Aside from the Mercurial and Tiempo lines, everything else has been somewhat experimental from Nike over the last few years. Magista turned into Phantom Vision, while the Hypervenom line transitioned into Phantom Venom. Well, forget all of that because we now have the Phantom GT, a football boot that combines elements from both the Venom and the Vision, to create what Nike is touting as one of their most high-tech football boots ever! But is that really the case?

@@amjadmohammed6085 I personally also am a wide footed person. I’ve worn these phantom GT’s with the normal size and I didn’t have much of an issue. It was a bit large but again, not too big of an issue. If you like your shoes tighter I’d go half size down, if you like your shoes looser go true to size.

Gotta say, I love these cleats! I bought the elites in a custom color. Costs about $20 more but exactly what I wanted and they were made in Italy. Gotta say, had the kang leather Hypervenoms which were awesome, but these match if not exceed those! These cleats are wide which is why I got them but a great cleat with TONS of traction with the new stud pattern! Overall A+

these are worth it. I have really wide feet and I still had to go half a size down. I really enjoy this boot and I would recommend it for a wide footed player. also they run a bit big

1st day playing with phantom GT academy turf and were very confortable and no break in time needed. Felt good on the touch and no blisters.

While they aren't perfect, there's nothing that is objectively "bad" about them. The perceived negativity is focused more so around the fact that these are very simple boots that are being marketed/presented as "ground breaking". If you present the boots without all of the fancy technical talk, these are just a combination of various elements that we've seen and still see in current Nike boots.

I bought these boots a half size 1/2 above my normal shoe size which is 8 UK. But when I play and wear them they hurt my heel and I get a blister. Any suggestions to help fix?

If you have wider feet I actually do recommend trying the new Mercurials. They suck at first because they are fairly tight BUT they do get much, much wider over time if you break them in.

i’m disappointed because it’s more towards the phantom vision side than a venom. they focused more on control and grip which is not really a venom

I'm looking for durable, preferably leather, boots with good comfort and responsiveness + lockdown. I liked the Legend 7 and Phantom Venom, but the Phantom Venom was not really durable for me. Currently, I have the Puma One 5.1, but for me, they are too loose around the ankle.
What boot would you recommend?
Could you review the Phantom GT Academy 'flyease' AKA Nike first ever laceless boot.
Even though J-Phan says he prefers the GT to the Vision, the review made it sound like they were significantly inferior for people like me who don’t have wide feet.
That would be accurate to a certain extent.
How is the fit and feel of these compared to the hypervenom phantom 3? That boot fit me perfectly. But I love a thin, tight feel of a mercurial. But the mercurial is slimmer and I have good and bad days with how they feel on my medium to wide feet haha.

Hey James, what do you think of one-piece uppers in general? Cause i think it's a huge step in the wrong direction as it doesn't bring any advantages apart from looking cool. It really limits the level of how much you can adjust a boot to your foot and you can even see it on pros that are wearing their shoes with creases because of the lack of adjustment ... i always buy older pairs now that still have a real tongue
Habibi Blocksberg It works on some boots, but on others it’s really bad.
When you make the upper one piece, it requires the shape of the upper to match your exact foot shape more closely in order to get the right fit. So in that regard, it's easier to get wrong. With that said, with knits and elasticated materials in place of a tongue, it gives the boot an ability to adjust to the shape of your foot, even before tying the laces. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a regular detached tongue, but as long as it's executed properly and the design actually makes sense, I don't have any major issues with one piece uppers, at least in regards to fit.

I'm shocked you don't like these, you've always been against doing extra tech for no reason, then nike release a boot without silly layers and lace covers and you don't like them because "its all things we've seen before on other nike boots". I'm a leather boot man myself, but I thought these may be worth a look in as they seem to be just a simple thin upper with decent width
I never said I didn't like them. I actually concluded that I preferred them to both the Vision and Venom that they replace. Just because I pointed out that a lot of Nike's "all new" marketing spin isn't totally accurate does not mean I hate the boots.
