    10:58 TL;DR
    As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and about well aging, I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

      Vitamin C and SPF should be used in the morning, hydroquinone, retinoid or AHA in the evening, and the rest (niacinamide, licorice, alpha arbutin, tranexamic acid or kojic acid) can be used any time of the day

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  10 месяцев назад +2

      I mostly agree with @anastasiazazulina6111 answer with the exception that I think AHA can be used in the mornings as well, depending on when it best fits your routine.

    I had to decrease my tretinoin routine after a very flaky six months starting in the winter. My hyperpigmentation dramatically increased in that period, but decreased just as dramatically when I was able to return to a nightly tretinoin routine.

    Hello doctor! Around my mouth and eyes are darker than the rest of the face. I feel very insecure about it. Can you suggest me something for it?

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  8 месяцев назад

      It is pretty normal that the skin around the eyes is darker, and it isn't easy to treat as it is mainly genetic. Vitamin and Retinol containing eye creams are a good start.

    When age is the factor for hyperpigmentation is it still caused by past sun ☀ exposure ? Or is caused by free radicals in the body and just a natural aging process Thanks Doctor Anne 🙌😉🙋‍♂️

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  10 месяцев назад +2

      It is usually from past sun exposure that added up over the years until it became noticeable. Free radicals are art of the reaction in the skin after UV exposure. And i is part of the aging process, but you don't necessarily get it when you age - that depends on your lifestyle and genetic factors. Jut like some people get more wrinkle and others more sagging.
