@meringandan yepp, youre absolutly right. metal in saltwater=perfect match. its not nessesary to paint it under the water-line when its in the dock. because if you paint the keel in the wrong color it might get slower and more thirsty for fuel.
Is it true these ships are launched into only 20 feet of water? I can't see it personally, without the ship running seriously foul of the harbour floor.
these type of launches are way safer than the ones that launch sideways, they scare the hell out of me!
