- Getting past the first time of doing something new is hard! So I am showing my pal Gary, how to get started with his very first attempt at Pinstriping! How to drag your first lines! And how to get the first time nervousness out of the way. Join in and get YOUR first time out of the way too!
I couldn't tell ya why I ended up watching most of this video but I did and hear I am with a fat ol' grin on my face. Dude, Max, if you gave anyone this much attention, enthusiasm, and so many helpful pro-tips, I am sure they'd be on the fast track to pin striping. What a fun time, you two! Thanks for sharing!
RUclips is really starting to screw with my head. I'm messing with a 1948 Clinton air cooled single cylinder gas engine. Cleaning, sanding, painting and all I've done is sort of think about looking for my 35 year old striping brushes. Today, I turn on the computer and what is in my suggestions? Pinstriping. Mind you, my search history is steam locomotives and the Canadian trucker's protest so why this popped up in my suggestions baffles me. Anyway, enjoyed the show, going to look for my brushes and a piece of glass to practice on. Wish me luck.
Good luck Hot Shot! Make Magic!
That’s a pretty darn good first pull.
Wow, the boy did good. I was not expecting such nice lines from so early in the process. I have seen custom car painters bring in a pin striper after spending weeks and a ton of money on the paint so far, and being nervous as all heck in case they messed up.
You've quickly become one of my favourite channels on here, really appreciate what you're doing and showing us new guys the ropes. Hats off to Gary too, better than my first attempts and you both seemed to have a blast doing it. Certainly got me in the mood to give it another go.
I've got all my gear out, just waiting for the missus to bugger off to bed later then I can crack on!
Massive thank you sir, stay safe and keep having fun 👍
I was just watching a psychologist and she was discussing how school has paralyzed us we were taught to sit down shut up and get the answer right not to make mistakes and to truly learn through those mistakes you are correct keep it up you will mess it up but you will grow with any crap The Joy comes with learning and struggling through to become more proficient
I remember those days just starting out. Trying to get the lines symetrical and thinner instead of bulky and thick. Practice is key and it takes time to get good.
I hand re-painted a sign for my church as a teenager and lately I've had an overwhelming urge to try pinstriping but idk what to stripe first. I'm tempted to look at pawn shops for beat up old guitars to practice on. I love the idea of pinstriping to cover scratches and whatnot. Thank you for the encouragement to try and try again!
hey max today i got a kit because of this video man, thanks man
Imboutta start myself and I wish I had someone to teach me like this in person..good thing I'm a hands on and visual learner
Thanks for the awesome content! I am teaching myself how to pinstripe and trying to learn all I can from stripers like yourself! Im a realism artist but I absolutely love this art form. Its so different than what I do but Im getting there with practice!
AWESOME! I do realism also! Pinstriping rules!
This dude is wise. Wisdom folks...... Right here. Now go and apply it.
Lol I love the way you straight out tell us!! You are going to f**ck up lol 😆 I have been airbrushing for years and I also paint cars , candys , flakes ect.. but only as a hobby for friends, I’m in a car club so I do a little work here and there!! But I decided to start pintsriping and holly crap!!!!! It’s an entire different burrito!! 😂😂 I’m on 3 weeks now and slowly I’m beginning to have more control of the brush,,,, it’s about how the brush feels you also must be creative and lots and lots of patience! Lol a little hard for me I have PTSD but I really want to learn so I thank you for sharing you’re knowledge with us rookies,,,, 👍🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻😡😡🙏🏻🇺🇸
Cool man! (What car club are you in?)
Thanks Max
.Obrigado.
I love your storytelling I feel like this is to do with many things in life we do many attempts need more effort or practice or time to work things out in our mind and creative ways and for the flow.

MAN THAT WAS A GREAT VIDEO, 2 THUMBS UP
I hate screwing something up. However, when i try something new and screw it up, i learn from it and its almost as important as doing it right.
Thanks again Max

I Like You Guys, Your Enthusiasm Keeps it on a Positive Vibe! ;)

Tha k you I definitely put down lines then wipe em off ,then put another line down of course like many im not happy with the lines soooo i wipe em off and start again thw hardest part is getting the paint mixeg to meet the environment around you
Just ordered a brush and some paint.... time to f@$k some stuff up.
I started a few months ago. It’s not easy. Trying to keep all the lines the same thickness. I’m getting better.
THANK👏YOU👏
Hey Max! Thanks for the video. Love this stuff.
Question. On the pinstripes behind you, do you do the white on top of the red after or before the red dries?

Wow!
You have to do hundreds of center needle eyes . Some moves look bad like too many crossovers or crossing at funny angles.
oh my god i F@#c it up
Yup, I fucked a lot of shit up.. good video
For the first time it is very good he could practice and stripe
If you are unwilling to be the fool you will never be the master.
Amazing! Yes yes many fuck ups for me lol
Yup! For all of us!
Dare to suck at something new. Great video.
whats a good starter pinstriping brush
Where do you buy supplies?
I haven't bought anything in a very long time. But if I were to, and they didn't have what I needed at my local Automotive Paint Store, (they usually have most of everything I need). I would shop on Amazon. And if there was something I needed that was very specialized, I would shop at a website like Dick Blick, or Coast AirBrush. And if I didn't know what I needed for sure, I would google it or watch a bunch of RUclips videos to figure it out, and then Google it. That is my way of supplying.
Thank you
if u want to get to the striping 6. 29
This should be said to everyone right after the doctor spanks their brand new asses. Welcome to ~73 years of mistakes/lessons and some success.
What type of board is that?
It is a piece of metal I get at Ace Hardware. 22 gauge...
@@maxkilbourne3142 Awesome thanks
That's a fuck'n legit first rule...lmfao
Second rule: Don't put sugar in the paint.
Bet you remembered before you hit the ground
..
Interesting teaching advice, total negativity! Your going to fuk this up ? Wow, I made good money the first time I picked up a brush, no negativity, liked the sound of your friend slapping your bald head too!
