be possible for him to function like Nibelsnarf, especially since we have the Flooded Forest where he hails from.
a monster that calls in other monsters as backup is a great mechanic, especially if they can come up with a way for Qurupeco to change up it's attacks after it watches another monster tussle with the hunter.
Man, I love Gigginox. When I encountered it in Portable 3rd for the first time, I was really surprised and actually kinda scared. I mean, this monster really is... monstrous. It's not just a Big Animal, or a Dragon. It legitimately looks like stuff of nightmares. In comparison, Khezu feels like the lamer younger brother (even though it was created earlier, I know). If it doesn't come back in Sunbreak, it probably never will. You know, considering the gear you get out of it is heavily styled after vampires, and Malzeno is quite literally a vampire.
I hope it'll get added back. After all, the only other monster with Life Drain is Zamite, and it's in base Rise. Plus, those weird-looking endemic life that surround Malzeno might also inflict Life Drain, too. ...Oh yeah, don't forget about the grab attacks that many monsters have. They could easily implement Gigginox's "succ attack".
Gobul is also heavily inspired by the wonderfully named wobbegong(the body shape and barbels) and the stonefish(the toxic spikes). Personally I would like to see the queen vespoid come back but completely remade.
Why is nobody mentioning that the Gobul is literally an anglerfish and a pufferfish combined? I see the Wobbegong and stonefish inspiration but its pretty obvious its an anglerfish. (Im typing this at 1am and havent even watched the video. Good night)
Ghiggi not returning while we get constant returns of the shaved turkey that is Khezu continues to infuriate me. I've only really played FU and Gen myself, and I'd love to take on what seems to be a nice twist to the leech wyvern design, but nooo we got to include the waddling electric turducken *again*.
I would like to see Dire return. Historically speaking, there has been at least one Black Dragon for every G-Rank expansion; and I'm pretty sure most of us are tired of fighting Alatreon and Fatalis every game. I'm sure they're aware they can't keep this up forever, and they can't just make more BDs because the title would lose its status. The potential he has with new technology is something I wish to see explored. I (like many others) don't think the water portion of the fight is necessary as it can just be replaced with siege weaponry. Capcom, however, doesn't see it the same way so I doubt he ever will return unless they decide to remaster 3U.
Imagine water combat with a wirebug. That would be so sick in terms of movement. Water combat was mainly annoying due to the lack of being able to dodge unless u had extended because of the ridiculous end lag the dodge had. With a wirebug and the fast mobility it would be WAY better But then again; swimming wouldn’t be an exclusive 3u thing anymore
I think an equal dragon weapon fight would be neat to have in an expansion instead of a black dragon as the final boss, that or they could bring the frontier powerhouses (dhisufiroa, duremudira, merphestophelin, shantien, etc) back as final bosses
I honestly miss the underwater fights. I get why they removed it, it was clunky and often frustrating, but the feeling of having to dive into an environment where the monster is stronger and I'm weaker is a thrill for me.
Agreed. But I think with enough time and effort, they can make under water combat at least enjoyable and not so clunky, we are in 2023 now, you can't tell me that's impossible. 😅
@@blackstone7468 yes, of course they were crap. But with enough effort and how smooth nowadays Monster Hunter ist, you can't tell me that Capcom can't fix it
I would love to see underwater return with more modern tech at their disposal. Not just updated versions of things like Ceadeus and Gobul, but new ideas as well. I really think the idea has potential now that a lot of the clunkiness that the older games are known for has been ironed out.
Personally, i prefer Gigionox to Khezu. I like the design more, the fight is more engaging, and that might just be me, but the lack of music when fighting Khezu makes the fight even more boring to me. Its a shame he will probably never return because of Khezus popularity. Also Great Video as always
Gigginox is objectively better than khezu. I'm geniunely schocked khezu is in any way popular. he ain't even scary or threatening, least of it fun. he just looks like a rotisserie chicken and he's painfully slow. god, i'm geniunely angry now lol
Giginox is interesting but I find it's design cheesy/corny for me, maybe because there were other new monsters from the same game that shared Tigrex body structure 'naruga, barioth', and I thought that they were uninspired, anatomy-wise...
it's like choosing the lesser evil, when gigginox doesn't stop jumping around, i'd much rather have red light green light- the monster, he's at least funny to bully with weapons have counters
Honestly, I'd love to see a return of Dire Miralis or Shen Gaoren. With the addition of the Wirebug mechanics and the Rampage system, I think it would be possible to work these monsters back into the game. For the overheat mechanic of Dire Miralis, perhaps introduce a unique ballista/cannon type that inflicts water/Ice blight, like what you can do with the ice barrel bombs, in order to cool it down for a period of time while hunters beat it down,
That would be pretty good for Dire, maybe give his weakpoints stages where his fire attacks become stronger and stronger the hotter he becomes so you have to cool him off before he ends up 1 shotting you
The mh devs themself Said that Out of all the black dragons they would Like to Bring Back dire the Most ,but Not without underwater . So that combined with the fact that they didn't introduce lagiacrus in iceborne and rise (He was ready by the time iceborne released but they decided to keep him for a more fitting Moment ) i think that it could be possible to See underwater Return in mh6
@@lucastolter6344 I'm hopeful for UW to make a return in MH6 but I'm not getting my hopes up, depending if they try to streamline MH more by removing staple items as something you have to bring along or just flat out remove them (hot/cold drinks/map effects) I wont even be buying the game.
