Totally agree. Awesome game. I was absolutely addicted to this game until I beat it for the first time. And even after beating it, it holds up.

Badgers From Mars is now the publisher. TGG games used to have a publishing agreement for US (and maybe Canada) but that has lapsed.

Just discovered this game in a tic TOC video and am loving! Great review as usual! Been playing on a normal deck of cards and on the app but I'm excited to pick up the official deck as well. That artwork is so cool

100% agree with your take on this. It’s amazing how much tense, interesting gameplay the designers manage to wring out of a standard 52 deck. This is one of my go-to solo games.

Played 3 player at game night and it was really fun, great filler and agree so cool how simple it is! Great travel game and solo lunchtime game! Good stuff!

Love this game. Been playing with it since Jason did his review I think last year.

As someone who has only ever played it online I'm curious as to how enemy attack and health points are kept accounted for each enemy. As for example the later enemies very often require multiple rounds to play and forgetting would be quite easy.

it's actually quite simple and intuitive. the cards you play aren't discarded until the current royal is defeated. the consequence is they can't be refreshed with hearts, but it means the current damage and block can be calculated by simply adding the cards on the table together. for clarity, especially if you're playing co-op, keep the spades and combo attacks separated.
I've heard some like to use D20s for tracking numbers mid-game. If you have any spindowns lying around I'd recommend them.
there's also the companion app if you'd like to be absolutely certain of the rules during play. it'll track the game state for you perfectly. personally, i found it too distracting while playing solo, though i wouldn't write it off for group-play since you can operate the app during your teammates' turns. And the optional official Regicide™ music can add to the atmosphere if you'd like that.
But like I said, the beauty of Regicide is that all you need to play are standard playing cards, with damage tracking being baked in to the design.

You could use a bunch of d6s in two different colours or some spindown d20s.

I actually think this one is just as good with multiple people as it is solo. All are great
