Have you seen thunder tea 🍵 rice before? The craze started in the mid 90s if I recall.. good dish if you like gnawing on cereals and granola.. chew chew chew..
I went there to eat today. It feels strange to be 'back'. I used to study at Temasek Poly across the street and I was always eating at the old hawker at Margaret Drive. Feels very full circle for me.
I love the old structure back in the days.. it used to have movable tables and chairs at the hawker. Queensway bowling 🎳 was just next door.. wish someone like you had captured it before it was torn down in early 2000s
Yummy 😋 food tour.I loved healthy food, the best choice for me is Hakka thunder tea rice with the Yong Tau Foo.TQ,PP,for a delightful palatable food journey!!!👍🙏
Im so jealous of that block that has a direct bridge link to the hawker centre! Thank you for showing us around. I miss the old margaret drive food centre, it was one of the place i go paktor and makan 20plus years ago
Kinda amazing huh.. condos have roof garden leading to pool.. New HDB have it too.. straight leading to hawker centre 😂 I went old portsdowm to paktor back then.. still super ulu ulu
Wah.. only old folks like got porridge 🥣😂 Nah.. I saw a lot of youngsters having it too. I hated it as a kid coz it was always difficult for me to eat. Now I love it..
I love to visit Singapore, and the food at hawker centers is impressive; however, the weather is too humid and hot for me. Probably around 9 am, I could soak with sweat after a short walk from the subway station. For the air-conditioned food court, the food is not memorable. Maybe, I'll eat at the open 24-hour food stalls. Great video! !!!
Yeah.. tell me about it.. I kinda have the same issue too.. sometimes dripping profusely after a bowl of noodles. But it's common here.. welcome to the equator 😂 best would be having a cheaoer hotel nearby and basked in the ac immediately after.. or bring back to hotel. We call it Dapao.. lllike dapaolo..
the prawn noodle and drinks stall's variety of beverages looks v tasty. would definitely go and try out someday. the variety in the drinks stall looks amazing, its like mixture of regular drink stall + soybean/grass jelly drink stall + dessert stall. everything in the drink stall looks very organised. the grass jelly and soya bean drinks gave a very nolstagic drinks stall feel, but the menu gave a very trendy drink stall feel too. strawberry w/pearl and peach juice looks delicious. simply amazed by how organised with the stall in preparation of the drinks. variety of food choices looks great especially for those living nearby as foods looks very delicious.
I love all your selection of food courts in Singapore. Seemed that you are an Indonesian who spends your retirement years in Singapore. Please visit some durian establishments in Singapore to give an idea which one is the best.
Hahaha.. yes. Retired and goin around for food. Not Indonesian tho.. close.. as for durians.. Singapore establishments aren't consistent or are too premium in price for my liking..
Ummm.. 🤔 not sure.. But you can try bring your own organic vegetables 🥕 to try asking them to use it 😀 But not for the thunder tea rice.. coz tooooo many diff kinds of veg
There is also a cold and hot dessert stall at the second level, at one corner of the back row. 順兴清甜五味汤, manned by an old couple. Very nice. Very cheap.
@@Piggypuggy, hey, please don't feel bad. There are just too many good stuff one must try in our food centres. Am just happy that you are doing this. :)
Lucky the thunder tea 🍵 Blanjah me.. coz I’m not one who can queue so long 😅. Prawn noodles. Porridge and Nasi lemak has their relatively load of customers in line
As organic dishes are tasteless and no much sweetness. Should use approved industrial food chemical to enhance the flavor of organic dishes. The end product still go one place.
Piggy mate, One of the issues about hawker centres that vexes me is the divide between halal and other food crockery returns. How do you know the crockery has been exposed to/ polluted by which ever kind of food? No problem if they have a big sign saying 'halal' over the stall you bought the food from, but not all places do. Sure, I know if the stall is selling pork or beer its not halal but I often can't determine the full menu and just because the server wears a hijab doesn't mean the food is halal. Hey, I could even go with a system of green plates equals halal and every other colour equals 'non halal' but that doesn't seem to be the way things work. Is there a sure fire way of knowing which plate goes in which return pile? Oh, and I like the new technology where I don't have to turn on 'cc' for your commentary. Mind you, a bigger, clearer font would be good. And what happened to the map zoom in? I always had to repeat it later myself for my own education, but still, it gave one a general idea.
Hahaha.. I face the same issue too.. but as a general rule of thumb.. I’ll return the plates from Malay food stalls to the halal section. The rest.. even if it’s vegetarian belongs to the non halal. Haha.. I’m still weighing between to cc or not to cc.. coz many of my viewers belong to the “serious” older folks who can’t take a laugh.. I’ll be headed to Thailand 🇹🇭 to chill for a bit mate 🍻 and hopefully find some interesting grub along the way 😋
Very disappointed went on a Monday surprised to see many stalls closed. They should put up a notice on their stall which day their stall is closed. Nothing special n price not cheap
A disappointed new hc. Lack of varieties n taste for most Chinese foods. There's no proper n nice chap chap rice. Making e elderly v inconvenient to hv a proper meal around there n most of e stalls were closed n open as they like.

Hi, there is the famous vegetarian stall at the corner. Opens very early and always long queue. :)
Think it could be beside the prawn noodles right at the corner.. but the day I went.. it didn’t seem open or sold out by 1030 😄