@@chadsullivan3645 to be real hot/cold Drinks were Just Not that good of a idear to begin with , Like what did they really Change in terms of Gameplay ? It was Just to counter a minor Map effect . And i honestly wouldn't want them to Bring them Back the Same way they worked before . Maybe rework them so that you only need them to counter certain Monsters (Like cold Drinks for Stuff Like teostra or agnaktor ) that would be cool, but otherwise i never Had the Feeling of Missing anything Just because i didn't have to Drink a useless Potion anymore. It went to the Point where even in world,Gen or older Games i Just decided to Not really use them for the Most Part . Also as far as i know rise has a more Streamline Design because of it beeing designed as a portable Title,so Main Focus on Combat and less on everything Else . World as an example was way more balanced because it was a Home console Title and expected you spent multiple hours at once , to this day (with over 2k hours in ) i still Sometimes find new Monster idle Animations /daily routines in world and i think thats Just amazing
@@lucastolter6344 Besides a smidge of realism in needing some way to deal with the high-extreme weather conditions in some maps (deserts, tundras, volcanoes) they did help provide some protection from monsters like Teostra, or buffs with certain armor skills. Which said map effects could really make your quests more difficult.
Underwater fights were extremely underrated! The sheer scope of being underwater in large areas and or in really close quarters like the flooded forest gave added depth to leviathans also darkness and difficulty to see added an extra layer of realism, paired with the slow difficult movement depending on what weapon you used. I’d love to see a return to under water combat.
@@kam-lw4ez because it was BAD. Dodging was a pain and oxygen management was a bore. The idea originally was good but was badly made. Hopefully the new mechanics make it better.
@@kam-lw4ez couldn’t agree more. Played 1000s of hours of freedom, freedom 2 and unite. Tri is still my favourite, and I love the underwater fighting. I never even found out people didn’t like it until recently lol. Each to their own I guess
@@HaosOnline Honestly at this point underwater combat has been overdue for a return, especially with how much more fluid movement has gotten,.. The Wirebug mechanic can easily help with underwater maneuvering, and for the Oxygen it's as easy as introducing in a game's story of new guild tech that allows one to breath underwater.
@@Timmothy_plays the fanmade unreal engine monster hunter sees this in action, which does bring hope as someone who loved underwater combat, and also ceadeus
as someone who started in world and now loves this series, I want gobul. I don't care how he works, or what his weapons or armor will look like. he just looks funny, and I want him.
I want Gobul because I want those sweet sweet poison/para dual blades. That said, I only want him back if they bring back Swimming. Same with Lagiacrus
@@MegaGeewee yeah that's kinda the problem with theses boyos. I haven't played 3 yet, but I haven't really heard good things about underwater combat, so I wonder if Capcom can make this work with their current knowledge

Lagiacrus and gobul to an extent are the ones that I hope are most likely to come back soon. I feel like they could make it work in the flooded forest. Really a fan of this kind of content too, brings me down memory lane!
@@TornaitSuperBird "We can't program him in, he's too buggy!" > Has Almudron in Rise > Has Lagiacrus in pre-release for World > Has him in Generations Ultimate ????

When I first fought him, I was in awe. When I went back to defeat him, and the music hit, I was like, "Wha-? Who are these people? What are these voices? Wait, no- Who *composed* this?!!" I nearly died shortly after via water cannon... ._.
I feel like Capcom could very well improve the water combat system especially with all the new mechanics and abilities present in recent monster hunters. I personally never had much of a problem with it, but it could definitely be improved upon. It should definitely return as it adds so many more possibilities to monster Hunter in terms of map designs, monsters, items and armor, pretty much the whole game. Flooded forest and deserted island are still some of my favorite maps to date and underwater was hardly ever explored. I hope we see underwater combat return in the next game. Seemed as if Capcom almost wanted to add it in world with the cut lagiacrus and brief moments where your Hunter automatically swims and dives under water to get between areas.
Lagiacrus most definitely was planned for World but water interaction was cut down quite a bit due to development constraints, and they never added the landlocked version of him either even by the end of Iceborn... weird but hey, Capcom gonna Capcom. Hell, consider that Namielle debuted in World and Iceborn, an eldar dragon that screams to be put underwater as well.
I feel like Gigginox has actually overtaken Khezu in terms of design potential at this point. With the increased focus on mobility and verticality in gen 4 and especially 5, there seems like the opportunity for a really good Gigginox fight is only getting stronger over time, in a way that I don't think Khezu will ever really be able to match.
Gigginox has always been a more interesting and dynamic fight than Khezu. It's just a shame Khezu dominates the polls for whatever reason, especially because fighting him is almost always a chore.
@@chungusumungus4004 For me, it's mostly nostalgia. Gigi having poison or paralysis is both good and bad. Fighting against status rather than elemental damage is far different even if the monsters are nearly identical. I've noticed that some of the monsters without any real defining body parts also dont have as many weapons available to craft if any which hurts potential. Furthermore, Khezu was the first real roadblock for a lot of players in MHFU.
I honestly think it's time for underwater battles to come back. Yes, it was a nightmare on the 3DS, but now that we're on systems with much better controls it can probably be awesome now.
I loved the water combat but unfortunately I do realize it's clunky dodging is hard to.But with the switch and pc there is a chance for better underwater controls while simultaneously giving us more underwater ecology.
King Shakalaka is one of the most brutal way of a game to remind me, Don't judge the book by its cover. That guy is hard but I got a fun fight with him more than I expected. That guy and Vespoid Queen are one of the most unexpectedly fun fights i had ever in mh
I had to use a max potion against the Shakalaka lol, crazy stuff. It's because he has that attack where he swings his meat club but it doesn't knock you back, so you keep taking more and more damage.
It's true King Shaka could out dps 95% of monsters in that game. he might not have that much HP compared to say rath, but being so small you only ever hit him with 1 attack in a combo making your dps take a nose dive. He truly is one of the forgotten ones that gave MH so much charm.
