Hi Oscar, it's quite a complex subject; usually the answer is yes for the rest of your life, though there are cases when that's not true :)

How is tobacco mosaic virus spread?
Its spreaded by contaminated leaves rubbing against a healthy plant or contaminated worker hands (farmers or plant growers in general) but It can't be spreader by bugs unlike other plant diseases
direct contact- infected leaves touching non infected and through contaminated tools or farmers hands
it's help to learn new things
