She's worried that they're going to either blow that money or give the money to charity and it's not going all to them. Because of my age, which is over 70, and my health is good, the last thing I want to be in is a multigenerational house after I lived happily with my husband for 50 years and someone telling me where to invest. Contrary to popular belief, many people my age know what podcasts are, are aware of all the grandparent scams, and if our worth is over $1 million, it's pretty obvious that we're not as dumb as you think. Yes, the medical system is absurd here, but someone who has become proficient at coding and is paid decent for their field shouldn't struggle so much when combined with another income. We have to have them. Not my field, but i have a friend who can do as much work as 2 or 3 people, is exceptionally good at it, and her pay was considered very well. They bought after the recession almost 15 years ago, but if that wasn't the case, they would probably be tryng to figure out how to afford the median 400,000 homes now.

Please let people speak. I love this show and Dave, but he constantly interrupts the callers and doesn’t let them speak. 😢 Be kind Sir! You would not have a show without the callers. We love you, so please stop yelling at us! 🙏🏼 With love. 😘
Obviously he has figured out how to answer callers or his business would have folded long ago. Many like his "tough love" approach and the nation is falling apart right now due to answering everyone's "feelings." This is not the place to go for kind - there are other shows for that. This is the place to go to get a kick in the pants to get yourself out of debt and on a sound financial footing.
He NEEDS to interrupt them. He asks simple questions like “what’s your income?” And a caller will be like “well I moved from Austin texas a year ago so I had to get a new job then my mom moved in and she contributes a litttle then my dog died…” Dave ..”WHATS YOUR INCOME?” If Dave didn’t interrupt his show wouldn’t be within time frame, would be a rambling mess and the callers wouldn’t even get an answer.
@@LindseyHarvell-vc4ez 100%. People who comment here often forget the format of this show is a RADIO show with limited time for both questions and answers and specific hard breaks for commercials. The radio show is 3 hours, and that is reduced down to 2 hours for the RUclips version which takes out the commercials except for those promoting RS products and their individual sponsors. Folks who listen and call in should KNOW in advance their targeted situation, the income, their debts, mortgage amount, etc. b/c they know that is what they are going to be asked. One of the reasons the callers give so much detail is they think their "personal situation" will make a difference on how to tackle their debt. It won't. …if you’re debt free…it is 100% doable. We don’t even make 100k and are doing more than fine. But we also have no debt. Inflation is an excuse. Make the money. Get out of debt and you will be fine.
While I technically agree and Ron Paul has already pointed out the problem with hyperinflation decades ago warning people that it was coming, this is not a problem of not enough money being made for these two for these couple it has a problem of budgeting
@OopThereItIs77777 agreed. I literally googled how to beat inflation last year. The answer was get out of debt. Been paying stuff off. Not debt free yet, but we don't feel inflation nearly as much.
I'm with you. And my way of saving at the grocery store is to stock up one non-perishables whenever they're on sale, use the really cheap paper towels when I don't need Bounty for cleaning, don't biy junk food or go to fast food places, only use a tablespoon of laundry detergent in my old washing machine because my clothing isn't really dirty, or go out to eat. All my clothing comes from one of the discount stores, and I literally have only bought three items in the past two years because I have enough. No Mani- pedis - I can do that myself in five minutes - and I color my own hair. I am sure everybody reading this is agreeing with all these ideas. Congratulations on your determination to get out of debt, it feels better than you can ever imagine!

@tomiasthexder7673 Idk what to tell you. When people are speaking of debts they aren't talking about mortgage and utilities. Yes technically a mortgage is a debt you owe to the bank but when speaking of debts what they are commonly referring to is car loans, student loans, heloc, credit cards and personal loans. If your only monthly bills are a mortgage you are considered debt free.

i dont love seeing them read a script while trying to sell me zander life insurance. seems like a sales pitch watching you read it and not knowing and believing it like the rest of the show.
I have Zander for identity theft protection. But, warning: I tried to upgrade to use their entire suite, which included their virus protection. When I did so, it interfered with the virus protection I already had on my computer and crashed my computer completely. I use a service which updates all our computers and devices nightly and also has the virus protection on all of them. When I had the trouble with Zander virus knocking everything out, it was a MESS and cost me $200 to get everything back to normal. So - if you are going to use the virus protection that Zander has, be sure it won't interfere with something you already have.
I called Zander Insurance for a 600k 20-year term policy, and they were about $200.00 a month more than Select Quote. I would suggest calling both companies to compare apples to apples on your insurance needs.
No, what is annoying is the hosts making false assumptions about the caller and then cutting caller off until the ad music starts which is exactly what he did. Tacky and disrespectful.
To far for me. Have to be able to watch after my folks. But out of curiosity though for everyone, what's the wage range you're paying billing and coding staff