I've never even heard of hypnocatrice, I really enjoy his design to be honest but as you said his fight seems lackluster. On the topic of gigginox I would love for him to come back, he has always fascinated me from a design standpoint and I love the way he looks, if they can redesign his fight I think he could fit very nicely into the modern games. It is a bit sad that some monsters are likely never to come back due to water combat, gobul looks like a cool low tier monster, ceadeus has an amazing design too, what irks me the most is probably the two lagiacrus subspecies, that being ivory and abyssal. Ivory because regular Lagi can only be on ground now nullifying his existence and abyssal as he was exclusive to water combat. Both of these Lagis I really enjoyed, mainly their colour pallet. I would love for them to bring back one of these 2 and rework them for land combat, however this is probably very unlikely. While I'm rambling I might as well talk about the big final bosses as they are a much different case than just regular returning monsters, as you said some of them require a specific arena to fight them in. It would be very hard to return them as well because typically you have the big high rank monster and the the big g rank monster, and I think the newer games are saving these slots for new endgame like monsters exclusively, and if these fights ever were to return it would be either post launch dlc like fatalis for world or another series celebration game like genu. This is really only based off of worldborne and base rise however, but I don't imagine they would add Yama Tsukami for sunbreaks final boss.
Monsters like Yama would definitely be post-game bosses yeah. Assuming Hypnocatrice would come back in later games, his fight would definitely have evolved somewhat. But now he has the problem of being a weird cross between Qurupeco and Yian Garuga, and I think most people would rather just have those two monsters. Peco is kind of forgotten but I didn't include him because both he and his subspecies were in Stories. World made the effort to bring back Fatalis and Alatreon, and I'm hoping Sunbreak takes the effort to bring back Akantor, Ukanlos, Amatsu etc.
@@HeavyWings yes, I would love for sunbreak to bring back Amatsu or Akantor. I agree that hypnocatrice would be in a weird place, and I personally can't think of many more moves to give to him that aren't already used by other bird wyverns. This is more than likely the reason he has been excluded from the recent games. Regardless I think with the right overhaul he can be a very fun bird wyvern, it would just require some creativity on capcoms part.
@@afloatcashew6828 His advantages is his sleeping breath, so they should designing moves toward that. Like for example, making his sleep ability as more of aura, and hunters need to mind the debuff, as continuous exposure to this sleeping aura causes hunter to fall asleep, maybe also giving them drowsy debuff, where the view become more and more blurry and when the sleep hits, it is strong enough that the players experience black screen (however to balance it, Hypnoc had to fly away after hunter sleep). Hunter will awake after say 30 seconds, we can use speed up so that players don't have to experience this for 30 seconds irl, but their hunting timer does lost 30 seconds. Why aura, well the name is a mix of Hypnos, the god of sleep and Cockatrice. Cockatrice technically use glare, but designing glare as fun mechanic is harder than just aura.
The reason why Hypnocatrice is forgotten is simply because how boring it is. It's Kulu Ya Ku with sleep gas and none of Kulu's 'personality'. In MHW, Kulu would constantly taking objects from the ground as shield, and would run to a nearby nest to 'heal' by cracking some eggs and eat it. Hypnocatrice barely done anything, it's movesets are a lamer version of Gypceros basically
I've been playing MH Tri recently and it was a pleasant surprise to fight gobul, who I had never even heard of so it was nice be surprised and discover his fight.
I’m really glad you mentioned Stories and Stories. I know many people don’t mention it because it’s not a typical MH game. And although underwater combat isn’t in those games, im glad you can traverse through the water. Lagiacrus and Zamtrios are really cool and I love using them
I do miss 3rd gen monsters. Specially Gobul, Gigginox and Dire Miralis. Loved the Gobul SnS (specifically the high rank version), Gigginox is what Khezu should’ve been from the start and Miralis is the only Black Dragon who hasn’t returned since its original game, I think he deserves another chance, either it returning with a new fight like the Alatreon in World or maybe a Variant like the multiple Fatalis versions.
Id love to see a monster like jhen morahn return, or a similar fight at least. Really hoping for a lagiacrus return, although its looking iffy for Rise.
Tri was my first MH game, so I am heavily biased. I would love to see the return of so many of those monsters, especially Agnaktor, who was one of my favorites. But I would also love to see a bigger, stronger Jhen/Dah'ren Moran come back. I know people generally frown on those "scripted" fights, but that was a good time, imo.
I would like to see a spiritual sequel to Generations Ultimate one day that just throws in every monster from every game with the quality of life improvements and combat capabilities of modern Monster Hunter. That would be my dream game.
i think the same aswell. a generations 2 will be fun. it will include loads of monsters from old and newer games. maybe they might make it for a aniversary.
If I remember right, Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth were originally meant for the mainline games before instead debuting in Frontier, which is why they made the trip back over.
I honestly want to see all these guys back and it's a shame they aren't back yet, Monsters like Yama, shen goren and dire miralis are good monsters to hold on to for title updates for sunbreak or future titles, Monsters like Vesipod Queen or gobil I see no reason why they can't be done well, Gigginox Is the one monster I wish I could have put in iceborne plus I think it's good to have monsters swap role from game to game to keep them fresh, like imagine if diablos and monoblos swap roles to each game As for hypocatrice and frontier monsters in general, I think seen as frontier is dead now it would be a great idea to bring them Into the main series, it's a gold mine imagine how many title updates or just roasters they could fill up from frontier, Truly the only monster I believe can't be brought back as a proper fight is ceadues as he very much needs underwater which I think could work but that's a entire other topic all together
Shen Gao Ren is probably the one I miss the most. I love his design and the Greatsword you can make from him glows red like his legs when it's charging. I always felt like even though he had less HP than Lao Shan he was a greater threat because he was more aggressive toward both the players AND the fortress. He could really tear that thing down quickly if you weren't on top of him constantly.
