Imo Mercurials were pretty comfortable, and to be fair they did have a noticeable weight difference compared to other booths which I liked. But holy shit they were tight... which I like but others might not. Usually leather boots are more comfortable, like the old tiempo's or the copa mundials.
I bought the phantom GT dynamic fit(with the sock) and I wouldn't say they're that wide. I don't have very wide feet but they feel a bit narrower than I imagined they'd be and I also had to go half a size smaller than my usual boot size. They are amazing boots though, they give a very snug feel and the lockdown is pretty good but the biggest thing I saw was how well they are when striking the ball, I love it!
I got the Phantom GT2 Pro AG-Pro. I play exclusively on AG 2-3 times a week. I'm a EU 42.5 (UK 8) but i went up to EU 43 (UK 8.5) and i have normal foot shape. Previously i've always played in Mercurial EU 42.5 My Phantoms are an absolute dream to play in. Less injuries, less soreness and overall i think a better boot.
I have a wider foot and i always wanted a pair of the phantom. i wear a 6 US and I find it tighter because of my wide feet. Would you reccomend to stay with the same size with the phantom or go a half size down? For the speedflow .1 I wear a 5.5 and they fit so good.

I wear cushioned socks (eg. normal sports/grip socks that are not sold as "thin") and the fit is snug without rubbing or any discomfort. I'm gonna go with the 5.5 because I find it's my true foot size. But I wear the regular nike/adidas socks as well. I will let you know how they go, but considering the phantom 1 over the 2 because they are cheaper

I like the form and fit of the Phantom, but the latest colorways of the Phantom white/blue, including the red/white and black/blue are so ugly somehow. The mercurials always look better. It's like Nike tries to manipulate the customers to buy the Mercurials
Hypervenom fan here who changed to Mizuno Morelia Neo III Beta MIJ (and also using Adidas boots sometimes). Mercurials are too narrow for me. Phantom feels very strange on my feet. It feels there are empty spaces inside the boot while taking steps and upper is too sticky. Touch to the ball is horrible because of too sticky upper and it feels like you have a little bit of glue on top of your boots making dribbling very uncomfortable. Am I the only one feeling this "too sticky to dribble"-element? I don't have a boot for me from Nike atm. I always played with Adidas when I was kid but they fucked it up at some point but making a huge comeback now with new Speedflow-line. But this Mizuno boot mentioned above is best boot I've seen during these 20 years of playing. Very solid package and nice combination of lightweight speed boot and premium leather boot.
I've changed from mercurial to phantom and to be fair the phantom feels like i have more control over to ball but it's a little bit hard to acomodate with them for long balls or crosses
@@sebastianotrevisani1042 no as mentioned in the video, the phantoms tend to have more space in the boot, it’s recommended to go half a size down to accommodate that wider fit design.
I have both outside the box vapour felt so good gt took me a couple of sessions to break in but both so nice to wear if you get gt go half a size down that’s what I did feel so good
if you have wide flat feet don't get the phantom GT. it gets really tight on the mid-heel. I have it and it's still haven't got worn down after 5 wears, even the mercurials are easier to my feet than the GTs, but that's just my experience
I have wide flat feet and I have the phantom gt. it’s all down to the lacing. Watch videos and learn the techniques behind proper lacing. I’ve worn them twice and after 20 minutes of lacing adjustments they felt amazingly comfortable to the point I didn’t even know I was wearing boots
What KAVO GAMING said. Volume-wise there IS more room in the GT, so it's all about how you lace it to allow the boot/upper to have enough wiggle room to 'open' up enough for your foot to fit in there. /Jay
True. The phantoms just feel softer on foot when broken into, the mercurials/superfly feels stiff at times. However both are good, depending on your play style. Yet even something like the adidas predators can be a viable option for people

Sometimes in a match, when the ball is passed to me in a very hard way, it touches an unusual part of my foot and I lose control of it. What should I do to help my control of the ball in a situation lie this.
Train to shoot to a wall and just stand there controlling it with one touch and then passing it back. If you do that many times a day, you will get better. I did it and it worked for me. With a good touch you also feel a bit more confident
Practice your ball control with a wall. If you usually have good ball control then you’re probably taking your eyes off the ball when coming to u under pressure which may come from lack of confidence or anxiety.
Football boots are a bane for my feet. I’ve tried everything from the Adidas f50 to Nike Hypervenoms to Puma Ultras and all of them caused callouses and shoebites on my foot. The Phantom has been a saviour in that regard, personally the most comfortable boots I’ve worn alongside the OG nitrocharge
Not a massive fan of the phantoms at all. Had a pair of Vapor 13’s before and they were one of the best sets of boots I’ve owned. Went for a pair of the phantoms and they are just too wide in that mid foot area whilst being really narrow in the toe. Just got a pair of 14’s today so looking forward to trying them out
In my experience, my first elite boots was Vapor 14 elite. Before that I used Nike Tiempo Legend 8 Academy with size 27.5cm. When I go to nike store, I was shocked because the Vapor 14 just fit me on 26.5cm. It is so good when using Vapor but blisters come and go when I play more than 2 hours
Same … for some reason my perfect fit for Tiempo 9 are 0.5 cm bigger then my normal 26 cm foot . so instead of 26 i go 26.5 … otherwise i can’t feel my toe after a game !
I don't know why Nike actually hate people with wide feet like me. Recently I bought a pair of Phantom GT Pro Elite AG in my usual size UK 12/EU 47,5 after watching your review. Unfortunately, they don't fit me and are extremely tight and narrow. As Nike don't commercialize sizes over UK 47,5 I can't go up a size 😥
I’m a cam/cm and I have the phantom elites and I can confidently say that they are way better than the mercurials in my opinion as I have had both elite versions of the boots. I recommend getting the soft ground traction on both boots as well. It gives more grip and it feels the same weight if you got the ag traction. Hope this helps 👍
