What's the difference between mass number and atomic mass? Mass number is the number of protons and neutrons in an atom, and it tells us about the mass of the atom in amu, or atomic mass units. Atomic mass is the average mass of all the isotopes of a certain type. It is a weighted average that takes into account the abundances of all of the different isotopes.
Good question! You can look it up in a textbook or on the web, or (usually) it will be given to you in a problem. But the point is, there's no way you can know what the abundance percentages are just off the top of your head, so don't worry if you didn't know where they'd come from.
Please my dear teacher where I connect to you please answer me

Tyler, thank you so much for these videos, even though you did many of them years ago. They are still relevant and useful! I have watched many of your videos to help me understand basic chemistry for my A&P class. Sometimes the textbook just doesn't help me understand things but your videos do. Thanks again!
Jesus this man is legend of chemistry....... ❤ U
This video cleared up any misconceptions and had so much background! Well taught! Thanks
Tyler, are you a teacher? Thanks for the videos! I think you're a great resource understanding concepts for my class. You're great at explaining this content.

They won't be this good
Best teacher ever... so much clarity....I wish I had you as my chemistry teacher when I was in high school...
Amazing way of teachingb! Thank you so much, I benefit so much from your great videos. Can u make a video about the " Energy Levels in Atoms, The Quantum Mechanical Model, Atomic Orbitals, and The Electron Configurations " ?
These videos are so helpful! I really like the use of visuals and examples, highly effective teaching styles!
Brilliant explanation. Helped me a lot. Thank you
Our professor suggested your videos to understand our lessons better, and although I am good at chemistry this video really helped me. I know it is quite old but still... thank you!

you are so gifted...thanx so so much, you make chemistry sounds like a kids' story book. I' ll pay for your lessons anytime. Awesome teacher... kudos to ya.
Hey do yo have another video explaining differences between Relative Atomic And Molecular Masses? Thx
You are amazing... And you made it so simple to understand. Hats off to you
wish i could have you as a school or tuition teacher :)
you are amazing!
I aspire this way of teaching, you don’t just randomly throw the equation, but you actually explain it.
Wow... Now after so many years of schooling I understood it here clearly.
Wonderful explaination.... U nailed it....
Thank you for the video :)When we deal with calculations in chemistry that contain Boron, we take its relative atomic mass as 10.8g. Well if it is 10.8amu, it means 10.8(1.67810^-24gram) which is very very less that what is written on the periodic table.can u explain this please??
How do you know the percentages of the two isotopes? I'm a bit confused.
This helped so much. Thank you!
8 years ago you teach this. And today I saw that. Its amazing
Thank you for explaining that so well!
I am a teacher and is able to judge.
You are a very good teacher and also hard working to explain with those charts
this was a good reminder!
Thanks it was of great help. Can u make video on energy levels of an atom pls and thanks once again

Nice job of explaining!
I took chemistry about two years ago but my biology course has a bit of chemistry in it, this is a good refresher
Thankyou very much! I passed my chemistry exam with 21/25 and its because of you . But i also have some doubt in atomic mass can you explain me how to find it
Great video. absolutely clear explanations. You helped me to uncover errors in the practice exam. Exam I completed with a tutor.