I would love to see a part two to this. Was super interesting seeing the monsters I'd fought against and background about them. I personally would be HYPED AF to see Ivory Lagiacrus since his fight is mainly on land and I highly doubt they'd bring underwear hunts back since so many people were not fans of them.
Gosh you mentioned so many of my favorites that I miss or have always wanted to face. Gigginox is one I desperately want back for it's creepy and awesome design though. And Dire Miralis was one of my absolute favorite boss fights ever!
I've been saying for a long while that Tri's monsters seemed much like evolutions of prior monsters. Uragaan/Agnaktor take the elements of Basarios/Gravios/Lavasioth and shuffle them around. Agnaktor has laser beams and lava swimming and full body armour. Uragaan has explosive rocks, various gases, tremors and rolling. It was so sad to see it nerfed so heavily in later entries. Gigginox was so very obviously a rework of Khezu with a different status, but way more fun and fair in the ways that mattered. The Jaggis/Baggis were clearly reworks of the Drome raptors with more of a focus on personality and hierarchy/teamwork, as well as just being less annoying. Qurupeco was a remake of Yian Kut-Ku and Gypceros, serving as the 'sensei' monster that was a step up from the raptors and taught you other mechanics. Speaking of, I did notice that you yourself seemed to have forgotten Qurupeco. Barioth, Tri Barioth especially, was clearly an expansion on the ideas of Nargacuga. It was so sad to see it get nerfed so heavily in later entries. It's mostly the leviathans and brute wyverns that are harder to classify, but you can see elements of Tigrex in Deviljho, and elements pieces of Plesioth in all of the non-elder underwater monsters. A part of me does hope that Gen 6 builds off of Rise to have more dynamic and fun underwater systems, like having a Palarq sharq that you can ride on like a palamute, and/or wirecrabs/twinefish/possibly even harpoons to yank us around akin to wirebugs. I'd say skipping out on the oxygen mechanic would be a safe bet, but perhaps something akin to mantles or petalaces could provide waterbreathing. If movement underwater were smoother, if dodging were more reliable, if they tried harder to translate movesets in a way that made muscle memory transition from land and expectations of function correlate 1:1, I could see it turning out really well. Now that land verticality has been so heavily refined, bringing back underwater combat would be the easiest way to expand the monster roster again. Imagine a Nakarkos subspecies underwater, some kind of squid/octopus thing. Imagine Shen Gaoren the giant spider crab positioning around a network of pillars underwater. Imagine Shogun Ceanataur and Daimyo Hermitaur bundling up and jumping around underwater, and a new pistol shrimp monster that causes 'scalding', essentially underwater fireblight. Imagine a more eel-like snake wyvern that is not necessarily aquatic, but amphibious. Imagine having a way to bind down underwater monsters using harpoons or whatever wire-like mechanics there are to temporarily lock them to the floor, and being able to use something akin to Zelda: Ocarina of Time's "Iron Boots" to enter into a 1:1 land combat mode. Imagine a Temnoceran that uses webbing to create a bubble of air around its breathing areas and pseudo-flippers for gliding around underwater, or can create large lilypad-like structures across the top of the water that you could fight them on, destabilize, and cause them to fall through similar to monsters falling through vines/webbing in 4U. Imagine actual Amphibian monster-type entries that operate almost exclusively on land, and in land mode on the floor underwater, but also have periods of hovering/swimming around. Players could choose between using the iron boots or sticking with underwater combat, with some bodyparts being more easily accessible to either. And, if I'm being quite frank, seeing formerly aquatic monsters like Lagiacrus or Royal Ludroth come back in pretty much land-or-muck-only capacities is super disheartening. Especially since they were always supposed to have a duality where they were more threatening underwater than they were on land. Lagiacrus in particular has to operate more and more like Ivory Lagiacrus, the more land-focused variant, more and more, as well as gaining more elder-dragon-like abilities to keep up because his land moveset from the very core was never designed to be as threatening as they need to make him.
This comment is just exceptional, man. Loved your observations on the 3rd Gen monsters in comparison to their predecessors. Also, I really loved the ideas for future MH games that you're putting out and they will definitely be worth experimenting with. Top notch!!
honestly i think lao and shen could make a return as rampage monsters. like it's the perfect mechanic to bring them back as and you can even update them with apex forms
It’s interesting that you stated Frontier wasn’t going to be apart of your list because it’s a spin off and now months later we live in a world where Espinas is in sunbreak. I would love to see an updated video like this but for frontier because I don’t know much about that game, but I always hear high praise for it.
Here's to hoping they'd add Amatsumagatsuchi to Sunbreak i mean theres already Narwa/Ibushi skeleton which is similar to Amatsu! and the Title "Sunbreak" really fits the theme since when Amatsu enters the scene the bright sky turns to gloomy or in this case, the sun breaks and turns into a terrible storm.
Hate to be that guy, but 'sunbreak' means beams of light shining through a dark sky, signaling the end of a storm. I think the boat for Amatsu has passed already...
If Hypnocatrice is to come back, I thinking about his fight being a mix of Yian Garuga and Nightshade Paolumu, where his sleeping gas lingers and certain attacks can manipulate the position of said gas.
Hypocrites, plus their game is shutdowned, most likely permanently. So they can either allow their admittedly poorly designed monsters into the mainline, or have them be forgotten and waste away.
