Let's do some math. 20 cross cuts on a tree x 1.2 seconds. 24 seconds. You'd get some 30 seconds sooner by upgrading from the 346xp to the 550xp. A cord of wood? A few minutes. A slightly dull chain would be about the same difference. It's a 50cc bracket race. The thing is, both saws kept their chain speeds maxed out. You could only cut significantly faster with more downward pressure applied to the bar (tiring) or with larger 3/8 chain, both of which may slow the chain speed. But hey, none of the above matters one bit if you just want a new saw, maybe a sexy 550xp with autotune. -Thanks for the video! I just got a 353 to rebuild, and was curious how it will compare to a 550xp with a 45mm XP cylinder. Close enough! And no computer, easy & cheap to repair. Can't buy new 351, 353 top covers anymore though.