An 18% increase in rent is an extra $300 for the average apartment in the US. That isn't a lot of money for millionaires like Dave, but for the average person on a budget it's a lot. Once again this boomer is completely out of touch with reality.
Once again? sounds like you watch the show quite a bit. if you watch the show more than once it's because you know he is right. yet I'm assuming you was raised to be entitled and don't think you should have to start from the bottom cause it's not fair. Grow up. I grew up on food stamps in a trailer park and I made it out so i know you can too. And you also know you can that's why you are here, so stop lying to yourself and making excuses.
@@lexide9432Throwing around baseless assumptions is not an argument. An 18% rent increase is huge. The average pay increase each year is around 4%. It's basic math. Your anecdotal story doesn't trump facts and math. Perhaps you're the one that needs to grow up.
You and people like you, will always find someone else to blame. A perpetual victim who is being held down by some dark overlord. How about you look at your own actions? You may well discover why you’re a bottom-feeder.
Well I followed up with the DR reddit community and was able to go through everything. It was helpful since I was able to give the full detail and thought process. I still sent Dave and Ken a thank you, but assumptions were made in a short time and it was cut off. That's showbiz I guess? They can't spend all day with everyone to deep dive. I definitely didn't care about what he said. Having not enough money to cover things is a symptom of many problems. But 18% rent increase is not the only increase and I don't really think that's something to dismiss. Everything else has gone up too. It's difficult to keep up. We've both researched a lot in our area and we both have 2 degrees. It's nearly impossible to get higher pay here without more education. We have looked a lot the last 3 years because my husband has applied to new jobs and I look at the market. And we cant relocate right now obviously. Have to adjust and do what we can. I DO NOT want to stay forever and I hate living in a basement. Plenty of motivation. Part is changing habits, but unfortunately not everything is going to be solveable through changing jobs and eating the rice and beans right now. We haven't been able to increase income enough to save enough or tackle debt, and we can't cut the costs any more than we have. This might be the blessing we need to help them and to also get in a debt free place in 3 years...minus student loans

Girl, they’re doing fine. They’re worth over 2mil!
100%. She needs to Butt-out
I get the vibe that Heather wants to buy a big multigenerational home and wants to get her in-laws to pitch in for "their" sake.
She doesn’t want the in-laws to spend her future inheritance
She's worried that they're going to either blow that money or give the money to charity and it's not going all to them.
Because of my age, which is over 70, and my health is good, the last thing I want to be in is a multigenerational house
after I lived happily with my husband for 50 years and someone telling me where to invest. Contrary to popular belief, many people my age know what podcasts are, are aware of all the grandparent scams, and if our worth is over $1 million, it's pretty obvious that we're not as dumb as you think. And by the way, don't ask me what I'm going to do with X, Y or Z, after I'm gone. It's none of your business. If I want to know if you want something, I will ask, which I plan to do and I'll give the list to my executor. Otherwise, don't look longingly at piece of lead crystal I bought at a thrift shop, trying to figure out what you could get if you sold it on eBay. We are planning to do a reading of the wills and you will know who's getting what and which charities were funding and since you are all doing well, which we're happy about, you'll get enough to go on a nice vacation and the rest will go to charities and scholarships.

I about cringed when the woman was told her career in medical coding was weak. We have alot of low paying service jobs as is, or "entry level jobs". Please let people speak. I love this show and Dave, but he constantly interrupts the callers and doesn’t let them speak. 😢
Be kind Sir!
It won't. Debt is still debt and it still takes conscientious discipline to attack it.

Couple working 5 jobs and can't pay bills. Inflation is out of control.
No, They have low priority jobs. THAT is the problem

I believe it is a sales pitch.

An 18% increase in rent is an extra $300 for the average apartment in the US. That isn't a lot of money for millionaires like Dave, but for the average person on a budget it's a lot. Once again this boomer is completely out of touch with reality.

Part is changing habits, but unfortunately not everything is going to be solveable through changing jobs and eating the rice and beans right now.