@@palindinX not "most likely", it is dead for good. Though people have been trying to ressurect it with private servers Actually there's a couple things mainline series could learn from frontier
Ceadeus was my favorite fight/armor and ost of all time. I always found water combat to be fun and a good change of pace and the transition from land to water and back was great for immersion as well. Mh3 tri was the only game I ever reached hr 999 on. I miss it
As a MHW first timer, I haven't seen or fought most of these monsters (only recently I've decided to give a try to the older games, I began with MHFU cause it seemed one of the biggest games content-wise. I also played a bit of Portable 3rd since it's also on the PSP for which I'm using an emulator), so I can't say I feel the same way most other people watching this video do, but that being said, most of these monsters look really incredible and I'd love to see them again in 5th gen with newer graphics ^^ One monster I'd personally like to see again is Qurupeco, who I fought in Portable 3rd, and from what I've researched it has also appeared exclusively in 3rd gen, from all the monsters I fought in World (and Iceborne), Freedom Unite, Portable 3rd and Rise, it was the one who caught my attention the most, it really seemed like the living embodiment of a hunting horn haha Definitely one of the most original monsters out there! Great content as always, Heavy!
Actually, content wise, MHGU/XX is the best. It's my fav MH based on the sheer quantity of contents alone. Also you don't need to suffer FU old jankiness Edit: also if im not mistaken, with the exception of yamatsukami, hypnoc and subspecies monsters, you can fight all of FU monsters in GU. With the addition of new 3rd and 4th gen monsters too. it even has deviants to top it off
@@MrBlitzpunk The thing with GU is that on the west it got released exclusively on Switch. I don't own one, and I couldn't get a switch emulator working properly, but I might try playing 4U on Citra since I keep hearing a lot of people saying it's their favorite MH game
@@DefinitelyMada the thing is you can play MHXX with a 3DS emulator, use an english patch and boom youre good to go. Heck its even got HD texture and 60fps mod. The game technically run better than GU does on switch. Oh yeah and there's a bunch of MHXX multiplayer server. so there's that too
@@DefinitelyMada 4U to GU is like World is to Rise. 4U is the more realistic slow paced, and story focused while GU is more arcadey, fast paced action with little to no story.. So yeah both of them are good in their own way, 4U is more memorable because of the story and the whole feel of the game. But the amount of content in XX edges it out for me. 4U is not bad in that regard too, it's on par with FU with a bit more added
The number of monsters that have been left behind is large enough, and this didn't even cover the numerous alternate forms of monsters that have been left behind as well! Nice vid btw! got a good laugh out of 6:50
This video was sad to watch but also beautiful, to see someone finally cover them again, to see my favorite monsters that have never returned. Now it is totally understandable as to why they haven't, developers have to decide which monsters return and not only that, they have to design new monsters too. So it makes sense that some will be forgotten eventually down the road, biggest victims are the story main bosses that are tied to the plot of the game. They are more likely to never return, like Shagaru, Gogma, Ceadus, Shara and Velkhana, specially underwater monsters, they need underwater back to bring the same atmosphere otherwise they will be watered down. Each of these said monsters are incredibly unique and have memorable fights. I can only play the older games to revisit them but i wish that they could all, not in a single game but a number of them can make re appear each game. I can speak for majority when i say that we will certainly not miss fighting Rathalos& Rathian alongside their 10 variants and subspecies, Kushala, teostra, Kirin and Lunastra if that means we will see other favorite monsters. We definitely will not die if they didn't appear in only next two games, please MH team, bring back the good old forgotten boys from this video.
I know you said you weren’t gonna talk about monster hunter online but Shen Gaoren and Yama Tsukami both returned in that game they even made a subspecies for Shen Gaoren. And they made Yama Tsukami possible because they had a mini tower in the game for him.
I really want Yama Tsukami to comeback, and considering the fight with the frontier variant Yama Kurai, I think Capcom could easily bring Tsukami back without having to accommodate him with a special arena
Great video! I'm glad you said Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth are like advertisements for Frontier because that's the vibe I got as well lol I hope they can bring back our boy Hypno 😭 I recently fought his white subspecies in frontier and it's pretty awesome too. Hopefully one day they can bring back more frontier monsters, or maybe even make a spinoff with its own story that's not online only, that'd be awesome. One can hope I guess 😅
Shen gaoren still was one of the most imposing monsters i've ever fought. Just because he looks so unnatural being that huge, and that fucking lao shen lung skull... JEEEEZE.
Something funny just happend. So i was theorizing about the new monsters that will be added in sunbreak and my brother and i came up with a sub species for khezu called: " double headed khezu"..... yea thats how much i forgot about Gigginox and i actually played Tri alot. Great Video. xDDD
One monster that was forgotten in this video (heh) was Qurupeco. I'd really like to see that birb again, he was one of the most unique monsters in the whole series, basically being a living hunting horn. Maybe they thought the "calling a monster" gimmick should stick with the 3rd gen since Qurupeco was present in quite a few quests, but I think it's been long enough, BRING BACK MY TROPICAL SONGBIRD!
From the list, I'd love to see Yama Tsukami back because of how strange and different the monster is. It's not just a big, monsterized dragon. It's looks like with a big balloon of moss with human-like teeth and tentacles. Also maybe Dire because black dragon and Gigginox because it looks much cooler and scarier than Khezu
What me and my friends did back in the days is that you can actually heal someone that got sucked in by Yamatsukami´s K.O attack with lifepowder. You have time for that till he hits the ground.
I think it would be cool if they brought back Vespoid Queen, but not really as a quest, but more of just an event that happens when you kill too many vespoids during the breeding season. And kinda like with Bazelgeuse, she isn't in any promotional material, so its appearance would just surprise the player.
