i used to budget into the month ahead, but actually started using a “month ahead” category because of your videos! it took me a while to truly wrap my head around it, but i’ve been loving it so far! i can’t quite remember when i made the switch, but im glad i did. ☺️
i’m not sure when youtube creators can join the partner program, but hopefully that’s another stream of income that’ll help you reach your investing goal!

Congrats on moving out!! I love seeing your thought process on how you're changing your priorities. I'm glad to see that you're focusing on your mental health & not getting hung up on investing as much as possible this year💗

Switch fun money to ‘guilt free spending’

Very little is made to last these days. So frustrating! I really want to invest in better quality clothing so that they’ll last, but I absolutely hate shopping so I tend to hoard my clothing money until I have a wardrobe emergency. There are so many good things to celebrate in this video! I’m super happy for you and your parents getting to enjoy the planning process for their Alaska cruise. Delightful! You are so thoughtful in your relationships as well as in your budget. I love your videos and of course I stayed till the end! I use fake transactions every now and again, but only when it’s safe… Like when you are 100% sure the payment is coming today. Congratulations to you and your boyfriend on the move! How exciting that he uses YNAB too?!?! I’m enjoying the countdown to 1000 subscribers… just 69 to go at this moment in time!

I made a socks and underware category... because I agree its not fun and I put that off because I care to spend money there. So at least it has a spot and usually i dont pull from it...

Bombas socks! They are worth the extra money and hold up great.

you may want to use a reimbursement category for your rent instead of doing an inflow to the category because your reports will show you're spending the full $2088 instead of what you're actually spending which is half

@@cointrolfreak may I recommend the ping pong emoji for the reimbursement subcategory? That's what I use lol

    • @mrachel3
      @mrachel3 4 дня назад +1

In my experience with YNAB, inflowing the reimbursement to the category nets against the activity as well as the available so the expense report would only show her half of the rent payment.

@@mrachel3 I think you're right, I just do everything as a split transaction using a reimbursement category because I like tracking only my spending within the categories. you can do it either way, though.

I’m so jealous, all of my socks disappear before I get a chance to ruin them. 😂

Your boyfriend uses ynab?? 😮Did you introduce him to it?
I’m having the same issue with my socks. All things are just poorly made today :( I’m changing up my washing machine settings too though
I save my donations for the end of the year because of the matching! It feels worth it to me to wait because I have seen some programs who don’t reach their matching cap
Interesting changes to your budget! Your change in philosophy makes a lot of sense. I can’t believe you aren’t already at 1k

Ahaha yes I introduced him to YNAB and he loves it! He uses it for his business too now which is really cool. I may need to do a deep dive into his business budget one day.
Ugh same thing with shoes! I have a pair of converse from 2004 that I still wear to this day. I've tried to replace them TWICE and the replacements wear out in a year or two so I just wear the 2004 ones! Wild.
Yeah I'm leaning towards saving my donations! Also gives me time to really think where I want to put my money.
Thank you! Def trying to put investing more on the "backburner" instead of making it my #1 priority.
