Hi Gary, this content is so great, it really allows you to understand the camera and the mechanism quite well. Would love to see some videos like this on Olympus om1 and om2 if you ever get one in for service, as most video content on them are only quick fixes (ie resetting idler gear and prism stuff, not a proper CLA), and the device manuals are quite intimidating. Thank you for the videos!
Thank you. Next time I have an Olympus for repair, I'll try to post it. We do have a couple of current videos on Olympus. See the links below: ruclips.net/video/YhLO2EUXVlI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/D_ncXx3s4pc/видео.html
I got an X-370 last week and it had another evident capacitor issue - meter lights up but won't fire. Then it just worked fine after a few minutes of playing with it. That's the second time a camera fixed itself after doing almost nothing.
Got a x300 = x370 here in Germany. The capacitor has already Ben changed. The lightmether came back to life but the camera does not shutter Suggestions?
Weird issue I’m having with my film counter. The number wheel plastic catch isn’t broken and it resets when opening the door. It just struggles to go past 4 counts.
@@PlastiForge It’s certainly unusual. There is a possibility that gears on the counter are worn out and it won’t go past the certain number. I’ve seen it a couple of times before.
@@East_TN_Explorer Try cleaning battery contacts first and install fresh batteries. If you still don’t see any LED activity in the viewfinder, it might be more involved. We can take a look at it for you.
@@christophermejia7281 Hello, you might be referring to the focusing screen. There is a metal lock that supposed to hold the screen in place. If it keeps falling off, either the lock is not properly positioned or the plastic notch on the screen wore out.
Incredibly well made video, really detailed and loving how you're getting these vintage cameras back in action.
Thank you very much!
New to your channel, but I am very impressed with your skill set and quality of the video. I am now subscribed!
Thanks and welcome

Awesome! I learned that I can clean the prism on my x-700 without really taking anything apart. Thank you.
Great video, thanks for putting this together!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just bought a Minolta x370. Put batteries in it and doesn't seem to work, no lights or anything. Lever doesn't turn all the way. Suggestions?

Also, contacts seem very clean. Batteries were bought new, today.
@@GarrysCameraRepair Btw, update. There is a "curtain" or bar that slides along the fabric. That was stuck. Once freed, the camera works flawlessly.
@ Great. Enjoy your camera.
Hi Garry, what are you using to clean the camera body, mirror and prism?
@@jaysdreamquest I use a mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.
@GarrysCameraRepair Thanks so much!
Greetings Garry. My prism keeps falling out from this camera. Any advice on how to secure it better? Thanks!

Hello, what oil and lubricant do you use?
@@zaine_malantos Hello, I use Nyoil for most metal components and plastic-grade grease for some other lubrications.