As someone who started with World, doubled back to GenU (never made it to G-Rank,), and is now enjoying Rise -- I really appreciate videos like these. I love seeing all the cool stuff the former games had. Sub'd!
You should still try 3U/4U if you have a 3DS. They hold up and feel entirely different to gen, despite how many say its the culmination of oldschool mh
My ranking for most wanted to least wanted (starting with most wanted) is: 1. Dire Miralis 2. Shen Gaoren 3. Yama Tsukami 4. Cadeus 5. Hypnocotrice 6. Giginox 7. Gobul 8. King Shakalaka 9. Vespoid Queen I tend to have a favoritism towards giant monsters, but I understand why they aren’t more common.
I'm a little surprised you didn't mention Nakarkos during the Yama Tsukami part. He had some similar mechanics, and was a much improved cephalopod monster in my opinion.
I also really like the Yamaha tsunami from monster in 2. And Shakalas are so cool man a lot of things from 3 have been taken out. Honestly though the whole certain monsters didnt come back due to similarities is a very lame reason on capcom's part because they literally have like 50 monsters that function like a rathalos and even looks similar
I really hope that the next instalments will bring the monsters you talked about here along with mosters that apeard exlusevily in the 4rth gen such as Gammoth or Najarala
For King Shakalaka, you could've mentioned the Gajalaka Chief fight in World. While not being exactly the same monster, they have incredibly similar attacks and its look is also very inspired by the King Shakala with the fire stuff on its hat and everything. It's the closest thing we got to King Shakalaka returning so far
Gajalaka's were basically the same thing. They even had a king or chieftain in the Witcher event collab. For Gigginox I'm almost certain it's because Khezu is more popular. However Malzeno seems to have a symbiosis with flying Giggi-like creatures which also suck blood like normal Giggi so it might be possible Gigginox might come back but who knows.
they brought back gore and espinas from MH FRONTIER, but even if I can't play rise I know some people want the big bois back, I genuinely want capcom to probably bring back a few big bois. Dalamadur, Jehn and Dahren Mohran, Gogmazios, White and Crimson Fatalis🌚, Lao shan lung or even Shen Gaoren if possible. Don't forget the favorites of speedrunners, Akantor and Ukanlos. Maybe Ahtal ka aswell? Who knows?👀
Side note, the Boaboa and Gajalaka are likely Shakalaka. There's an Easter egg in Iceborne where you can find a Boaboa with it's helmet off and it's... Definitely not a Felyne, to say the least.
Yes, yes, yes , yes, all of them. I'd like to think im one of the few that misses swimming from tri (but i also mained lance, so im probably biased, lol) but between Caedeus and Shen Garoen, i need my massive crab battle back, even if it was slightly on the slower side. (bring back old beardy too)
Gog and Dalamadur would both be great monsters to have return. Gog seems the most plausible out of them as Dalamadur had the skeletal aspect of it shown in the rotten vail and if/when gore makes a return I don't see why they wouldn't bring back Gog
Lagiacrus is such an underrated monster! One of my favorite fights let alone Abyssal Lagiacrus is one of the hardest monsters I've fought in any monster hunter game and the designs for the weapons & armor are top tier!

I like dire miralis
Man, I miss Ceadeus. Such a beautiful monster. Dire Miralis too. It was pretty easy by Elder Dragon standards, but it was still fun.
Ceadeus or Dire Miralis? Cause DM is a Black Dragon.
same dude goldbeard ceadus armor was ny fav
Hmm yeah.. Calling brute tigrex for backup really good
I would like yian kut ku
Yes, qurupeco calling in a deviljho that kills him instead of you lol
It made me sad that qurupeco is a toy In the hot springs but not in game
Gigginox is literally not fun to fight for me. I like his design but if he came back I'd like a total rework
@@trombonegamer14 git gud
@@elijahsanders3191 see me in FU G rank
Lamer younger bro!? That’s an overstatement
Gobul is also heavily inspired by the wonderfully named wobbegong(the body shape and barbels) and the stonefish(the toxic spikes). Personally I would like to see the queen vespoid come back but completely remade.
Imo Gobul's more inspired by monkfishes. Look them up, they're basically almost identical to gobul.
100% agree about Queen Vespoid. I fought her years ago in MHFU but i would like to see her again with a complete makeover.
I’d love to see seltas queen come back, was such a cool concept. It would’ve been so cool in world
I agree. I've never played any monster hunter games or watched their stories yet, but those two monsters seem pretty cool.
10 months later but i agree with you, i vehemently hate khezu and refuse using his weird veiny gear
Best we can do is orange cooked turducken.
Im like 90% sure the reason khezu is more popular is because he's a disgusting penis creature
I freaking hate that stupid monster! I would rather fight the Ghigginox which is a lot more fun than a walking literal pelvis head.
Ong khezus head looks like a penis, which i hate. Ghiggi looks cooler and is more fun to fight.
Would like to see hime return but nah, Fatalis needs to stay
I'd love to see him come back along with the MMO Black Dragons getting brought into the mainline games one day (Disufiroa and Merphistophelin)
They should bring water combat back anyway
Imagine water combat with a wirebug. That would be so sick in terms of movement. Water combat was mainly annoying due to the lack of being able to dodge unless u had extended because of the ridiculous end lag the dodge had. With a wirebug and the fast mobility it would be WAY better
But then again; swimming wouldn’t be an exclusive 3u thing anymore
@@axelmuller7946 no underwater fights were dumb as hsll
I too find Gigionox more entertaining to engage in combat. And as much as I hate poison, I prefer it the almost 1-hit K.O.s Khezu can cheese.
Me too I just like gigginox’s design and fighting style more than khezu’s.

