The door chimes for the H4, H5, H6 and SRT cars would later be used by Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway for their 9000 series trains, which operate on line 1 of the Osaka subway.
YES! A video dedicated to the TTC door chimes! growing up near the Toronto area then moving to the Philadelphia/NYC area, this is one thing no other subway has, a melody of a chime like the TTC! Its the 3 notes (flat or sharp pitches) that describes the personality of this awesome subway!

Memories growing up in Toronto from 2001-2006. The horns ringing three times is so much more safe than here in NYC dirty and unsafe subway
Always wondered as a kid why the chimes were played in two different keys (H4 vs. T1), and why the lower-sounding one (H4) eventually disappeared. Still miss the chime of the H4s: I liked how the notes blended into each other.
I wondered too.
brings back memory on the Hawker Siddeley trains. I also like the door chimes on H4-H6.

On Line 3 (Scarborough Rapid transit) they are still using the same trains but they updated them a little they even changed the way the chimes sound to make them sound more like the Rocket and T1 chimes they still sound good but I like how they sounded before better
Love the LED on the new subway trains, the chime is more loud and clear it compares to the H4 and the RT trains
You should hear how bad the glitch is, sometimes, the train would be half way to the next stop and the closing chime and the lady's voice keeps repeating "Please Stand Clear of the DUH... Please Stand Clear of the DUH... Stand Clear of the DUH.... Plea.... Stand Clear of the DUH" It's pretty embarrassing.

I didn't ride the subway much before the H5 were gone. Assuming they had the smaller 'white' doors, I only rode on it once.
I think I still see the occasional H6 making rounds off Bloor-Danford, but I almost ride regularly on the Yonge-Union line, so I only see TR & T1 :(
You gotta love that the doors already close just 5 seconds after they've been opened lol

so weird hearing this in 2022. Im used to seeing the vaughan extension map instead of just downsview (sheppard west). Also seeing t1s on line 1 is very weird because im used to only seeing tr's. Plus seeing all the people pre covid, and the voice saying "please stand clear of doors" instead of "please stand clear of the doors"

Miss the H5, H4, H6 Door chimes and the vehicles they were so good
Those were very old and detuned (except the TRs when they just came out). Today, they are cleaner sounding.

Big Bird and Snuffy would let us on these things.

When the rocket trains first came out the chime sounds were coming from the train’s PA system but then they realized that you couldn’t hear the chimes very well from outside the train so now the rocket trains have a little speaker above each door on the outside of the train that produces the chime sounds but lately (and I don’t know why they are doing this) for the door open chime only (not for the door closing chime) they have been playing the door open chime through the trains PA system AND the speakers on the outside of the train but for the door closing chime it only comes out f the speakers on the outside of the train they used to sometimes play both the opening chime AND the closing chime through both the PA system and the speakers on the outside of the train but nowadays lately it only the door open chime that’s played through both the train’s PA system and the speakers on the outside of the train but there was a brief time where none of the chimes were played through the train’s PA system only through the speakers on the outside of the train but I guess for the people inside the train so they know when the doors are opening they started to play just the doors open chime through both the PA system and the speakers on the outside of the train when I first heard the chimes being played through the PA system and the outside speakers I thought it was a glitch especially when it happened for the door closing chime but it seems to be the norm nowadays but only for the door opening chime

Nothing, it was just a demonstration on how that emergency lever opens the door because this was an open house of the train, it wasnt in service at the time
