@@user-oc6cf6he1j yes it’s always a good practice to do so. I did checked mine after running it for a while. 4M40 engine 2.8TD the cold valve clearances are .2mm (.008") inlet and .3mm (.012") exhaust according to the Mitsubishi service manual.
@@barnbuilds25 I haven`t found anything about oiling bolts in the service manual -11A13-4. Maybe you can tell us where you found it. Also about good practice - which is not btw, when you oiling bolts or studs of any kind (especially those that needs specific torque) you are literally changing the torque value applied by the torque wrench. These are the basics of the mechanics.
@@medandi as you saw, I hardly put any oil on just a dap right. I’ll try find the section in the manual where it states to lube the head bolts and then send it through 💪🏻 Look at ARP studs/bolts, which all require the supplied lube to be put on before threading them in. I can almost guarantee you that most head bolts/studs require oil/grease to be applied according to the specifications. Yes it does change contact surface area, which is also why it states, can’t remember the exact torque specs but ; “ torque to 60 then to 80 and then 90 degrees “. I just followed the workshop manual, and I’ve done about 40k km towing, 4x4ing long trips etc and no problems.
Section 11A-13-5 Sub section B ( cylinder head assembly instructions) 5(b) apply a thin coat of engine oil evenly to each part of the threaded cylinder head bolts. Tighten them to 100nm. ( I went up in increments from 60 to ensure an even torque coverage ) (C) loosen tightened head bolts in the same sequence, ( this is because the head bolts (oem) are stretch bolts ) then retighten them to 50nm in the same sequence. (D) tighten them another 1/4 or 90 degrees (E) another 1/4 or 90 degrees

Dude absolutely fire🔥 🤣🤦yes also no spare bolts is a win
Faaacts 😂😂
You are giggling more than explaining. Main question was wats the torque wrench setting

Thanks man I really appreciate it 🔥🔥
My man thats a great video, my I ask what's the torque setting of the head bolt or whats the torque for tightening the cylinder head bolts?

Hey mate, did you release the tension off the chain tensioner, or just left it all as it was?
You release the tension by pulling the pin on the hydraulic tensioner 💪🏻
Hi, why are you oiling head studs?
It’s part of the workshop manual instructions 💪🏻 it’s also a good practice 👍🏻

hi there man, replacing the rocket cover gasket and wanted to ask if you knew the torque on those 2 bolts? Cant seem to find that number. Cheers!
Hi Man, I shall tell you when I get home I don’t have the torque specs on me at the moment but will do 💪🏻

Hey bro
What is the torque spec to the two small bolts for the cylinder head where the chain is? Please
Hey man 💪🏻
Yeah for sure I’ll send them through in a bit 👌🏼
24 Nm Man 😁
So I was wondering about the torque settings

Well done on the progress!!
Did you get a new head or the old one machined/cleaned?
Just curious with it looking so nice and shiny XD
Thanks man 👌🏼👌🏼
Yeah got the head skimmed and Resprayed and then I’ve painted the rest of the parts black 🔥🔥