Well said! I really don't know why underwater combat gets so much hate. It was always lots of fun to me

@@HaosOnline Honestly at this point underwater combat has been overdue for a return, especially with how much more fluid movement has gotten,..
Also thought and wished this small section was foreshadowing but apparently Not:/
I feel like Gigginox has actually overtaken Khezu in terms of design potential at this point.
@@chungusumungus4004 I'd bet money khezu wins because he's the defacto dick monster
@@chungusumungus4004 Maybe they just like his theme
Fighting in water using a wirebug sounds like it'd work
It was equally as clunky on the original Wii game, even with the pro controller
@@HeavyWings exactly and I didn't bring max potions and just small amount of mega potions and life powder for the fight lol.
It's true King Shaka could out dps 95% of monsters in that game. he might not have that much HP compared to say rath, but being so small you only ever hit him with 1 attack in a combo making your dps take a nose dive. He truly is one of the forgotten ones that gave MH so much charm.
i played mhf when i was in elementary school, got stuck on the queen vespoid quest till i realize i needed to kill many vespoids so it comes out lol
y'all remember the chief gajalaka in the Witcher 3 crossover sidequest in mh world it's kinda similar
Glacial Agnaktor from 3U is still one of my favorite monsters from any game and he has never shown up since that game.
God damn, Steel Uragaan is so forgotten, it wasn't even mentionned in this video.
I love how you show Espinas as an example of what probably won't happen, and yet here we are!
I would like to see a spiritual sequel to Generations Ultimate one day that just throws in every monster from every game with the quality of life improvements and combat capabilities of modern Monster Hunter. That would be my dream game.
Beautifully said, i mean it i smiled while reading your comment, i am ready to pay double the amount if developers decide to make a game like that.
I'd say a game like that is probably 8 years away.
i think the same aswell. a generations 2 will be fun. it will include loads of monsters from old and newer games. maybe they might make it for a aniversary.
That would be axtually terrible. The bigger the Game, the less it becomes Something Community based. To look for Parties would be the worst
If I remember right, Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth were originally meant for the mainline games before instead debuting in Frontier, which is why they made the trip back over.
I really REALLY hope Lagiacrus comes back eventually
I honestly want to see all these guys back and it's a shame they aren't back yet,
Monsters like Yama, shen goren and dire miralis are good monsters to hold on to for title updates for sunbreak or future titles,
Monsters like Vesipod Queen or gobil I see no reason why they can't be done well,
Gigginox Is the one monster I wish I could have put in iceborne plus I think it's good to have monsters swap role from game to game to keep them fresh, like imagine if diablos and monoblos swap roles to each game
As for hypocatrice and frontier monsters in general, I think seen as frontier is dead now it would be a great idea to bring them Into the main series, it's a gold mine imagine how many title updates or just roasters they could fill up from frontier,
Truly the only monster I believe can't be brought back as a proper fight is ceadues as he very much needs underwater which I think could work but that's a entire other topic all together
I'd love to see underwater combat return in generation 6! Technology has evolved a lot and I think it could be done way better!
I really want Lucent Nargacuga to come back because while I have 3U, he's a G rank multiplayer monster which wasn't scaled for solo back then
Man tell me about it. I had to solo the entire game!
Eh, it's not _that_ bad to solo, especially, compared to a certain G-rank Mohran or two.
@@Kickiusz I never beat the event hallowed mohran solo „regularly“, kelbi bow worked though lol
Hmmm
Honestly I really liked Gigginox, Khezu Female armor was a nurse, and giggi female armor was a Nun. I loved those designs lmao
I've always preferred Gigginox to Khezu - and of course we need to see a return of the underwater combat (and monsters involved)
just found your channel from this vid, amazing stuff! i dont see much monster hunter content on youtube, so this is cool!
I miss Congolala and Blangonga. I hope they someday make a return.
I would love to see a part two to this. Was super interesting seeing the monsters I'd fought against and background about them. I personally would be HYPED AF to see Ivory Lagiacrus since his fight is mainly on land and I highly doubt they'd bring underwear hunts back since so many people were not fans of them.
yooo amatsu came back in sunbreak
Top notch!!
Funny that you mention gore megala at the end of the video as he makes a return in rise along with shagura
honestly i think lao and shen could make a return as rampage monsters. like it's the perfect mechanic to bring them back as and you can even update them with apex forms
It’s interesting that you stated Frontier wasn’t going to be apart of your list because it’s a spin off and now months later we live in a world where Espinas is in sunbreak. I would love to see an updated video like this but for frontier because I don’t know much about that game, but I always hear high praise for it.
Here's to hoping they'd add Amatsumagatsuchi to Sunbreak
i mean theres already Narwa/Ibushi skeleton which is similar to Amatsu! and the Title "Sunbreak" really fits the theme since when Amatsu enters the scene the bright sky turns to gloomy or in this case, the sun breaks and turns into a terrible storm.
If Amatsu isn't in Rise Sunbreak at all it's the missed opportunity of the century
If they really had to they could even retcon it into "storm serpent amatsu" or something
Hate to be that guy, but 'sunbreak' means beams of light shining through a dark sky, signaling the end of a storm.
I think the boat for Amatsu has passed already...
Amatsu is (so far) not in it
He was the last monster added ! Huzzah
If Hypnocatrice is to come back, I thinking about his fight being a mix of Yian Garuga and Nightshade Paolumu, where his sleeping gas lingers and certain attacks can manipulate the position of said gas.
I really want Yama to come back. I never got to fight it since I was unable to play gen 3, not because I didn't want to, just no access.
Really good video, i was sceptic at the beginning but all is here, and details too with good explainations. Continu like this
Kinda suck that frontier wont allow their exclusive monsters to be in the main series but used a lot of main series monsters in their game
Hypocrites, plus their game is shutdowned, most likely permanently. So they can either allow their admittedly poorly designed monsters into the mainline, or have them be forgotten and waste away.
@@palindinX not "most likely", it is dead for good. Though people have been trying to ressurect it with private servers
Actually there's a couple things mainline series could learn from frontier
I love your comedic moments in between the history lesson, please keep that going in your videos
The bogul problem could be solved by making a sand or mud variant
Nibelsnarf pretty much is a sand variation.
I also played a bit of Portable 3rd since it's also on the PSP for which I'm using an emulator), so I can't say I feel the same way most other people watching this video do, but that being said, most of these monsters look really incredible and I'd love to see them again in 5th gen with newer graphics ^^
One monster I'd personally like to see again is Qurupeco, who I fought in Portable 3rd, and from what I've researched it has also appeared exclusively in 3rd gen, from all the monsters I fought in World (and Iceborne), Freedom Unite, Portable 3rd and Rise, it was the one who caught my attention the most, it really seemed like the living embodiment of a hunting horn haha
Definitely one of the most original monsters out there!
Great content as always, Heavy!
Actually, content wise, MHGU/XX is the best. It's my fav MH based on the sheer quantity of contents alone. Also you don't need to suffer FU old jankiness
Edit: also if im not mistaken, with the exception of yamatsukami, hypnoc and subspecies monsters, you can fight all of FU monsters in GU.
@@MrBlitzpunk Damn I didn't know that, that's amazing 👀I'll look that up. Thanks!
The number of monsters that have been left behind is large enough, and this didn't even cover the numerous alternate forms of monsters that have been left behind as well!
Nice vid btw! got a good laugh out of 6:50
Having a dog, palico, and a shakalaka would be so much fun. It would feel like having a hunting party for single players
And with the new wirebug system we have so much more vertical manoeuvrability that I can see the fight being much more fun than it originally was
Great video!
I'm glad you said Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth are like advertisements for Frontier because that's the vibe I got as well lol
I hope they can bring back our boy Hypno 😭 I recently fought his white subspecies in frontier and it's pretty awesome too. Hopefully one day they can bring back more frontier monsters, or maybe even make a spinoff with its own story that's not online only, that'd be awesome. One can hope I guess 😅
Khezu is not nearly as cool as gigginox
but at least his theme is cool
"Gigginox is too similar to Khezu."
Makes 20 new dragons back to back.
Have not watched yet but I can tell this is going to be a painful video to watch
Edit: yep, right in the feels
Underwater combat fans suffering hard, to put it simply.
@@HeavyWings bro I need to hear Ceadeus theme once more, its the only thing I ask
@@Carlisho There's an alternate universe out there where people are hearing Ceadeus's theme with Rise vocals
@@HeavyWings 😭
I really love this concept! I suggest Qurupeco or Jhen/Dah'ren Mohran if you make another part :)
I don't know, Rule 34 seems to like Gigginox. Giggity.
But Rule 34 loves Khezu too.
Shen gaoren still was one of the most imposing monsters i've ever fought. Just because he looks so unnatural being that huge, and that fucking lao shen lung skull... JEEEEZE.
them not bringing back lagiacrus is criminal so much potential for subspecies in world and rise
I think underwater combat should 100% return in the next monster hunter entry.
If they remade the arena for Lao anyway, it’s strange they didn’t bring Shen back too. The hard part was already done right.
My ranking for most wanted to least wanted (starting with most wanted) is:
1. Dire Miralis
2. Shen Gaoren
3. Yama Tsukami
4. Cadeus
5. Hypnocotrice
6. Giginox
7. Gobul
8. King Shakalaka
9. Vespoid Queen
I tend to have a favoritism towards giant monsters, but I understand why they aren’t more common.
Putting Shen Gaorens Corpse into the Jurrasic Frontier feels Like they were trying to send a Message
We had a sort of redux of the Shakalaka King in World, in the Gajalaka Chieftain from the Witcher quest.
Welp, Yama Tsukami is disturbing. Didn’t know that one existed.
Funfact: in the early trailer of Monster Hunter World there was shown the Lagiacrus^^
I really hope that the next instalments will bring the monsters you talked about here along with mosters that apeard exlusevily in the 4rth gen such as Gammoth or Najarala
i am missing so many monsters from this list... especially cadeus. he was so cool and the designs for his weapons and armors were so beautiful
I would like the see Dire Miralis to make a return
Just starting but gigginox was my fav and i just want too see him again
"Shen Gaoren is a giant enemy crab int-"
SO HERE'S THIS GIANT ENEMY CRAB
they brought back gore and espinas from MH FRONTIER, but even if I can't play rise I know some people want the big bois back, I genuinely want capcom to probably bring back a few big bois.
Gog seems the most plausible out of them as Dalamadur had the skeletal aspect of it shown in the rotten vail and if/when gore makes a return I don't see why they wouldn't bring back Gog
you forgot big boy jhen, would love him to come back as its one of the few times they did a giant siege monster fight right
I don't think Jhen is forgotten since we had another Moh'ran in MH4U
Lagiacrus is such an underrated monster! One of my favorite fights let alone Abyssal Lagiacrus is one of the hardest monsters I've fought in any monster hunter game and the designs for the weapons & armor are top tier!
I absolutely hope Yama Tsukami returns, it's such a weird and out-there design compared to most monsters.
Hey this is sunbreak talking a frontier monster came back :3
God I remember almost all of these monsters! I miss Ceadeus honestly what an amazing final phase theme it had, Good video!
